White Collar “Ice Breaker” Recap

This week on White Collar, the writers faked us out by arresting Neal (Matt Bomer). Turns out it was really an undercover FBI mission looking into forged passports. What’s clear is that Peter (Tim DeKay) is suspicious of Neal. He knows Neal is up to something but he can’t figure out what it is.

The forgery investigation leads them to Little Odessa, where they encounter Katya (Annet Mahendru), a very talented ice skater. In order to protect themselves, Neal tells her boyfriend that they are figure skating coaches and are interested in training with Katya. The charade works and they are able to get themselves close to the operation.

506_gallery_7Back at the office, Rebecca (Bridget Regan) , from the museum heist visits the FBI office hoping to get a letter from Peter stating her innocence. Apparently, she is having trouble getting a job and blames Neal. He diverts her from Peter and says he will meet with her at their other office with the real agent in charge.

In order to be a believable coach, Peter looks to Elizabeth (Tiffani Thiessen) for her help in getting him up to speed. Apparently, she is a closet ice skating fan, but has never skated before. Peter was supposed to teach her but never did. Elizabeth wears a teal blouse. I found this Spense Trimmed Woven Collar Top ($14.49) to recreate the look:

Neal and Mozzie (Willie Garson) are up to something. They are creating a fake FBI office to meet with Rebecca in. The trick is that Neal will have to sneak out during the mission with Peter. He ends up convinces him to remove the anklet and sets up a drunk guy that Neal has to get out of the way. This allows him to sneak out while Peter is stuck on the mission for a while.

Neal and Mozzie meet with Rebecca and Mozzie posing as FBI agents. They recruit her into helping them decipher Chapter 13 of the Moscone Codex. Peter knows that Neal took off because he had Jones (Sharif Atkins) watching him. He tells Jones to look into what Neal was up to.

The next day, Elizabeth expresses her concern that Peter hasn’t gotten out of the field like he promised when he took the promotion. She is still pretty shook up about Agent Siegel’s murder. She wears a tan shift dress with a gold embellishment. I found a similar Tahari Studded Sheath Dress ($76.80) that gives you that same hint of gold embellishment:

Screen Shot 2013-12-19 at 8.15.43 PMMeanwhile the original forgery suspect was murdered, so Peter and Neal come up with an idea to bring all of the Russians together. They encourage Katya to accept Sergei’s proposal so they have a reason to celebrate. Things get tense when Sergei puts a knife to Katya’s throat to try to escape.

Peter ends up finding an FBI pen at the office building Neal and Mozzie used to meet Rebecca. He doesn’t know what is happening yet, but he knows it isn’t good. And in other news, Neal seems to really like Rebecca which could be a liability for both him and Mozzie.

At the end of the episode Peter finally takes Elizabeth ice skating. She wears a wine colored sweater. I found a White + Warren Cashmere Sweater ($164.98):

This was a really sweet moment between the two of them.

White Collar “Master Plan” Recap

This week’s White Collar was focused on Elizabeth (Tiffani Thiessen) and what better way to kick it off then a hot steamy scene with her and Peter (Tim DeKay). The only problem is that Peter is getting sick.

This week, Elizabeth is reunited with a wealthy Manhattan family that she used to tutor for in her younger days. Their son, Patrick, mysteriously disappeared and suddenly returned to the family. After seeing the son, Elizabeth is concerned that he is an imposter trying to inherit the family’s fortune and Neal (Matt Bomer) goes undercover as a butler to try and expose him.

Elizabeth wears a two-tone black and white dress, white blazer and an orange belt and matching slingback heels. To recreate this look, I found a Jax Two-Tone Ruched Jersey Dress ($148), Eliza J Ruched Sleeve Blazer ($78), orange belt ($8.99) and orange slingback pumps from Nordstrom for $59.98: orange outfitElizabeth recommends Neal for the butler job and stays close to the family by helping them with their art collection. She wears a black skirt suit, black silk blouse, nude heels and looks like she is carrying a black Birkin bag. I found a black skirt suit from The Limited (Skirt $35.97, Blazer $70.80), Silk Charmeuse Shirt ($99), Nine West Drusilla pumps ($58.99), Jane Bag ($159): black suitNeal is busy trying to get a DNA sample from Patrick, but it is proving to be harder than he thought. Patrick is doing a good job of not leaving a clue about his identity. He does have a lot of information about his past with Elizabeth, which is puzzling. Either he is the real deal or he is getting information from someone.

