Bachelorette 10 – Week 4 Recap

This week on The Bachelorette, Andi and her 13 guys travel to Connecticut to take advantage of what the New England countryside has to offer. She wore a Minnie Rose Cashmere Fringe Shawl ($308), sold-out Theory Datyah Amazing Wool & Cashmere-Blend Biker-Style Coat, and DSTLD Low Rise Skinny Jeans in Dusk ($65):

Screen Shot 2014-06-15 at 1.01.19 PM

The guys are excited to be at the fabulous Mohegan Sun resort and Dylan gets the first one-on-one date card. It reads “Our relationship is picking up steam.” We also find out that Dylan grew up in Massachusetts so it is sort of his hometown. For the date, Andi wore a sold-out Sandro coat and the Sam Edelman Over-the-Knee Kayla boot ($284.95). This Andrew Marc Combat Twill Button-Down Coat ($155.92) is similar and these Carlos Santana Marina Womens Boots ($60) would make a great look for less:

Screen Shot 2014-06-15 at 10.26.04 PM

They take a ride on a steam train, and as the daughter of someone who worked in the railroad business all of his life, I was thrilled they included this on their date.

Back at the hotel, the group date card comes for JJ, Chris, Andrew, Eric, Nick, Marquel, Cody, Tasos, Brian, Patrick, Josh. It reads “Who’s got game?”

For the dinner date, Andi wears a sold-out Rebecca Taylor Novelty Textured Insert Jacket. This Kenneth Cole New York Peggy Jacket ($64.99) is similar:

Screen Shot 2014-06-16 at 1.54.48 PM

Dylan really opened up to Andi on this date and told her the story of his siblings. This was so sad and my heart hurt for him. I am the nurturing type so my reaction to that story would have been to be his shoulder to cry on. I’m not sure if that is Andi’s personality, so I’m not sure how far Dylan will go in this process. Dylan gets the rose for the evening, but I’m not sure what sort of connection they have.

Andi could not have been more excited for the basketball group date. Men getting sweaty really got her going. The guys had to play against some WNBA players and then they split up into teams and played against each other for extra time with Andi. Andi was sporty chic with a sold-out IRO Ashville Perfecto Jacket ($780), ALC Getty Top ($264), Ash Bowie sneaker ($136.99), and a Peggy Li Large Berber Pendant Necklace ($59).

Screen Shot 2014-06-16 at 5.33.06 PM

For a similar look for less, this Calvin Klein Faux Leather Moto Jacket ($56.99), Pleated Crepe Woven Blouse ($14.80) and Skechers Women’s Plus 3 High Sparkler Fashion Sneakers ($57.54) are perfect:

Screen Shot 2014-06-16 at 6.02.16 PMAfter the game, Andi took the winning team Rosebuds out for some drinks. She wore an Alice + Olivia Layne Fitted Leather Dress ($1147). This MinkPink Above You Dress is a similar look for less ($89.99):

Screen Shot 2014-06-17 at 11.56.37 AM

Andi had some one-on-one time with Eric on this date basically to tell him that they weren’t really meshing. He was relieved because he felt the same way and they were able to clear the air and share some details about his family life with her. It was so nice to hear that he was able to take a trip to visit all of his family members before he came on the show and how well he spoke of his family. I’m glad they were able to show this part of their date.

Andi wore the Kiki Designs Smokin’ Diamonds Ring ($115):

Screen Shot 2014-06-17 at 3.04.33 PM

During her time with Brian, he was able to shoot a half-court shot on the basketball court and Andi was literally panting over him. That was his moment to kiss her but he totally blew it. He ended up get the group date rose, so she must want to see more.

Marcus has the final one-on-one date with Andi. The date card said “The sky’s the limit.” Andi reveals that she is afraid of heights, but wants to face her fear by rappelling down the Mohegan Sun with Marcus. Girl is crazy!

I was really impressed by Marcus on this date though. He was terrified himself, but was great at distracting Andi and helping her to get through the experience. That is a great quality to have in a husband, so that gave him points in my book.

After they are scared out of their minds, they get to have dinner, because who has an appetite after that? Andi wears Mother+Freja the Muse Hot Ticket leather pants ($147), Halston Heritage Ruffle Cap Sleeve Top ($227.50), Theory Wool Biker Jacket ($430) and Brooklyn Designs Harper Earrings ($35).

Screen Shot 2014-06-17 at 8.01.24 PM

Screen Shot 2014-06-17 at 7.48.15 PM

To get the look for less try these Halston Heritage Skinny Faux-Leather Pants ($120) and Michael Kors Moto Wool Jacket ($161.99). I found a few different ruffle shirt options, the first is this Ruffled Sleeve Woven Shirt from Forever 21 ($14.80) in a similar color and the second is this Joe Fresh Ruffle Sleeve Blouse from JCP ($29):

Screen Shot 2014-06-17 at 8.46.55 PM

Andi goes ahead and gives Marcus the rose early on in the dinner then the get a special concert from Jon Pardi.

