Washington Wedding Recap – Day 3

Day three of our trip was the day of the wedding so we were jam-packed with fun activities. First up, I had a little fun at the Willow’s Lodge spa with a heavenly massage. This was their outdoor jacuzzi:

willows

After my massage, I met up with my gal pals to tour more wineries (yay!). We started at the Alexandria Nicole tasting room. I have to give a big shout out to my cute preggo friends for being such troopers and going wine tasting with us even though they couldn’t have any.

preggos

At Alexandria Nicole, we got the 2013 Roussane, which will make the perfect summer wine for our deck.

2013-roussanne

Next up was the Bookwalter Cellars, which I loved because of the book theme. We got the 2012 Subplot 28 which was a great red blend.

Subplot No28-sm

There was a food truck right outside of Bookwalter’s and we were able to get some lunch and enjoy more of Bookwalter’s wines! We had a great time:

food truck

Our final stop for the day was Patterson Cellars. I got the 2012 Forbidden White and the Due Anni Red Blend.

After the last stop it was back to the hotel to prepare for the wedding. John and I were finally able to take our third anniversary photo since we were all dressed up:

anniversary

The wedding was beautiful and I couldn’t be happier for my dear friend Amanda and her new husband Michael. She was just stunning. This was one of her photos from C2 Photography.

amanda

We had a great time in Washington and would love to visit again.

A note of warning to anyone who decides to visit Seattle wine country – this isn’t like Napa, where the hotel will ship your wine for you. If you don’t get it to a special shipping facility during the week you will have to take it back in your suitcase because UPS/FedEx won’t ship it back for you. So keep that in mind if you are going on a wine shopping spree.

Bachelorette 10 – Week 6 Recap

This week, Andi and the boys travel to Venice, Italy! As she arrives via gondola, Andi wears the Katia Earrings from Brooklyn Designs ($65):

katia

In this ITM (in-the-moment), she is wearing Sacred Jewels Aqua Chalcedony & Garnet Vision Necklace ($199):

sacred necklace

As she roams the city before meeting up with the guys, she wears the Club Monaco Isabella Trench ($329). This Marc New York by Andrew Marc Rue Coat ($84.99) is a great look for less:

She is also wearing the Bria Earrings from Brooklyn Designs ($49):

Photo from Brooklyn Designs

As soon as Andi meets up with the guys, she informs them that the first one-on-one date starts immediately and she chooses Nick. This causes drama because Cody hasn’t had any one-on-one dates yet. Nick and Andi get to explore the city on their date.

In the meantime, the group date card comes for Josh, Brian, Dylan, Marcus, JJ and Chris which means Cody will get the final one-on-one date. It says “I’m looking for love.”

For the evening portion of the date, Andi meets Nick for a masquerade ball for the two of them. Nick is pretty darn honest here and I think the most realistic of the group on what this is. #Hesnotheretomakefriends

Andi wore the Painted Delight Mermaid Evening Gown by Theia ($1295). I thought this Trumpet/Mermaid Sweetheart Sweep Train Taffeta Evening Dress With Lace ($213.99) from Dress First had a similar look:

gold gown

After she gives Nick the rose, they go outside and dance to a private serenade.

Next up, on the group date, Andi takes the guys out on the town and then to a castle where she has them all take a lie detector test. Josh was not happy about this at all.

She wore an Hermes scarf (I couldn’t find the exact one) and the Skyline Ankle Skinny Jeans from Paige Denim ($179). I loved this outfit and to recreate it I chose a Sandra Ingrish Split Back Roll Sleeve Shirt ($68), 1969 mid-rise real straight skimmer jeans ($27.99) from Gap and this BCBGMAXAZRIA Case for Lace loop Scarf ($46.99):

hermes

She also wore her Costello ring from Brooklyn Designs ($65) again:

Photo from Brooklyn Designs

Photo from Brooklyn Designs

The bracelet she wears is the Stella & Dot Jackie Link Bracelet ($69):

b279g_jackie-link_rgb_a

Andi decides to rip up the lie detector results, which made Josh very happy. They proceed to the evening portion of the date. Andi wore an Herve Leger little black dress, I think it is this V-Neck Bandage Dress ($880). This Kardashian Kollection Women’s Bandage Mesh Cutout Dress ($34) is a great look for less:

herve leger

Chris admits that he is the secret admirer and secures himself the rose for the evening. He also redeemed her night after a weird conversation with Josh.

