Mistresses “What Do You Really Want?” Recap

This week the Mistresses heat things up…starting with Karen (Yunjim Kim) crossing the line with her new boy toy, Harry (Brett Tucker) is ready to move on from Savi (Alyssa Milano), Savi is ready to have a baby again, April (Rachelle Aytes) is still adjusting to life at Lucy’s new school and Joss’ (Jes Macallan) relationship with Scott (Justin Hartley) is moving forward in spite of her relationship with Harry.

Karen

In the opening scene Karen is wearing a L’Agence Embellished Silk Tuxedo Blouse ($79.19), Milly Pencil Skirt (sold-out) and Michael Kors Graham Booties ($179.99). To recreate the look, I found this Adrianna Papell Sequined Silk Blouse ($99), L’Amour Nanette Lepore BodyCon Skirt ($7.99) and Tahari Chris Booties ($69.95):

Karen meets up with her new boy toy again (Brian Hallisay from The Client List) and they continue taking their relationship to the next level. What is she going to do when he wants to get to know the real her? She wears a Versace Buckle Strap Dress (unavailable). This Paper Dolls Black And Blue Bodycon Dress ($49) is similar:

Joss

I’m not sure I would wear a nice blouse to clean the silver, but that doesn’t stop Joss (Jes Macallan). She wears a BCBGMAXAZRIA Jaklyn Draped Front Top ($158) and Rag & Bone Hyde Jeans (sold-out). I found these Blank NYC Spray On Skinny Leather Detail Jeans ($88) to substitute:

rag and bone

April

April has to return a Gucci purse that Lucy got at a sleepover at her friend Payton’s house. She wore a Pilcro Avie Denim Jacket ($128):

pilcro

I loved April’s blue floral dress that she wore for dinner with Payton’s mom and found this similar ASOS Blue Floral Pencil Printed Body-Conscious Dress ($87.06):

blue floral dress

I love April’s face in this screen cap, which is her reaction to finding out about Samantha and Steven’s open marriage. She is wearing a red Trina Turk Imma Jersey Halter Top (only available in charcoal). For a similar look for less try this Michael Stars Women’s Jersey Halter ($48.96):

red halter

Savi

Savi receives her final divorce papers while at work and wants to skip marriage with Dom (Jason George) and just get to the baby. She wore a Vince Silk Panel Tee ($106):

What did you think of this episode? Dom will definitely react to seeing Savi with another man…and Karen meeting up with Jacob (Matthew del Negro) is interesting.

Splurge vs. Steal: Stuart Weitzman Corkswoon Wedge

I first mentioned these Stuart Weitzman Corkswoon Wedges in my post about Kate Middleton’s Royal Style. I am a huge fan of The Duchess’ style (we Duchesses have to stick together!) and have been eyeing these wedges since they made their debut in the 2012 Olympics and on the Jubilee Tour. Kate still wears these beauties, most recently in Australia, and has styled them with many different outfits.

kate middleton

As awesome as these shoes are, they cost $398 which isn’t really in the budget. When Kate first started wearing these wedges Stuart Weitzman sold out of them quickly, but now they seem to keep the navy ones in regular supply. As far as looks for less goes, they have been more difficult to find. Any similar shoes seem to sell out quickly, but I am determined to get this look!

After many hours searching for a steal for the Corkswoon wedges, I finally found a good one. These Anna & Zero Platform Waterproof Wedge Pumps are only $40.99 on Amazon. I am going to get a pair for myself and will let you know what I think. They look pretty darn good and you can’t beat the price compared to $398 for the real thing.

Do you have a splurge that you want me to find a steal for? Let me know in the comments. Or let me know if you find another steal for these wedges.

Bachelorette 10 – Week 8 Recap

We’ve finally made it to hometown dates and our final four men, Nick, Marcus, Josh and Chris. Meeting the parents is a time honored ritual and a good opportunity to weed out the crazies before marriage.

