I started this blog in May and have had so much fun writing it ever since! I feel like I learn something new every time I write and research a new post. For my Favorite Things list, I wanted to highlight some of the items I have covered this year, that I absolutely love. I use my blog as a virtual shopping list, most of the time I am posting about things I either own or want to get for myself. So without further ado, here are my favorite items from 2013:
Solano SuperSolano 3500Lite Hair Dryer ($129.99)
You can read more about this hair dryer in my original post here, but I am still using this and it is awesome.
Clinique Eye Shadow in Sugar Cane ($15)
I originally posted about my favorite Clinque eyeshadow, Sugar Sugar here, but Clinique has redesigned all of their shadows and the new comparable color is now called Sugar Cane. I didn’t think it possible, but I love the new shadows even more than the originals. The pigment is so vibrant and it is fabulous for layering.
Wen Cleansing Conditioner ($29)
I’ve been a Wen girl for pretty much the whole year now and I still love it. You can read more about my journey with Wen here. I use the Lavender scent on a daily basis now, but for the holidays you might try the new Winter Cranberry Mint scent.
Eminence Strawberry Rhubarb Dermafoliant ($33.13)
This stuff is seriously amazing! I love Eminence products (you can read more here) but this one is far and away the best thing you can use on your face. It gives me a great glow and really clears up my skin. I use this every day and love it.
Pewabic Pottery Gift Set ($40)
I shared my love for all things Pewabic Pottery here, but for the holidays I am loving this “Detroiter” Detroit Chocolat and 4×4 tile Gift Set.
Dream Angels Halo
This is hands down my favorite scent. You can read more about how to find your signature scent here. Unfortunately, it is discontinued, but I still get it via eBay.
Marc by Marc Jacobs Turnlock Katie Stretch Bracelet ($42)
This was one of my summer favorites and I literally wore it every day this summer and can’t wait to wear it again!
CND Shellac/Vinylux – Tutti Frutti
This is my hands down favorite nail polish color. I wore it every day in the summer and will probably bring it back for New Year’s Eve.
Cashmere Mist Deodorant ($19)
This is one of beauty’s best kept secrets, Donna Karan’s Cashmere Mist Deodorant smells amazing and lasts all day long!
Michael Kors ‘Everest’ Baguette Crystal Bezel Bracelet Watch ($325)
This watch is so beautiful, I have been waiting for it to go on sale so I can get it.
YSL’s Touche Eclat Radiant Touch in Luminous Radiance ($40)
I first tried this during my Sephora makeover (read more here) and I love having it in my purse for touch ups during the day.
Liz Claiborne white cowl neck sweater on QVC ($29.86)
I originally posted this as one of my looks for less from The Bachelorette Week 4. I ended up buying it for myself and it is my favorite thing to wear this winter. I may have to get another color.
Vera Wang Lavender Penny Wedges
I showcased these babies in my July Pinspired post and love them. I really like the pink ones too – maybe I should get them for next summer. They are a little high, so you definitely want to save them for special occasions.
Jennifer Zeuner Initial Necklace ($220)
This was on my birthday wish list and I still want one, maybe for Christmas?
Temptu ($230)
I have wanted the air brush makeup kit for a long time now. I used to test it out at Sephora when they partnered together and I loved the results!
Erin Condren Planner ($75)
I’ve heard great things about this planner and there is no better time than the end of the year to get a new one.
Clarisonic Mia 2 ($150)
I love my Clarisonic and it does wonders for my skin. More to come on this in a future blog post.
Stuart Weitzman Corkswoon Wedges ($398)
These are one of my favorite Kate Middleton style pieces. You can read more about them in my Royal Style favorites post.
Clinique Turnaround Concentrate Radiance Renewer ($45)
I love this stuff, once I started using it, I noticed a huge difference in my skin. It really helped to bring things into balance.
Issa Collection Three-Quarter Sleeve Wrap-Tie Dress ($130):
I love this replica of Kate Middleton’s engagement photo dress and it looks amazing on. It is probably one of the most flattering dresses I own. It is sold out on the Banana Republic website, but you can still find it on eBay.