For her one-on-one date with Cody, Andi wore a sold-out Vanessa Bruno Athe Aimy Crepe Skirt. I thought this Club Monaco Summer Skort ($149.50) was a great match:

summer skort

They went to Verona and they got to answer love letters to Juliet, which was sort of cool. We get to see a different side of Cody and he was pretty excited about the date.

This activity inspired Cody to write his own letter to Andi. Unfortunately, she didn’t feel the same way and decided to send him home. Andi wore some unfortunate True Religion tan leather pants, which I’m not going to feature because it wasn’t a good look. Don’t worry Cody, you will find love on Bachelor in Paradise…

At the cocktail party, Nick made some enemies by stealing Andi away at the beginning even though he had a rose. Andi didn’t care; she loved it! She wore a sharp Blue Sequin Dress from Pamela Dennis. I thought this Lauren by Ralph Lauren Sleeveless Sequin Evening Gown ($101.99) provided a similar look:

pamela dennis

At the rose ceremony, Andi had to let JJ go, which wasn’t really a surprise as there wasn’t really a romantic relationship at this point.

Next week the boys and Andi are heading to Brussels!

What did you think about this week of dates?

For our deleted scenes this week, Cody receives his first one-on-one date card:

Andi and Nick feed the pigeons in Venice and they decide to land on Nick…yuck:

In this clip, JJ and Andi talk about whether or not he is good in bed…awkward!

2014 Summer Favorites

I’m a little late to the party on this one, but I decided this year that I needed to get into summer a bit before I could tell you what my Summer Favorites were. I’m having a great summer so far and wanted to share my favorite things with you.

Wen Summer Honey Peach

I just got this in the mail and it smells heavenly!

Wen

Carlos Santana Wedge Sandal

My manicurist had these on the other day and I had to track them down and get them for myself.

CND Vinylux in Lobster Roll

I still love my Tutti Frutti, but I need a good red color for summer and I think Lobster Roll is it!

Coach Eyelet Tote

I am in love with this tote in Shell Pink. It would be the perfect summer accessory.

Cudas Catalina Water Shoe

I’ve been spending time on my friend’s boat and that requires water shoes to go on shore. I didn’t think I would be able to find any cute ones, but these were a steal at DSW.

I just got the pink/gold ones and I love them, they are so cute!

Stuart Weitzman Alex Wedge

My beloved Nine West Lenal Wedges are falling apart. I have been scouting them on eBay but so far haven’t found any in my size yet. I have been lusting after these Stuart Weitzman Alex Wedges, that celebrities including Jennifer Aniston have been sporting but they were originally out of my price range. These black ones are on sale in my size and would be the perfect replacements for my wedges!

Most of my summer favorites from last year are still on my must have list. You can check them out here.

Suits “Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner” Recap

Things really started to heat up in this week’s episode of Suits. Mike (Patrick Adams) has all of Pearson Specter working against him, but he seems to be holding his own.

Louis (Rick Hoffman) is devastated when Jeff Malone (DB Woodside) comes in as a new partner and takes his dream. He bounces back and probably is the better man in the end.

Jessica’s (Gina Torres) fashion choices have taken a different turn this season, she is wearing more pink and they are showing her softer side, which is nice to see. Here were some of my favorite looks from this episode:

Rachel

Upon waking up, we see Rachel (Meghan Markle) wearing a personalized EberJay Gisele PJ Top ($115). This similar Victoria’s Secret Knit Sleepover Pajama is only $49.50:

eberjay

As Rachel gets ready to tell Harvey (Gabriel Macht) that she had an affair with their newest client, she wore a Nina Ricci Shell with Lace Insets ($249). This Slub Jersey Lacy Tank ($14.80) from Forever 21 is similar:

nina ricci

Jessica

As Jessica dashes Louis’ hopes and dreams by hiring Jeff Malone she wears a sold-out Mugler Structured Curve Blazer and a sold-out Burberry Prorsum  Floral-Jacquard Pencil Skirt. I tried to recreate this look with an ASOS Cropped Blazer With Clean Lapel ($85.74) and Brooks Brothers Jacquard Pencil Skirt ($198):

burberry jacquard

As Jessica gets schooled by Donna (Sarah Rafferty) on how to keep Louis happy, she wears a feminine sold-out Roksanda Ilincic Margot Wool Crepe Dress. This Limited Edition Nude Pink Falbala Sleeves Backless Dress ($64.52) from Choies is a great match:

Washington Wedding Recap – Day 2

On Day Two of our Washington Trip, we visited a few wineries in Woodinville. We started with the infamous Chateau Ste. Michelle:

IMG_2383

The winery was located in its own estate, there was a beautiful chateau and it was a very scenic area. It would have been a great place to picnic at or sit outside and enjoy some wine. We had a tight schedule that day, so we didn’t have a ton of time to hang about. Chateau Ste. Michelle is famous for its Rieslings. I used to be a huge Riesling fan, but lately I don’t like some of the really sweet stuff. We did buy some of the Sauvignon Blanc from the Horse Heaven Vineyard. We may have purchased more, but I think we drank it during the trip, so this is the only bottle I have left.

IMG_2430

In the back of Chateau Ste. Michelle, there is a winery within a winery. This was intriguing to me because it was in this little room made entirely of glass. This picture doesn’t really do it justice:

IMG_2346

Our hostess at Chateau St. Michelle was telling us about this winery run by the Antinori family who has been making wine since 1385. I am a sucker for a good history lesson and we had to go check this one out. The winery is called Col Solare and runs in partnership with Chateau St. Michelle. They only have three wines available, the 2008 Col Solare, 2009 Col Solare and the 2009 Shining Hill.

IMG_2345

This wine was amazing and if they would have had a wine club I probably would have joined it. We bought one of each at this winery and I am excited because they are a number of restaurants in my area that carry this wine, plus it is available at one of the local markets by our house.

After our visit to Chateau St. Michelle, we stopped at Airfield Winery, where the wedding would be held, to get a sneak peak. This tasting room was PERFECT for our friends’ wedding. He is a Marine and a pilot and she is a Navy Physiologist. One of the hosts at the tasting room gave us a little history about the winery. The vineyard is located in the Rattlesnake Mountains in the Yakima Valley within three miles of an airbase used in World War II.

Throughout the course of the weekend, we purchased the Pinot Noir, Bombshell Red, Ruby Rose and Flygirl White. We also joined The Officer’s Wine Club so we could have a great memory of this weekend.

IMG_2431

After this tasting we drove out to Seattle to meet John’s fraternity brother for a Mariners/Tigers game at SafeCo field. I was so happy to see these guys reunited. Plus this added to our list of baseball fields that we can cross off the list.

IMG_2354

We had a ton of fun on Day 2!

Mistresses “Open House” Recap

This episode was mostly filler, I think the most exciting part was Jacob (Matthew Del Negro) finally revealing that he had feelings for Karen (Yunjin Kim), but there were plenty of fashion options that I liked on this episode, so that made up for it.

Here are my favorites:

Savi

During Savi’s (Alyssa Milano) open house she wears a sold-out color tipped pink blouse from Vince. I found this NYDJ Georgette 3/4 Blouse ($89) to replicate this look: vince In dealing with Toni (Rebeka Montoya) Savi wears the sold-out Marissa Webb Sonia Top. This Vince Camuto Lace Blouse ($99) is similar: marissa webb Harry (Brett Tucker) and Savi are trying to sell their house, but Harry won’t talk to Savi and are having trouble closing the deal. Savi wears the Joie Marru blouse in a great periwinkle color. I love this blouse and have one in white! Since that color is sold out you can get the same style in other colors here. I found a great H&M look for less with this Satin Blouse ($24.95): joieSavi is finally dealing with the repercussions of her actions and I have to say, I don’t really feel bad for her. I’m not sure what she expected from Harry after she cheated on him and ruined their marriage. She wore a Vince Draped Satin Wrap Blouse ($92) in this scene: vince draped