Our first hometown date is with Nick in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In the opening scene, Andi wears a Datyah Amazing Wool & Cashmere-Blend Biker-Style Coat (sold-out) and her Minnie Rose Cotton Fringe Shawl ($51.35). This Coat with Back Pocket by Zara ($149) is similar:

theory

Under all of her layers, she wears a V-Neck Blouse from H&M (sold-out). I found a similar flutter sleeve blouse in peach from BlueFly ($35):

Andi gets to meet Nick’s huge family and can most impressively remember all of their names. She did pass the bar lest we forget. Andi is wearing an Aqua Classic Denim Jacket ($78) and Diamond Arc Necklace by Ariel Gordon Jewelry ($525):

You can also get a good look at her Robyn Rhodes Andi Ring ($75) here:

robyn rhodes andi

Next up is our Iowa date with farmer Chris. He is yum! Andi and Chris have a great ole’ day on the farm. Her farm attire consists of of a Vince Raglan Suspension Cardigan ($172.50), Vince Silk Popover Top ($285) and the Diamond Arc Necklace by Ariel Gordon Jewelry ($525). This Theodora Cardigan by Velvet ($75.60), Joie Chally Top ($39.99) and Z Designs Arc Necklace ($18) are similar:

As Andi gets her smooch on with Chris, you can get a good look at her Laurel Ruby Studs from Brooklyn Designs ($79):

In our third hometown date, Andi meets Josh in Tampa. They went to play baseball and Andi wears a Vince Boatneck Tee ($125), Pull & Bear Basic Colored Shorts (sold-out) and Converse Chuck Taylor Sneakers ($44.95). This Ann Taylor Satin Trim Boatneck Tee ($19.88) and JCP Twill Shorts ($14.99) are similar:

During dinner with the parents, Andi accessorized with Brooklyn Designs’ Mika Gold Leaf Earrings ($78) and Abbey Double Strand Necklace ($98):

She wasn’t too thrilled with all of the football talk, but any good wife knows that you can’t get between a man and his football. She is wearing the JCrew Carrie Cami ($69.99). This Crisscross Back Cami from Forever 21 ($15.80) is similar:

camisoleIt was interesting to see the family’s take on this relationship. Josh’s sister pretty much forshadowed that they may fight about how involved he is in his brother’s career in the future. She is also wearing the See Song Ocean Blue Fishtail Bracelet ($40):

see song

Our final hometown date is with Marcus in Dallas. I loved Andi’s look for this date – it is probably more along the lines of something I would wear (I can’t resist a black dress). She accessorizes with the Short Leaf Necklace from Melinda Maria ($148) and the Andi Necklace from Brooklyn Designs ($115):

andi necklace

As they enter the bar, you get a good glimpse of her Isola Orenda Wedges ($121.95). To recreate this look, I selected this Jessica Simpson Sleeveless Sheath Dress ($128) and these Tenley Wedges by Dolce Vita ($79):

marcus hometown

Andi also wears Robyn Rhodes’ Sappho Ring ($99):

sappho

Before the rose ceremony, everyone is gathered at Chris Harrison’s house so the producers can tell them about the passing of Eric Hill. This is a hard scene to watch, a few other bloggers have mentioned that it is sort of like watching a private moment and I have to agree with them.

Andi has a hard time making it through the rose ceremony this week, but does eventually decide to let Marcus go. This isn’t surprising as she has mentioned a number of times that she doesn’t know if her feelings can catch up to his. She wore a fitted green gown. I thought this Strapless Taffeta Evening Gown from Dressale ($122.99) was a good match and you can order it in green:

gown

Next week, we have the Fantasy Suite Dates in the Dominican Republic and things will really start to heat up. Who will stay and who will go?

In the deleted scenes this week, Josh gives Andi a special surprise:

On her hometown date with Chris, they plant a rose bush in this deleted scene:

When meeting Josh’s family, Andi can’t leave until she does the shake face:

Covert Affairs “False Skorpion” Recap

This week’s Covert Affairs sees Annie (Piper Perabo) packing her bags to Venezuela on the hunt for Borz Altan (Michael Goorjian). As she packs her bag, she makes sure to bring her secret medication, which is still a mystery. Annie wears a Mesh Back V Neck Top by Derek Lam (sold-out). This L’Agence Silk Tank with Mesh Racerback ($68) is similar:

mesh tank

On her hunt for Borz, she runs into McQuaid (Nicholas Bishop) who wants an hour alone with Borz before he gets turned over to the CIA. Annie carries the Explorer Crossbody Bag by Fossil ($178) and wears the Rag & Bone Classic Newbury Booties ($525). This Great American Leatherworks Triple Compartment Crossbody Bag ($79.99) and Jessica Simpson Maxi Booties ($44.99) are similar:

rag and bone

Annie competes with McQuaid to see who can find Borz first, she almost has him, but unfortunately, has an attack without her medication. McQuaid shows up to save the day and secure Borz, but not without getting his time alone to question Borz.