Before the rose ceremony, Andi receives a letter from a secret admirer. It wasn’t revealed who the admirer is yet, but I think it’s sort of sweet for her to get love notes and flowers. These boys are supposed to be wooing her. She is wearing a green blouse to relax in her room. This Worthington Long-Sleeve Button-Front Blouse gets you the same look for only $17.99:

Screen Shot 2014-06-17 at 9.28.23 PM

The cocktail party was bittersweet this week. As we know, Eric Hill has since passed away and it was unfortunate that they ended their relationship on that note. I think it was very clear that whatever attraction they had on the first date had passed and Eric pretty much cut to the chase.

If you watched the one-hour special (see below for the link) you would have seen that Nick went to console Andi after Eric left, which will play a role in next week’s dates. At the cocktail party, Andi wore an interesting gold dress. It was sort of funky, but I found this La Femme 18439 dress ($550) that is similar:

Screen Shot 2014-06-17 at 10.11.38 PM

The ring Andi is wearing is also Kiki Design’s Queen Lepidolite Ring ($120)

Screen Shot 2014-06-17 at 10.25.02 PM

During the rose ceremony, Tasos was eliminated which wasn’t a big surprise. They didn’t seem to have much of a romantic connection. Next week we head to France!

What did you think about this episode and Eric Hill’s exit?

There are a number of deleted scenes this week. The first one is Marcus’ ITM on getting the one-on-one date card:

In this scene we get to see some of her alone time with Josh from the missing rose ceremony:

Chris and Eric talk about Dylan’s one-on-one date with Andi and what he needs to do to get a rose this week:

I enjoy reading Bachelor spoilers and if you are interested in finding out what happens in advance you can check out Reality Steve for more information. He also has great behind the scenes details on which cast-offs are dating and who is going take the final rose this season.

Bachelorette 10 – Week 3 Recap

This week on The Bachelorette, the gang is heading to Santa Barbara. Andi drives up to The Bacara Resort to get settled. I mentioned this resort, because after checking out their website, I discovered that they are in the Meritage family of resorts and I have stayed at their sister resort in Napa, how cool! She wears a fuchsia button up dress. This Jessica Simpson Sleeveless Dress with Laser Cut Eyelet Trim ($79.99) is similar. There are additional sizes for $128 here.

Screen Shot 2014-06-08 at 7.31.06 PM

The first date card arrives for Nick and reads “Let’s ride off into the sunset.” Nick is skeptical about this whole process, but Andi makes him feel comfortable with a normal date going on a bike ride. She wears a turquoise blouse, Paige Denim Catalina Denim Shorts ($139) white shorts and a Peggy Li Feather Necklace ($59). I found this turquoise blouse from Modcloth ($29.99):

Screen Shot 2014-06-08 at 9.06.15 PM

Following the bike ride, they go for a hike and Nick reveals that he has a schoolboy crush on Andi and she seems to like his honesty. Andi wears a Free People Denim & Knit Jacket ($148)and her Mali beads, first seen in Week 2 here:

Screen Shot 2014-06-08 at 10.16.09 PM

For dinner, Andi and Nick are treated to a romantic setting outside of a courthouse. She asked him the tough questions, but Nick said all the right things and Andi gives him the rose. I got the impression that Andi really likes Nick, she may not have as much chemistry with him, but she really wants to. It seems like they have similar personalities. They had a pretty steamy make-out session at the end of the date.

Andi wore a sold-out BCBG Thandie Jumpsuit and the Stella & Dot Hannah Chandeliers ($49). I found this similar KamaliKulture Jumpsuit ($99), but if I am going to wear a jumpsuit I need it to be a little sexier, so I would go with this Romwe Lace Backless Jumpsuit ($39.99):

Screen Shot 2014-06-09 at 12.10.56 AM

Back at the house, the group date card comes for Brian, Marquel, Cody, Tasos, Brett, Ron, Bradley, Josh, Eric, Drew, Patrick and Marcus and reads “Let’s start things off on the right note.” The guys think they are going to karaoke…boy will they be surprised.