Karen

Karen has a morning coffee with Joss (Jess Macallan) and wears a pink Vince Contrast Placket Blouse ($169). I thought this Tanks to You Top from Modcloth ($29.99) was a great black on pink look for less: pink and black On Karen’s first date back, she wears a sold-out Reiss Hermione Black Folded Layer Dress. This Victoria’s Secret Asymmetric Shift Dress is the perfect match for only $49.50: reiss asymmetric

Joss

Joss meets up with Karen to dish about her date. I really liked her sold-out Band of Gypsies Print Chiffon Kimono Jacket. I thought this Blue Sakura Print Kimono Sunscreen Chiffon Coat for $18.13 was a good alternative: kimono

When Joss runs into Savi, she wears a J Valdi Zig Zag Swim Cover Up ($21.60): jsaldi

April

April (Rochelle Aytes) is charged with hosting a parent party for her daughter’s school and her new gay best friend comes up with a painting party with half-naked men serving drinks. You can get April’s Vince Camuto Printed Halter Maxi Dress for $90.99: floral maxiApril has a meet-the-parents date with her daughter’s new friend’s parents. It gets awkward when the dad turns out to be someone she went on a coffee date with and he is married! I loved her dress in this scene. It is black with little flowers, so cute! I thought this Floral Print Strappy Cut-Out Maxi Dress from Charlotte Russe ($29.99) would be a good recreation: black floral

Toni

Toni is the kind of girl that you need to keep close so you can make sure to be one step ahead of her. She is a great dresser and I loved her Ted Baker Jamthun Zip-Front Jamthun Zip-Front Peplum Dress ($295). This ASOS Midi Body-Conscious Dress with Sweetheart Neck and Peplum ($47.64) is a good look for less:

Save Your Skin with Meijer Beauty

I received beauty products from Meijer to help promote Meijer Beauty Perks. All opinions expressed are my own.

Saturday was the first day of summer and while I was up in Traverse City celebrating my fourth wedding, some of you were out enjoying the sun. Maybe some of you are even recovering from sunburns this week. As a fair skinned person, I have to be extremely careful in the sun. I burn easily and find myself using SPF 100 frequently.

The sun has two different types of rays, UVA and UVB. UVA rays cause aging and UVB rays cause burns. The SPF rating on your sunscreen bottle tells you how long you can stay in the sun before you get burned by the sun’s UVB rays.

Even if you aren’t fair skinned like me, you want to make sure to protect your skin from the sun. Sun damage causes wrinkles, brown spots, aging and skin cancer which we don’t want.

This week (June 22-28) Meijer is offering customers “Buy One, Get One 50% Off” on sun care products from Coppertone, Banana Boat and Hawaiian Tropic to protect your skin from the sun. Now is the perfect time to stock up on your sunscreen for the summer!

Meijer was kind enough to send me some sun care goodies to help kick off the summer and I want to share them with you! I am running a Summer Sun Giveaway through June 30th so you can get supplied for the summer. One lucky winner will get a fabulous gold beach bag, Goody hair ties, Veet Hair Remover, Jergens Natural Glow Firming Moisturizer, Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration, L’Oreal Quick Dry Finish Spray, NO-AD Sunscreen Lotion, Banana Boat Aloe After Sun Lotion, Hawaiian Tropic Dark Tanning Oil.