In the meantime, Mozzie (Willie Garson) is living with Neal and has been trying his patience by trying to keep bees on the balcony. It ends up working out for Peter when Mozzie uses the honey to come up with a concoction to cure Peter’s flu symptoms.

The team finally figures out that Patrick is after the trust fund and Elizabeth decides she needs to confront him and force a DNA test. Patrick takes the test to prove them wrong. Elizabeth wears a beautiful periwinkle dress. I found a similar periwinkle dress at Modcloth ($199.99):

Unfortunately, the blood test was a match for the real Patrick. Because of this, Elizabeth gets fired as their art buyer. The family doesn’t want anyone around that questions Patrick. This leaves Neal on his own to figure out what is going on. He follows Patrick to take the dog to the vet, but discovers that Patrick has a device implanted that can use someone else’s blood. But this means that he must have the real Patrick alive somewhere.

In the end, Neal and Peter find the real Patrick and bring him home to the family. Elizabeth wears a mixed media tweed dress. I found a similar colorblock tweed sheath dress from Ann Taylor ($139):

I always love to see more Elizabeth on White Collar so this is one of my favorite episodes so far this season. I also loved seeing Neal as a butler, he really is a great con man.

White Collar “Controlling Interest” Recap

This week on White Collar, Peter (Tim DeKay) and Neal (Matt Bomer) mourn the loss of Agent Siegel (Warren Kole). Unfortuntely, there are few leads and the team needs to continue working on active cases.

Peter wants to start on a boring accounting case, until someone walks into the office and confesses to a crime. A very weird crime that he can’t remember the details of.

WC

The investigation takes an odd turn when the bank won’t report anything stolen. The team finds a common link between the thief and the owner of the safety deposit box, a psychiatrist, Dr. Mara Summers (Elizabeth Marvel). Summers was treating our thief for his compulsions as a felon. So of course, Neal goes undercover to pose as one of her patients.

504_gallery_7

After the first session, Neal realizes that Dr. Summers drugged him and that is how she manipulates her patients over time. This is a problem for Neal because he has no idea what he may have told her under the influence. The only way to find out is to have Mozzie (Willie Garson) drug him again to remember their conversation.

This takes a turn when Neal decides to confess his sins to Peter while he is under the influence. Elizabeth (Tiffani Thiessen) and Peter find the whole situation weird, but Peter starts to use this to his advantage and ask Neal questions about Seigel. Thank goodness Mozzie rescues him in the nick of time before he gets himself into trouble.

Elizabeth wears white jeans, a navy sweater and a brown cardigan. I found a Michael Kors Tank ($23.70), a Kim Rodgers Cardigan ($28.80) and Gap Skinny Jeans ($22.99):

In a classic move, Neal decides to drug the doctor and get her to confess to the crime. What’s interesting is that when Peter went to retrieve the $2 million it wasn’t there. Neal went there first and got the money to give to Mozzie to get him back on his feet.

504_gallery_6

Neal decides that he is still a criminal and he likes being one. He is coming back to the life with Mozzie, but he has too many masters and needs to cut some out.

WOW! I didn’t see that coming. What do you think Neal will do next?

White Collar “One Last Stakeout” Recap

Neal (Matt Bomer) is bonding with his new handler David Seigel (Warren Kole) this week on White Collar. Well he is mostly trying to figure out how to handle his illegal business without Seigel finding out. We learn a little more about Seigel, that he comes from money but left all of it to do the right thing. He seems to be a genuinely good guy.

1 - Neal and Seigel

Curtis Hagan a.k.a. The Dutchman (Mark Sheppard) officially gets released and he still is pulling Neal’s strings. He gives Neal an almost impossible task and forces him to be creative to accomplish it.

In the meantime, Peter (Tim DeKay) promotes Clinton Jones (Sharif Atkins) to take over his old position. Neal and Mozzie (Willie Garson ) convince someone else to rob a museum as a distraction so they can actually rob it without getting caught.