On this date, the boys meet Boyz II Men and learn to sing “I’ll Make Love to You” so they can perform in front of a live audience. They were pretty good sports about the whole date, even though most of them sounded awful. I had a hard time listening to this again when I was putting together this blog. Once was more than enough! Andi wore Rag & Bone Portabella Leather Shorts ($440), sold-out ASTR Faux-Leather Trim Layer Tank, Rachel Roy Paavi Laser Cut Leather Ankle Boots, and sold-out Tasha Spike Necklace:

Screen Shot 2014-06-09 at 1.05.29 AM

Since most of the items were sold-out, I tried recreating this look with similar Halogen Leather Shorts ($198), Pleated Halter Top ($17.80), Michael Kors Graham Booties ($265) or on sale here if you are a size 10 like me, and a spike necklace from Etsy ($12):

Screen Shot 2014-06-09 at 1.55.29 AMAt the cocktail party, Andi has fun pulling a little prank on Cody, but he seemed to get a kick out of it. She wore a Cut25 by Yigal Azrouël hot pink one-shoulder dress ($276.50) and Robyn Rhodes Nima Ring in Turquoise/Gold ($99). I found a similar one-shoulder dress from Dress Barn ($70):

Screen Shot 2014-06-09 at 2.21.17 AM

nima_turquoise_webAndi had some steamy makeout time with Josh and Marcus and ended up giving Josh the rose. She is so into him, it’s not hard to figure out that he will go far this season.

The next one-on-one date card arrives at the mansion for JJ and reads “Love is timeless.” I thought this was a really interesting date. Andi and JJ got elderly makeovers and spent the day being old together. They seemed to have a lot of fun, which was great, but I think this would have been better as a third or fourth date, not as the first date. They sort of put JJ in the friend zone by doing this. Andi wore a blue cotton dress before her makeover. This Splendid Flowing Woven Dress ($138) is similar or this Eileen Fischer Racerback Dress is a similar style with a different shade of blue ($178):

Screen Shot 2014-06-09 at 11.47.46 AM

Back at the house, Ron received an upsetting call that one of his close friends had passed away. He decided to leave and spend time with his family and friends. What a terrible loss, our thoughts and prayers go out to him.

Dylan also shared a heartbreaking story. I wondered why the producers showed that conversation, I wonder if he will be featured more prominently in the next episode and they are setting it up.

JJ and Andi get to take off their makeup for dinner (thank goodness) and get some normal one-on-one time. JJ opens up to her and although I didn’t really see the chemistry, she likes him and gave him the rose. I loved her dress for dinner, it was so beautiful and feminine. It was the Bela Criacao Nicola Dress ($298). I found some similar options in this Arden B. Mesh Back Knit Dress ($59), this Gianni Bini Emma Fitted Mesh Dress ($71.40) or this Lauren Ralph Lauren Crocheted Lace Dress ($184):

Screen Shot 2014-06-09 at 12.35.57 PM

She also wore this darling Robyn Rhodes Andi Ring ($75):

Screen Shot 2014-06-09 at 1.42.47 PM

This week’s cocktail party was interesting. JJ and Josh confront Andrew about getting a girl’s phone number while they were out to dinner. I’m not sure how much of this was contrived, but I thought it was interesting that the guys got to go out to dinner, when past contestants have been sequestered in the house.

Andi wore a Badgley Mischka Orchid dress ($594) which is now on sale from the first time I mentioned it here last season. This is very similar to what Clare wore the first night of The Bachelor. This look for less at iFitDress.com ($79.99) is still available:

Screen Shot 2014-06-09 at 2.06.51 PM

Eric gets some one-on-one time with Andi, but they are interrupted by a flower delivery from Nick. This was a Bachelorette first, but a nice touch from Nick. It was obviously staged by the producers to show up at that exact time. Poor Eric, that totally threw him off his game.

Andi accessorized her look with these Selena Drop Earrings from Melinda Maria ($198) and the Sydney, Morgan, Jaclyn bracelets from Courtney Lee ($145):

Screen Shot 2014-06-09 at 2.09.35 PM

At the rose ceremony, Andi sends Brett and Bradley home this week.

What did you think of Andi’s choices this week?

There was on deleted scene this week where we see JJ telling Josh about Andrew getting another girl’s phone number:

I enjoy reading Bachelor spoilers and if you are interested in finding out what happens in advance you can check out Reality Steve for more information. He also has great behind the scenes details on which cast-offs are dating and who is going take the final rose this season.

Bachelorette 10 – Week 2 Recap

It’s Week 2 – Let the dates begin!