Bachelorette 10 – Week 5 Recap

This week on The Bachelorette Andi and the boys travel to Marseille, France! Andi meets with Chris Harrison to talk about the week and how she is feeling about the process. She wears a Rag & Bone Briana Wool Blend Sweater ($137) and this Alice & Olivia Pleated Leather Skirt ($495). I found a few similar skirt options, one at H&M for $15 and one at Zara for $19.99. For the sweater, this Design History Sweater ($65) fits the look: leather skirtAs soon as the men arrive they receive the first date card, in French. What we do know is that Josh gets the first date card. I loved Andi’s outfit on this date. She wears a pink half placket blouse from Vince. The pink color is sold out but I found a black and white version here ($119.40) and here ($132.99). Her necklace is the Andi necklace from Brooklyn Designs ($115). To get the look for less, I found this Chelsea28 blouse ($52.26) I also loved her tote and couldn’t find a similar striped bag, but I did find this Marc Fisher bag ($65.99) that has the grey and white look: vince blouse   Andi also wore Brooklyn Designs’ Infinity Earrings ($38) on this date:

In the meantime, the next date card arrives and it’s a group date card for Marcus, Dylan, Chris, Cody, Marquel, JJ,  Nick, Patrick and Andrew. It’s blank and says “Love, Andi.” Some drama unfolds in the house, when Marquel finds out that Andrew made a racial comment during one of the early rose ceremonies.

For the evening portion of her date with Josh, Andi wears a V-Neck Halter Dress from Gucci. They have dinner at Palais Longchamp, a romantic French palace. I found a similar Laundry by Shelli Segal Knotted Jersey Cross Back Gown ($275): gucci Andi is smitten with Josh and they finally have that serious conversation that she has been dying to have with him. Of course, she gives him the rose and they continue their evening with a private concert from Ben Fields.

On the group date, the guys have to mime…in public. Andi wears a cute French-inspired outfit with the Elvia lace top by Joie ($218), Azin turquoise earrings by Robyn Rhodes ($99), Ryan Bangle Bracelet by Melinda Maria ($98) and the Forever 21 Fancy Faux Suede Pumps ($22.99). I found a less expensive Pim + Larkin Boatneck Lace Top ($44.50). Since the Forever 21 shoes are mostly sold out, I found these Tahari Jada Pumps ($39.94) that are nearly identical: Joie While the group is miming, the second one-on-one date card arrives for Brian and says “I’ve got the recipe for love.”

Nick is pretty miserable miming and just being on the group date. The cocktail party was “salty” so-to-speak. There was too much drama in the house and the guys pretty much ruined the evening for Andi. She looked great in an MLV Bobbi Sparkle Mini-Skirt ($154). This Pure as Snow White Sequin Mini Skirt from KamiShade ($69) is similar: sequin mini I had a hard time getting a screenshot of the fabulous little booties she had on, so I hope you can see them. I liked them so much that I found these similar Steve Madden Derived Booties ($64.96): booties On the group date, Andi gives JJ the rose, which was interesting since he was the drama instigator. I guess his plan worked…

Brian has the last one-on-one date and it’s pretty much a commercial for The Hundred Foot Journey. Which is fine considering her date with Brian is terrible. We needed something to entertain us. I will never understand why she gave Brian the rose on this date. It was Lame with a capital L. At least Andi looked cute in her All Saints Cargo Leather Biker Jacket ($540). This Cherrie Faux Leather Biker Jacket from Topshop ($100) is similar: All Saints Leather Jacket During the cooking portion of the date, Andi wore the sold-out Elegant Surplice Top from Forever 21. This Free People Miles Away Tank Top ($68) is similar. She accessorized with the Ombre Iolite & Arrowhead Necklace by Gold & Gray ($330), Mini Druzy Necklace by Gold & Gray ($120) , Hampton Circle ring by Brooklyn Designs ($89) and Costello ring by Brooklyn Designs ($65): surplice tank hampton circle ring

Photo from Brooklyn Designs

Photo from Brooklyn Designs

For the rose ceremony Andi wears a blue corseted dress with black embellishments. I really liked her “frozen style” hair this week. I’m not sure it went with this dress exactly, but I really liked the braid. This Wholesale Black Royal Blue Evening Dress ($177.86) is the closest match I could find.

corset dress

Andi decides to cut the cocktail party and go straight to the rose ceremony as she has made up her mind and there is no changing it. During the rose ceremony you can see her Ruby Marmalade ring from Kiki Designs ($120):

ruby marmalade

She let Andrew, Patrick and Marquel go this week, which seemed about right since she hadn’t had a one-on-one with any of them and she hadn’t kissed any of them. It was pretty clear that these were easy cuts at this point.