Annie reveals to McQuaid that she has a heart condition and that the CIA can’t find out about it or they would take her off of active duty.

In the meantime, Auggie (Christopher Gorham) gets investigated by the NCTC and agent Hayley Price (Amy Jo Johnson – pink Power Ranger anyone?). He comes down pretty hard on her initially, but by the end of the episode they are sleeping together!! He sure didn’t waste any time.

Mistresses “Playing with Fire” Recap

On this episode of Mistresses, things start to heat up in all of the plotlines. We find out Daniel is keeping secrets and possibly seeing another woman, Savi (Alyssa Milano) is “playing with fire” in her relationship with Dom (Jason George), Joss (Jes Macallan) starts a relationship with her plastic surgeon and Karen (Yunjin Kim) crosses a line.

Here are my favorite looks from this week:

Joss

Joss finds out about Savi’s secret relationship with Zack (Jason Gerhardt) and then runs off to host a party for Scott (Justin Hartley). She wore a Zara Draped Viscose Blouse (sold-out) and a TopShop Diamond Quilted Skort (only available in orange $72). This Yellow Long Sleeve Front Cross Dipped Hem Blouse ($14.67) and TopShop Asymmetrical Skort ($65) are similar:

zara blouse

Joss decides to hold an intervention for Savi, which sort of annoyed me. She is a meddler and can’t let people make their own mistakes. Sometimes people need to make mistakes or they won’t learn anything. She wears a  Rebecca Taylor Faceted Embellished Silk Tee (sold-out) and James Jeans Zip Fly Skinny Jeans ($99). I found this INC International Concepts Sleeveless Illusion Studded Top ($44.99) to recreate the look:

rebecca taylor

Later on in the day, she gets new shoes and sends Scott a picture to tease him about his shoe fetish. The shoes she wears are the Zara high-heel ankle boot sandal ($59.99):

zara shoes

Karen

Karen confesses to April (Rachelle Aytes) that she has been role playing to meet guys and that she is loving it! April warns her that this could be a problem if she ends up really liking someone. She wears either the Joie ‘Malena B.’ Mixed Media Sweater (sold-out) or the Diane von Furstenberg Louisa Top ($294.31). This Rebecca Taylor blouse ($44.97) is similar:

dvf blouse

Karen decides to ignore April’s advice and take her role playing to the next level by sleeping with her latest suitor. In this identity she wore a long wig and the Just Cavalli Leopard Print Dress (sold out). This Diane von Furstenberg Ariana Sleeveless Printed Jacquard Dress ($167.40) is similar:

just cavalli

Savi

Savi is “playing with fire” in her new relationship with Zack. They go to the Red Hot Chili Peppers concert and then he takes her to get a tattoo. Interesting that she does all of this without telling Dom. She wore a Vince Draped-Collar Leather Jacket ($995) to the concert. I liked this BB DAKOTA Jacket – Faux Leather Drape Front ($84) as a look for less:

vince leather jacket

Savi confronts Joss about her intervention and the fact that she can’t trust her. Joss accuses her of doing the same thing to Dom that she did to Harry (Brett Tucker) last year. Savi completely disregards her advice and runs off with Zack again. She wore a Vince Vintage Leather Moto Jacket (sold-out) and carried a Michael Kors Hamilton Saffiano Leather Satchel ($358). This Cressida Jacket by BB Dakota ($92.99) and this Myrum bag from Aldo ($45) are great looks for less:

Bachelorette 10 – Week 7 Recap

The boys are in Brussels this week and Andi is feeling the pressure as this is the last week before hometowns. I could have helped her decide by sending everyone home that was wearing a scarf. What is up with these boys and their scarves – it is not attractive at all.

Andi on the other hand wore a beautiful Leather Insert Wool-Blend Cape by Sandro (sold-out). This Vince Camuto Single Button Cape Coat ($199) is similar: cape Chris Harrison sits down with the guys and lets them know that there aren’t any roses on the individual dates, but there is a rose up for grabs during the group date. He leaves the first date card for Marcus and it says “Let’s get a taste for Brussels.”