Andi can’t wait to start dating her future husband and she is already drinking The Bachelorette Kool-Aid. I hope things work out for her this season – they look pretty promising so far. She wears the Meadow Necklace from Susanne Elizabeth ($48):

Meadow Necklace

Eric gets the first date card which reads “Eric, Love is everywhere.” Andi wears the sold-out ASTR Scalloped Drape Back Tank. You can try this Loft Beach Lace Racerback Tank ($29.50) for a similar look:

scalloped tank

Andi also wears a combination of the Mali Beads bracelets in the Claire ($42) and Marsha ($165) styles:

Mali beads

They start their date out at the beach and seem to be having a great time. Andi wears a White Crochet Bikini from Becca, halter top ($64), hipster bottom ($54):

Becca

They helicopter over to Bear Mountain to continue their date and professional snowboarder, Louie Vito gives them a snowboarding lesson. If you don’t remember Louie, he danced with Chelsie Hightower on Dancing With The Stars. Andi wears the Acapulco Gold Leopard Pom Pom Beanie Hat ($44.35) and the Knot ($24) and Square Ring from Susanne Elizabeth ($24):

Beanie

Eric and Andi continue on to have dinner in a cabin and get to know each other better. He gives us some insight into his crazy adventures. This date ends up being bittersweet…they have such a great first date and we get to see how awesome Eric is, only to realize that he is no longer with us. Andi offers Eric the rose and we know that we will see more of him next week.

Back at the mansion, the group date card arrives for Josh, Marquel, Craig, Bradley, Nick S., Ron, Tasos, Cody, Brian, Dylan, Patrick, Carl, Brett and Marcus. It reads “Let’s bare our souls.”

Andi greets the guys and informs them that they are taking lessons in male exotic dancing to perform for charity in front of a live audience. I feel like this is Andi’s opportunity for payback from last season. Also, what girl doesn’t have an ulterior motive. Andi wears a sold-out Wayne Draped Halter Top. I found a few similar options with this Badgley Mischka Cowl Neck Top ($103) and this AtoZ Cowl Halter Top ($34.99):

Wayne

The boys get oiled up and ready to perform, but not until Andi’s pals Sharleen and Kelly from The Bachelor joined her to help judge the guys. Chris Harrison reminds us that this is all for charity, so we don’t have to feel bad about ogling half-naked men. Andi’s outfit includes 7 for All Mankind Skinny Jeans ($139) and Rachel Roy’s Padma sandals ($230.30 at Amazon or $425 at Zappos):

padma

Andi sexes it up for the cocktail party and I love how Craig starts off the night with a toast…foreshadowing his demise. She wore a Belle Black Long Sleeved Mini Dress from AQAQ ($250) which is also available as a Maxi Dress ($133.50):

AQAQ

Meanwhile, Chris gets the next one-on-one date with Andi and his date card reads “Let’s get our love on track.”

Back at the group date, Craig gets pretty trashed and makes a complete fool out of himself. Things get uncomfortable and they had to send Craig back to the mansion to sleep it off. This makes Andi question whether everyone is there for the right reasons. Marcus came out of the situation smelling like a rose and making Andi feel better about the evening. Andi gives him the rose for the evening and it seems that they might have a promising future.

Andi glams it up to take Chris to the derby and gives him the Pretty Woman date in reverse. She looks great in the sold-out Ted Baker Skater Dress. I found a few similar options with the Textured Knit Skater Dress from Forever 21 ($15.80), ASOS Skater Dress ($28.58) and Oasis Lila Embellished Crepe Dress ($118):

skater dressUPDATE: I found this perfect Cap Sleeve Fit & Flare Dress on sale at The Limited for $29.90 which is an even better match for this look:

the limited

It looks like she is wearing the Steve Madden Stecy Sandal ($66.75), which I’ve actually tried on, but they were too narrow for my big feet:

stecy

They sip on Mint Juleps, bet on some races, and chat up an elderly couple about falling in love. They get to know each other and Chris divulges that he was previously engaged, but broke it off because she wasn’t the right one for him. Andi seemed to love his honesty and gave him the rose. She has one more surprise and brings him to a private concert with the band, This Wild Life.

For the rose ceremony, Andi wears the Ditly Gown by Kayat. This Sheath V-Neck Beading Split Front Jersey Dress ($246.99) is similar:

kayat

I think Andi is a smitten kitten over Josh. He seems to really like her and they had their first kiss. These two have a lot in common and will go far.

Craig tries to make things right with Andi by singing her a song and he is no Wes Hayden people, but it didn’t work out for him this week and he went home.

Andi sent home Carl, Nick S. (a.k.a. sad robot), and Craig,

I can’t wait to see what happens next! Who are your favorites so far?

In one of the deleted scenes, Dylan tells Andi that he lost his brother and sister, but they are interrupted before he can tell her what happened:

Cody plays a prank in this clip:

I enjoy reading Bachelor spoilers and if you are interested in finding out what happens in advance you can check out Reality Steve for more information. He also has great behind the scenes details on which cast-offs are dating and who is going take the final rose this season.