Next week the boys are headed to Venice, Italy!

There are a few deleted scenes this week, the first  is a conversation between Josh, Marquel, Nick and JJ discussing Brian’s chances of securing his rose on a one-on-one date:

In this one, Chris Harrison talks about the end of bromances:

In this clip, Cody steals Andi away for some last minute one-on-one time before the rose ceremony:

Here we see another clip of Andi receiving another letter from her secret admirer:

Washington Wedding Recap – Day 1

I may have mentioned in a previous post that we had four weddings to attend this spring. This is the third wedding we went to a few weeks ago for our friends Amanda and Michael. It was a big one as we got to travel to Seattle, Washington for the first time.

John and I had a few extra days before the wedding to check out some sights, so as soon as our plane landed we decided to check out Pike Place Market in downtown Seattle. We had fun checking out the marketplace and trying fresh fruit. I even tried a Plout (Plum & Apricot) and it was delicious!

We had lunch at the famous Pike Place Chowder, a.k.a. “Nation’s Best Chowder.” I tried the Southwest Chicken Corn Chowder and I could definitely see why they are known for their chowder!

pike place chowder

After lunch and exploring, we headed out to Woodinville, to check in at Willow’s Lodge, our home for the next few days. This resort was gorgeous! Our room was amazing with it’s own fireplace and balcony.

willows lodge

Our room turned out to be right next door to a few friends that we hadn’t seen since our wedding. We had a great time catching up over some wine while we were waiting for the rest of the group to arrive.

Anne jen and me

john and stefan

For dinner we all walked right next door to Redhook Brewery and we were able to meet up with another one of my husband’s fraternity brothers that we hadn’t seen in about five years. I was so happy that we got to meet up with them! I tried the Blonde Ale of course, YUM!

Suits “One, Two, Three, Go…” Recap

I’ve wanted to cover Suits on my blog for some time and I am excited to start this season! I watch this show with my husband and LOVE the outfits. From Jessica’s (Gina Torres) power dresses to Donna’s (Sarah Rafferty) polished look, I can’t wait to find the looks for less.

Season four sees everything changing, from Mike (Patrick Adams) leaving the firm to go legit, to Rachel (Meghan Markle) coming into her own as Harvey’s number two, it will be interesting to see how the dynamic will change.

Here are some of my favorite looks from this episode:

Rachel

I loved this feminine Burberry Prorsum Blue Lace Pencil Skirt, no wonder it’s sold-out. She paired it with a Burberry Brit Stretch Cotton Shirt ($225) and Yves Saint Laurent Mini ‘Cabas ChYc’ Burgundy Leather Tote Bag. Get this look for yourself with this Minuet Petite Lace Zip Back Skirt (about $50), Banana Republic Fitted Non-Iron Sateen Shirt ($69.50) and Michael Kors Selma Large Satchel ($267.99):

burberry

Rachel is always polished, even in her Burberry Check Stretch-Silk Dressing Gown. I thought this striped kimono robe from Victoria’s Secret ($52) would make a good alternative.

burberry robeRachel and Mike are getting played against each other by Harvey (Gabriel Macht) and she has to put her foot down with Harvey. She looks calm and collected in her Alexander Wang Exposed Dart Sheath Dress ($297). I thought this Ultra Chic Sheath Dress from Forever 21 ($17.80) had fun details like Rachel’s dress for a similar look:

alexander wang

Jessica

Jessica struggles with her decision to hire Jeff Malone (DB Woodside) and I have to respect her decision to make him choose between a personal or professional relationship. For their last night she wears a Lanvin wrap-front piqué coat ($4,460) and Salvatore Ferragamo Double Gancini Leather Belt ($350). To recreate this look, I found a London Fog Trench ($258) and Patent Double Keeper Skinny Belt ($25):

What did you think about this episode of Suits? What will happen now that Harvey and Mike are on opposing sides?

If you missed the premiere, you can still catch it here.