For their one-on-one date, Andi and Marcus get to explore Brussels. Andi is rocking her white pants again. She definitely knows how to work the white pants this season. She wears an Open Sleeve Poncho by Maison Martin Margiela. This Gray Cotton sweater ($79.99) from Etsy is similar: gray sweater

She also wore the Denae ring from KVBijou ($95):

denae

During the evening portion of their date, Andi needs to decide whether or not to meet Marcus’ family. He really opens up to her and shares some personal stories about his upbringing. Andi wore a Dion Lee Halter Dress. This Tamzen Halter Neck Wrap Over Bodycon Dress ($30) is similar without the colorblocking:

keyhole dress

The next date card arrives for Josh and reads “Let’s Ghent it On.” He didn’t expect that, but Andi needed more time with Josh to figure out what he was feeling. Once Marcus comes back from his one-on-one date, Nick sneaks up to spend some additional time with her. This was totally contrived by the producers, but it worked for Nick since he wasn’t going to get a one-on-one date this week. Andi seemed to love it though. She loves making out with Nick.

Josh and Andi explore the town of Ghent for their one-on-one date. Andi is rocking her JBrand 811 Mid Rise Skinny Jeans ($172), Joie Ferrell Jacket ($131.20), Minnie Rose Women’s Cotton Fringe Shawl ($51.35) and a white lace top. I previously found these 1969 mid-rise real straight skimmer jeans ($27.99) from Gap to match her white jeans. I also found this Club Monaco Vienna Bomber Jacket ($174.30) and this Short Sleeve Lace Tee ($45) to recreate the look:

minnie rose

During the evening portion of her date with Josh, Andi needed to figure out if Josh was ready to get married. Andi wore these beautiful Robyn Rhodes Genevieve Earrings ($135):

genevieve earrings

The last date card comes for Nick, Dylan, Brian and Chris and reads “True love is sacred.”

Back on Andi and Josh’s date, Andi is starting to come around to Josh. She really likes him, but she wants him to tell her that he loves her. He finally says the words and they go to a private concert by American Young. Andi is so smitten with Josh, he will be pretty hard for anyone else to beat for Andi’s heart. She was more excited to hear that he was falling in love than for anyone else on this season. I tried to get a good clip of her full outfit. She wore a Helmut Lang Alpaca-blend sweater (sold-out) and Alegra Leather Pants from Club Monaco ($695). To recreate this look, I chose this Kimono Sleeve Alpaca Sweater ($74.50) and these Blank NYC Vegan Leather Spray On Skinny in Grey Day ($98):

alpaca

You can get a glimpse of Andi’s Ruby Teardrop Ring from KV Bijou ($169):

ruby rose

On the group date, the boys get to explore an old castle, then they have to pedal a rail bike (which looked like hard work). The weird part of this date was when they went to a monastery where they aren’t allowed to kiss. Andi had some sexy pottery time with Chris, but she ultimately gave Nick the date securing his place at hometowns and giving him more one-on-one time with Andi. On this date, she wore Splendid Roland Suede Ankle Booties ($187.95) and Joie So Real Skinny Cargo Pants ($198). These Ivanka Trump Ramada Booties ($69.99) and Lucky Brand Charlie Super Skinny Cargo ($39.99) are similar:

cargo pants

During her one-on-one time with Andi, she wore a Rebecca Taylor All-Over Sequin Jacket (sold-out).  This Mao Collar Sequin Jacket ($59.99) is similar:

sequin jacket

Afterwards, the crap hits the fan when all of the guys gang up on Nick – drama!!

At the cocktail party, Nick steals Andi away making him even more hated by the guys. She wears a dramatic long-sleeved sequin dress with a slit to show off her gams. I found a similar sequin dress from KMDresses ($139.99):

sequin dress

Chris waits until the last minute and pulls Andi aside for one last kiss to make sure to lock his place down for hometowns.

At the rose ceremony, Andi sends Dylan and Chris home, which leaves Marcus, Chris, Nick and Josh to travel to their hometowns next week.

There is only one deleted scene this week – some goofy dancing with Chris, Marcus and Dylan:

I enjoy reading Bachelor spoilers and if you are interested in finding out what happens in advance you can check out Reality Steve for more information. He also has great behind the scenes details on which cast-offs are dating and who is going take the final rose this season.

Suits “Two in the Knees” Recap

This episode was action-packed! Even though Mike (Patrick Adams) went legit, Harvey (Gabriel Macht) still has secrets that can be used against him and nobody is safe. Rachel (Meghan Markle) had to use her influence with Logan (Brendan Hines)  to set things right which might lead her down a slippery slope.

Things are mostly resolved in the end, but for how long, who knows?