The Bachelorette 10 – Week 1 Recap

Hooray for the new season of The Bachelorette!  Andi seems like a great choice for this season, smart, beautiful and knows what she wants. If you’ve seen some of the promos for Andi’s season, then you’ve wondered about her gold dress. Well not to fear, I have it and a great look for less. Andi is wearing the Val Stefani Strapless Gown with Sweep Train ($598). DressFirst has a similar dress for $197.99 that is a great alternative. The picture only has pink shown, but they have it in gold:

Screen Shot 2014-05-26 at 9.48.19 AM

My big comment as the show kicks off is the promo with Andi talking about how much she loves her job and how awesome it is. Flash forward two minutes and now she is giving it up for a TV show where the majority of the contestants don’t find love. Hmmmmmm…I just felt like that was a sort of misleading intro. It will be interesting to see what Andi does with her life after The Bachelorette is over.

Since we last saw her, Andi has received The Bachelorette makeover. She is looking fit and has gotten rid of that awful ombre hair (normally I like the ombre look, but I didn’t like it on her). She is also getting the wardrobe, as witnessed by her intro shopping trip in California. During the shopping trip she wears the Free People Ethereal Daze Ginger Sheer Panel Envelope Tank ($78):

Screen Shot 2014-05-26 at 11.34.48 AM

She also wears the White Double Chain Bar Necklace from BouCou Jewelry ($42):

boucou

Andi also tries on this Civilianare Military Dress ($195) maybe we’ll see it sometime this season:

military dress

On the beach, Andi wears the Crocheted Lace Shorts from Express ($41.94):

Screen Shot 2014-05-26 at 11.40.28 AM

Under her hoodie, Andi wears the Voda Envy Push Up Braid Halter & Hipster Bikini ($77 for the top $51 for the bottom):

Voda

As Andi enters the house to greet Chris Harrison and kick off this crazy journey, she wears the A.L.C. Lily Top ($280), which you can get here, here and here. A.L.C. has a similar Harper Twist Back Tank for $165 or you can get this Charlotte Russe version for $4.99:

Screen Shot 2014-05-26 at 9.18.39 PM

She is also wearing her beautiful Michael Kors Large Runway Watch ($275) from last season:

Screen Shot 2014-05-26 at 9.22.35 PM

Andi’s sister visits to help her get ready for the first night. They fake us out and make us think she is going to wear the gold lame dress, but surprise! She looked stunning in her rose ceremony dress (I’m glad she went with this one as opposed to the gold lame). The dress is designed by Brian Rennie for Basler. This gown is a one of a kind runway piece, which can be produced in each size on demand. If you are interested you can private message Basler here on Facebook. This Floor Length Sleeveless Jewel Embellished Dress ($343) is similar:

Screen Shot 2014-05-26 at 10.32.06 AM

If you liked the other dress better, it was the David Meister Pleated Halter Gown ($197.28):

david meister
Here are some of the men that stood out to me:

The Good

Marquel – he brought her cookies! Need I say more…

Screen Shot 2014-05-26 at 9.56.23 AM

Tasos – gets most creative gimmick for the night. I figured he had to step it up since he’s a wedding planner, but I don’t think the lock thing has ever been done on the first night before, so I liked it.

Screen Shot 2014-05-26 at 10.36.20 AM

Eric Hill – Eric seems like a great guy, I’m not sure if he would fit into Andi’s lifestyle, but I can’t imagine what girl wouldn’t want to be his travel companion. This is bittersweet as Eric has since passed away after filming the show. Hopefully, his time on the show will be a tribute to who he was and a chance for the world to know him.

Screen Shot 2014-05-26 at 9.23.51 PMJosh M. – Josh and Andi seem to have a lot in common and she seemed really into him right off the bat.

Screen Shot 2014-05-26 at 10.08.54 PM

Nick V. – Nick got the first impression rose, I’m not really sure why, but I think it was because he was so opposite of her normal type and she wanted to try something different for a change.

Screen Shot 2014-05-26 at 10.28.27 PM

Chris is probably my favorite. He was super cute and is a successful farmer. I’m not sure he is Andi’s type, but I won’t mind watching him for the next few months.

Screen Shot 2014-05-26 at 10.42.40 PM

The Bad

Emil – I’m sorry did he just say “Anal” on TV?

Screen Shot 2014-05-26 at 10.02.37 AM

Brett – he brought her a stolen lamp from his hotel room. Other than the fact that she is a district attorney and he just stole a lamp, I don’t get what he was going for. He should have at least had a witty pickup line to accompany the lamp.

Screen Shot 2014-05-26 at 10.46.41 AM

Jason – As an urgent care physician you think he would have been smarter than to use a lame pickup line like “I’m a doctor and I can tell that you might have a fever because you look hot.” I probably laughed about this for 20 minutes.