Peter is having a hard time enjoying the perks of his new position, even when they include suite tickets to a Yankees game. He takes Elizabeth (Tiffani Thiessen) along with him and she tries to convince him to rip off the band-aid and let Seigel handle Neal. Elizabeth wears a mint green blouse with jeans and heels to the baseball game. I found a similar mint blouse from Spense ($17.39):

Caffrey’s break in doesn’t go quite as planned because Peter shows up unexpectedly. He improvises, but realizes that he may have left his fingerprints at the crime scene. To get Peter to leave, Neal comes down a little harsh on him. Peter leaves and heads back to meet Elizabeth with some friends. For her drink with friends Elizabeth wears an off-the-shoulder red dress. I found a similar Tadashi Shoji dress ($138):

red dress

The consequences from his actions pile up, including getting the curator from the museum fired and having Peter think it is his fault for throwing Neal off his game.

When he meets with Hagan, Seigel follows him and starts to suspect Neal of something more. Unfortunately, Seigel doesn’t get the chance to confront Neal because he is murdered out of nowhere. Peter and Neal go to investigate the crime scene and Peter says it was a mugging gone wrong, but somehow I don’t think that is true.

I can’t believe they killed of Seigel so soon. I was just starting to like him.

White Collar “Out of the Frying Pan” Recap

This week on White Collar, Neal (Matt Bomer) gets a new handler, David Seigel (Warren Kole). This makes things especially interesting as he is still being blackmailed by the Dutchman. To finish off his payment for Peter’s (Tim DeKay) release, Neal has to destroy the evidence at FBI headquarters that is going to be used in the Dutchman’s trial.

The other catch, is that their case leads them to Mozzie (Willie Garson). Neal and Mozzie are able to evade the Feds because Seigel doesn’t know his connection to Neal yet. But this does him no good when Diana (Marsha Thomason) starts investigating and catches him in the act.

Diana ends up giving birth and Mozzie has to help her deliver the baby. Because of this, she ends up letting him off the hook.

At the hospital, Elizabeth (Tiffani Thiessen) wears mint jeans, a white blouse and a beige cardigan.

I created this look for less with the Mavi Jeans ($39.99), Charter Club Top ($19.99) and Charter Club Cardigan ($24.99):

White Collar “At What Price” Recap

I have to admit that one of the reasons I love watching White Collar is for Tiffani Thiessen. Her character Elizabeth Burke is so likeable. For one, her name is Elizabeth (and I love that they call her Elle sometimes – I never thought of that for a nickname), she has a great job as an event planner and she has a classy but fashionable wardrobe that I love. Why should Neal Caffrey (Matt Bomer) have all the fun?

I thought I would save one more TV spot for White Collar and cover Elizabeth’s wardrobe this season. In the first scene she answers the age-old question of what to wear when you visit your husband in prison? Elizabeth wears a black dress with gold piping. I found three very similar options, the first a Rebecca Taylor sheath dress ($385), the second a Calvin Klein zigzag dress ($86.99) that also comes in a plus size, and the third a Calvin Klein dress with zipper detail ($59.99): gold dress

Neal is finally able to free Peter (Tim DeKay), but to do it he is now under the thumb of the Dutchman who is blackmailing him. This will definitely come back to bite him and he should probably come clean to Peter sooner rather than later. This will only end badly. Elizabeth and Peter have a touching reunion once he gets out of court and is finally free to go home. She wears a black skirt and blazer with a white blouse, black crocodile pumps and a red and black bag.

You can get this look with Nine West’s Charly pumps ($58.99), INC blouse ($72.50), Giani Bernini leather tote ($117.99), Kenneth Cole Drape Front Blazer ($39.99), and the New Directions pencil skirt ($24.99):

Peter’s instincts are on point; at the end of the episode he confides in Elizabeth that he thinks there is more to the story. He caught on that Neal’s tracker doesn’t seem to be working and although he can’t prove it, he does swap it out for a brand new one. It will be interesting to see how Neal’s new handler will deal with him now that Peter is getting promoted.

Elizabeth wears an orange button up blouse and a beige cardigan. I found an orange button-down crepe blouse from Charlotte Russe ($22.99) and a long-sleeve sweater at Macy’s ($39.99):

Just when you think Neal is keeping his nose clean, he gets pulled back in!