Starbucks Refreshers
I am not a coffee drinker, I don’t like the taste or flavor of any coffee products. I also don’t like tea or soda, so this limits the choices I have to get caffeine. These refreshers are fantastic, you can get them as a drink at Starbucks, in a can or as a packet to add to your water.
Celine Dion’s – You Loved Me Back to Life
The new album is fabulous, I can’t wait to see the live version!
Prabal Gurung Nolita Heels
I only got to wear these a few times before I broke my foot, but I love them. They look awesome with a little black dress. As you know most of the Target collaborations sell out the first day, but people put them up on eBay right away. Click here to search for your size on eBay. I got the matching clutch too!
Marlyn Schiff Elephant Cuff ($34)
I just stumbled upon this surfing the net and think it is adorable. I must have it!
Eat Blog Love Notepad ($23)
What a great gift for any blogger, I would love one of these for all of my blog ideas.
Side Way Cross Necklace ($25)
I was so excited when I got my Ily Couture Side Way Cross Necklace on sale. I wore it a number of times…and then I lost it. I can’t seem to find it anywhere, so I bought another one (which is probably the fastest way to find the old one). It annoys me to have to buy something twice, but I really loved it.
Stella and Dot Bahari Necklace
This is the perfect necklace to wear on Michigan game days. Funny story – I saw one of our local TV anchors wearing it after last week’s game and I liked it so much I decided to tweet her and ask her where she got it. I was thrilled when she said it was Stella and Dot. Unfortunately, this necklace is sold out on the Stella and Dot website, but I got mine on eBay.
Michael Kors Belted Wrap Coat ($158)
This is from one of my Scandal looks for less, but I own this coat myself and love it.
Phillip Lim Tote
I can’t decide if I should get the black or purpleberry tote maybe both. This bag is awesome! So awesome that you can only get it on eBay now.
Cashmere Pig Sweater ($107.40)
Forget the fox! I am all about pigs over here! I love, love, love piggies and I decided I had to have this sweater when I stumbled across it on Bluefly. What’s not to love? It’s cashmere and adorable!
Pave Bracelet ($99)
I have been eyeing this one for a while and think it would be perfect for the holidays.
Etsy Bib Necklace ($15.99)
This was a look for less find from one of The Crazy Ones episodes. I loved it so much I got it for myself.
Isaac Mizrahi Peplum Dress ($118)
This dress goes along with the bib necklace above. It was my first foray into peplum and it looked great on me. I did take the belt off of it and then it was perfect.
Jimmy Choo Look for Less
The Jimmy Choo Leila shoes have been on my list for quite some time. They are pretty much the hottest shoes I have ever seen. Unfortunately, they are sold out. I scoured eBay for them but they only have the brown ones. I was recently out at an event and saw a girl wearing them. Of course I went up to her and asked her if those were the Jimmy Choo shoes and where she found them. She told me that they weren’t Jimmy Choos and she got them on sale at DSW. I immediately went online to hunt these amazing look-a-likes down. They are the Caparros Dalton Sandal for $39.94. Just take a look – on the top we have the Jimmy Choos and on the bottom, the Caparros:
Nars Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base ($24)
This is the best eye primer out there. This is as close as you are going to get to a magic potion in life, this stuff is AWESOME. I apply a few dots on my eyelid and blend it from lashline to browline before applying shadow.
JCPenney 1 Carat Diamond Studs ($497)
I originally posted about these during Black Friday and while I couldn’t get them then, they are still on sale. The more I think about it, the more I think that I really want a pair of studs and I think these would be perfect.
Candor 8-Bottle Wine Fridge ($99)
This was my best Black Friday score. I got it for $50, but it is still only $99. I love this little wine fridge. I will eventually get a bigger one, but this is a great starter fridge.
And there you have it…all of my favorite things!
I would love to know what your favorite things are, so please share them in the comments.