Screen Shot 2014-05-26 at 9.31.37 PM

Cody – Cody comes up pushing the limo with a popped collar, need I say more…

Screen Shot 2014-05-26 at 10.24.28 PM

JJ – What exactly is a Pantsapreneur? I hate to break it to you but pants have already been invented.

Screen Shot 2014-05-26 at 10.38.00 PM

Chris Bukowski – I’m not sure why he came back, but it was totally staged and pointless. The producers obviously set him up to come out there (he wasn’t there for a whole week regardless of what he said). He was miked up and everything. What may have been the wild card factor is Andi not wanting to see him. Which was a wise choice for her, because if she saw what a tool he was on Bachelor Pad that decision was a no brainer.

chris-bukowski-bachelor-pad

At the rose ceremony, Andi eliminated: Emil (shocker), Jason, Josh B., Mike and Rudie.

Some of you may have noticed that to accomodate the shortened time, ABC cut out the intro videos that they normally do in the first episode. Well not to worry, I’ve added them below for your viewing pleasure! At the beginning of all of these promos, Andi wears the Aqua Grecian Pleated Blouson ($258). I found a similar Pleated Bodice and Skirt from Eliza J ($158) for one hundred less and there are a few sizes at Nordstrom for $94.80:

Screen Shot 2014-05-24 at 12.45.05 AM

We also have a few deleted scenes to watch this week. The first one are the long hair don’t care boys talking hair tips:

In this clip, the Rosemaster himself breaks a glass and reveals that this has happened before:

Who knew that Andi’s dad decided to surprise her on the first night?:

He jokes around with some of the bachelors:

Andi and her dad have a touching moment as she walks him out:

I enjoy reading Bachelor spoilers and if you are interested in finding out what happens in advance you can check out Reality Steve for more information. He also has great behind the scenes details on which cast-offs are dating and who is going take the final rose this season.

5 on Friday: Summer Tote Edition

It’s time for another edition of Five on Friday with A Liz AdventuresThe Good Life BlogHello Happiness and Carolina Charm.

5 on Friday Logo - Final

No theme this week, but just some fun things I’ve stumbled across.

1. Michael Kors ‘Bailey’ Chronograph Bracelet Watch

I mentioned last week that our anniversary was on May 7th. Well John completely surprised me and got me this gorgeous watch! I have to get a link taken out of it, but cannot wait to wear it. I am a lucky girl!

Screen Shot 2014-05-08 at 6.45.04 PM

2. Givenchy Antigona Large Floral-Print Shopper Bag ($1145)

One of my students strolled into class with this unbelievable bag. I immediately got all of the details and decided that I had to have it. Well that was until I saw the price…definitely not in my price range. Givenchy has a number of items in this floral line that I just love!

BGV1SEA_mx

3. Forever 21 Romantic Rose Tote ($16.80)

I tried to find a look for less for the Givenchy bag and this Forever 21 bag was the best I could do. Definitely more affordable.

5. Junk Food Star Wars Tank ($20)

In honor of May 4th (May the Fourth Be With You) I thought I would pick up something Star Wars themed. I LOVE Star Wars and this tank is perfect. Junk Food also has a variety of different shirts in case that one doesn’t strike your fancy.

5 on Friday: Anniversary Edition

It’s time for another edition of Five on Friday with A Liz AdventuresThe Good Life BlogHello Happiness and Carolina Charm.

5 on Friday Logo - Final

My husband and I are approaching our third anniversary on May 7th – can you believe it’s been three years already?! Time flies when you’re having fun! I read that William gave Kate a £4,000 Cartier watch before they left on their recent trip to Australia as an early anniversary present. While I don’t think that is in the cards, I figured I would post my own list (and hope the the hubby reads this post, lol!). The third anniversary is all about leather, so here are my favorite leather gift ideas:

1. Kate Spade Cedar Street Tote ($268)

This was on my Spring Favorites list because I LOVE the color. It would be a great bag to have this summer.

kate spade

2. Michael Kors Selma Satchel ($358)

This is my look for less from Olivia Pope’s amazing Prada bag. It looks the same and would be a great power bag.

3. Tory Burch Reva Bombe Clutch ($299)

One of our friends had this clutch and I just fell in love with it! I can’t decide if I like the black or pink version better…or maybe both! The black one is available on Amazon, but you have to search the pink one here on eBay.

4. Sperry Angelfish Boat Shoe ($90)

I started looking for a boat shoe when I broke my foot and then decided that they would be perfect to wear around in the summer when my foot gets tired. I like the gold/linen color because I think it would go with everything.

5. Michael Kors Sondra Sandal ($99)

These are chic and comfortable. I think I like the luggage color best, but the Mandarin ones would be perfect for Tiger’s games.