Here are my favorite looks from this episode:

Rachel

When Rachel comes in from working an all-nighter, she is wearing a Burberry Long Slim Fit Coat. It is hard to see in the picture, but the opening camera shot captures all of its beauty. I found a similar DKNY Peyton Trench Coat ($182):

burberry trench

Logan meets with Rachel to try and sugar coat some of his dealings with Mike. I can already tell that this situation is going to head down an interesting path. Rachel wears a super feminine lace trimmed Valentino sweater ($774). I thought this Chelsea28 Lace Yoke Sweater ($40.80) was a great look for less.

lace sweater

Donna

Donna (Sarah Rafferty) meets with Mike to catch up and talk about Harvey. Unfortunately, she tells Mike something about Harvey that Mike ends up using against him. In this scene she wears a fabulous Burberry Buckingham Double Breasted Cotton Trench ($1,495) and carries the Gucci Microguccissima Patent Leather Dome Satchel Bag (sold-out). This Calvin Klein Double Breasted Trench Coat ($158) and this Textured Bowler Bag from Express ($59.90) are amazing looks for less:

donna trench

Donna and Louis (Rick Hoffman) are becoming more buddy buddy this season. They strategize on how Louis is going to make amends with Jeff Malone (DB Woodside). Donna’s dress is perfect and no wonder, it is Alexander McQueen’s Cap Sleeve Deep V-Neck Dress ($1,595). This Marc New York by Andrew Marc Knit Midi Dress ($138) would be perfect to wear to work:

mcqueen

Louis comes to Donna for advice about Jeff Malone, who he thinks is gay and attracted to him, ha! She wears a sold-out Prabal Gurung flower print dress. There is a sleeveless version here for $1,303. I found three great looks for less for this outfit. The first, is a Floral V-Back Dress from Loft ($89.50), the second is a Print Sheath Dress from Adrianna Papell ($138), and the third is a Sleeveless Ruched Front Floral Instantly Slimming Dress from White House Black Market ($170):

prabal gurung

Donna is the queen of power walks and talks with Jessica in a Lanvin Twist Front Bi-Colour Dress. This MinkPink House Of Cards Dress ($36.99) is similar:

Jessica

Jeff uses Louis to get Jessica (Gina Torres) to help him out with a case. She wears a fantastic white ruffle collar blazer from Alexander McQueen ($1,095.94). This Joan Rivers Ruffle Neckline Jacket with 3/4 Sleeve ($18.38) is somewhat similar:

Covert Affairs “Shady Lane” Recap

I’ve watched Covert Affairs since the beginning and have wanted to cover it for the blog. I was hoping it would be a fun alternative to Alias (which I LOVED)! Annie (Piper Perabo) is no Sydney Bristow, but she does have great style for someone who lives out of her suitcase. Plus she does her job in Louboutin heels, what girl wouldn’t want to look fabulous while protecting national security?

The past few seasons, Annie has grown as a spy and it has been fun to watch. When we left off last season, she had gone dark to kill Henry in Hong Kong. This season begins with her coming back to the CIA four months later with a big secret.

When Annie gets back to work, she goes professional in a black pantsuit and deep blue blouse. I personally hate wearing long sleeves under a blazer, so I chose a sleeveless blouse to complete this look with the Tahari Jaycee Blouse ($58.90/sale) along with the Express Studio Stretch Notch Collar Jacket ($108) and Studio Stretch Barely Boot Editor Pant ($69.90):

Splurge vs. Steal: Clare Vivier Clutch

As promised, I am introducing my new series, Splurge vs. Steal! I’ve sort of been doing this with a few things this past year, but wanted to make it a formal series. If you see any great steals, please feel free to share them with me.

I first introduced this Clare Vivier Foldover Leopard Clutch in my Academy Awards Post, but it has been seen all over the blog universe and Pinterest.

Clare Vivier Collage

This clutch is so versatile, you can really pair it with anything. It does have a $220 price tag, which makes it a splurge. There have been a few steals for this look, but they have sold out quickly. If you are looking for a less expensive steal, you can snag this Express Leopard Fold-Over Convertible Clutch for just $49.90. Make sure to hurry because this clutch is selling out fast!

Leopard Clutch

UPDATE:

So pretty much as soon as I wrote this post, the Express clutch had sold out. I didn’t want to leave you hanging, so I found another steal, which I think is even better. Asos has a Pieces Asymmetric Leopard Print Clutch for only $34.30, which you can’t beat!

Asos Clutch Steal

Do you have a splurge that you want me to find a steal for? Let me know in the comments. Or let me know if you find another steal for this clutch.