May Pinspired

Its time for another Pinspired with Shay at MixandMatchMama, Sheaffer at Pinterest Told Me To and Mel at The Larson Lingo. This is a fun challenge to recreate a look from Pinterest.

As I mentioned last week, I have a lot of weddings this season. I still have three weddings left and one is at a winery/resort in Washington (the state). I was looking for a fun, resort type outfit to wear to this wedding and these pictures inspired me:

May Pinspired

I was really feeling the navy and gold look and wanted to recreate something similar that was casual, but still dressy.

I found the perfect navy dress from Felicity & Coco ($78):

I fell in love with these Klub Nico Moxie Sandals ($224.95), but they are a little pricey, I may have to wait for a deal:

For accessories, I figured I could use the Teardrop Chandelier Earrings I already have from The Limited (on sale for $13.77):

and the Pave Link Bracelet ($68) that I have from Nordstrom:

I also loved this purse from Lulu Townsend ($29.95):

Cougar Town “Learning to Fly” Recap

Oh how I’ve missed Grayson’s (Josh Hopkins) guitar songs, haha! This one was to celebrate the annual cul-de-sac garage sale. It was only fitting that this was the opening credit for this week:

Screen Shot 2014-06-07 at 11.46.49 AM

I love that the first thing Grayson wants to get rid of is the ice cream maker! We have one and haven’t used it yet, maybe that should be a blog post soon haha! Then the second item was used crutches, which if you recall I also have. Maybe John and I should have a swordfight too?

Jules is wearing the sold-out Aqua Plaid Zip Top. I found a similar look with this Vans Prenna Top ($30.99):

Screen Shot 2014-06-07 at 12.56.18 PM

Andy (Ian Gomez) on the other hand is a garage sale expert. He is prepared for anything, but Ellie (Christa Miller) is less than enthused. She makes a bet with Andi that if she can go without being snarky to the yard sale customers than he will get rid of everything he has purchased at the last five yard sales. If she loses then she has to wear an inflatable sumo suit.

Travis (Dan Byrd) is going through Bobby’s (Brian Van Holt) boat for items to sell at the garage sale and stumbles upon great grandpappy’s ashes. Bobby was supposed to scatter them while on a roller coaster, but he is too afraid to do it.

As Jules and Laurie (Busy Phillips) man the garage sale, I couldn’t help but notice Laurie’s fantastic shoes! I couldn’t find an exact match, but I found some similar black and gold pumps. This Truth or Dare pumps by Madonna ($99.99) and these Luichiny pumps ($59.96) are equally awesome:

Screen Shot 2014-06-08 at 3.06.57 PM

Jules is fast and furiously trying to unload her junk to yard sale customers, but Laurie tells her that she needs to watch out for karma. She doesn’t listen and literally gets crapped on by karma…a.k.a. a bird. Jules wears a sold-out Grid Block Tee from JCrew. I thought this Peach Love Cream Colorblock Chevron Blouse ($27.99) was a similar look:

Screen Shot 2014-06-08 at 4.46.59 PM

Later that day as they decide to enjoy a bottle of bubbly, Jules tries to convince Laurie that there is no such thing as karma. As she pops the cork, it bounces off the cabinet and hits Big Tippi, NOOOOOOO! May Big Tippi rest in peace…

big tippi

Losing Big Tippi, makes Bobby feel even worse about not being able to give grandpappy a proper send off. Travis tries to help Bobby get over his fear of roller coasters by simulating a ride. It doesn’t go very well and Bobby is still terrified of roller coasters.

Andi and Grayson try to get Ellie to break her snark-free day by torturing her with his ridiculous yard sale purchases. She wears a sold-out Rag & Bone long-sleeved houndstooth printed tee. I found the same print in a short-sleeved tee ($62.50) and a shell ($129):

Screen Shot 2014-06-08 at 8.01.35 PM

Ellie realizes that Andy set her up so he could buy loads of yard sale stuff and she couldn’t say anything.

Laurie advises Jules to do a lot of good deeds to make up for her bad deeds, so she spends the day helping others and telling the truth to her clients. She finally thinks she is off the hook, but then a car crashes through her office! Ellie stops by at the perfect moment to see everything go down, but has to leave so she doesn’t break her no snark challenge. She wears an interesting Veronica Beard Stretch Wool Jacket Blazer ($695):

Screen Shot 2014-06-08 at 9.39.59 PM

Ellie gets caught getting her snark-fix on random people in the street by Andy so she will have to wear the sumo suit anyways.

Travis offers to go to the amusement park for Bobby and release grandpappy’s ashes. The whole family comes out to support him and ride the roller coaster with him.

Screen Shot 2014-06-08 at 10.29.00 PM

Now that they group has mourned Big Tippi they are able to welcome the newest member of the gang…Big Sue!

If you’re feeling a little nostalgic, you can buy your very own Big Joe from Cafepress ($17.99).

Five on Friday: Opening Day Edition

It’s time for another edition of Five on Friday with A Liz AdventuresThe Good Life BlogHello Happiness and Carolina Charm.

5 on Friday Logo - Final

Baseball has been the thing my Dad and I have bonded over since I was little. My Dad grew up in New York, so I grew up a Yankees fan. I remember watching Derek Jeter’s first season and falling in love with baseball. The Yankees will always have my heart and are my number one team, but since I married John I have made some room for the Tigers too (as long as it doesn’t conflict with my Bombers). Anyways, I am excited for opening day and baseball season! I’m not planning to go to the game, but John and I will usually do our own opening day at the next weekend game that we can attend.

Here are some of my favorite baseball items for this season:

1. Alex and Ani Major League Baseball Bracelets

Alex and Ani partnered with MLB to create some adorable bracelets for all of your favorite teams. You could get a few to stack for a great baseball look.

2. OPI MLB Collection

OPI recently announced a partnership with MLB to create a fashion line for 2014. There are seven colors in total including Short_STOP! Love Athletes in Cleats, Orange You Going to the Game? Right Off the Bat, 7th Inning Strrretch, Umpires Come Out at Night and Girls Love Diamonds.

The line doesn’t officially come out until April, but you can get the mini preview pack on Amazon on the link above.

3. Alex Woo MLB Collection

Alex Woo has some adorable MLB necklaces. You can get your team’s logo but also mix it up by adding a number charm for your favorite player.

4. Tiffany Pretzel Charm

John bought me the Tiffany Pretzel Charm for my bracelet, but I also wear it as a necklace to baseball outings. This is one of my favorite things. What says baseball more than a soft pretzel?

5. Touch by Alyssa Milano

Alyssa Milano makes the best team sports clothing for women. I have been eyeing this Yankees draft sweatshirt.

The Crazy Ones “Dead and Improved” Recap

This episode started out sort of weird, but as it kept going it was very touching. The episode opened with Simon (Robin Williams) working on a jingle with his team. As he was waiting for his jingle writer, Conrad Evans, to arrive he is interrupted by Sydney (Sarah Michelle Gellar) informing him that Conrad passed away and that his daughter, Melora (Missi Pyle) is waiting in his office.

Sydney wears the sold-out Parker Printed Crossover Dress. This Julie Brown Alison Dress ($60) is similar. Sydney also wears the Alexandra necklace ($98) and the Grey Lee Designs Vertical Bar Necklace ($88):

Parker dressMelora is straight with Simon and Sydney, she knows that nobody really liked her father, but she wants Simon to do his eulogy. Melora wants her father’s life to be celebrated for at least one day and she knows that Simon can bring that like nobody else.

On the other side of the office, Andrew (Hamish Linklater), Zach (James Wolk) and Lauren (Amanda Setton) are meeting with the Charmin representative who wants to make the commercial sexy. Simon tries to trade Andrew and Zach for the commercial, but Melora is convinced that Simon has to do the eulogy. She wants her father rebranded as beloved.

Mitchell (Kurt Fuller), the Charmin rep, decides that he wants in on the big funeral. Instead of using Kleenex he wants them to pass out rolls of Charmin at the funeral. He wants what Kleenex has. Why not Charmin?

Unfortunately, before he gets a chance to continue his rant, Sydney has to interrupt with news from Charmin that their representative no longer speaks for the company and Andrew and Zach have to terminate the meeting. They wuss out and make Sydney give him the bad news. She wears the sold-out Kate Spade New York Kati Cardigan. I found this David Kahn Felix Sweater ($23.40) to recreate the look along with the Wyatt black and red rosette blouse ($66.75):

Mitch ends up losing it and his clothes insisting that Simon rebrand him. Simon pawns this task off on Andrew who tries to talk Mitch down.

For the funeral, Simon has to bring Fred Melamad, the voice over guy, in to help with the funeral. Simon keeps trying to back out of it, but Melora insists that she wants a spectacle.

Simon is having doubts about himself, whether he really has a legacy or is he just a big spectacle himself. Sydney convinces him that he is awesome and he needs to get out there and throw a kick ass funeral.

The sweetest part about this episode is at the end, when Simon feels like he is just putting on a big spectacle, he stops and realizes that someone loved Conrad, and that was his daughter Melora. He then directs his touching speech at Sydney, telling the audience that it doesn’t matter what people thought about him, it only matters that he had someone who loved him.

The best quote was “You want to see the true picture of a man, see him through his daughter’s eyes.” Even I teared up a little bit. He rocked that eulogy and gave Melora the spectacle she wanted.

Mitch even got people using Charmin at the funeral, so he won too.
