Its time for another Pinspired with Shay at MixandMatchMama, Sheaffer at Pinterest Told Me To and Mel at The Larson Lingo. This is a fun challenge to recreate a look from Pinterest.
I recently announced my upcoming Sip Happens Party, where I plan to have my closest gal pals over for a fun wine tasting. The wine we chose, 14 Hands Hot to Trot, is inspired by the wild horses of Washington state. For my party, I thought it would be cool if I went with an equestrian theme. So I figured we could wear our best equestrian themed outfits, which means I need a new outfit (see how that works?). I found a few different equestrian looks on Pinterest that I will use to come up with one of my own.
The most important part of this look is the riding pants, and I think I found the perfect ones with a faux leather patch at the knee. These Michael Kors Riding Pants come in black and chocolate for $99.50:
I found a few different tops to mix and match depending on how much coverage you want with the pants. The first is this Bar III Tweed Faux Leather Blazer ($94.99) which would match perfectly with the pants:
This Ralph Lauren Zippered Crew Neck Top ($36.98) also gives the Equestrian vibe and there are lots of color options:
If you want something longer, this Halogen Cashmere Tunic ($128) does the trick. The camel would look great with either color pant:
The riding boots are needed to complete the outfit. There are so many cute ones to choose from, but alas, I have a wide calf and my selection is limited. I did find these Reilly Double Buckle wide-calf boots in my size that have both brown and black options. They are a steal at $54.96:
Unfortunately, when I went to buy the Reilly boots, they were sold out in brown, so I got these Celia Faux Suede Back Riding Boots ($49.96) instead. I also searched and found a 30% off one item coupon code that worked (AV131272) so that bumped the price down even more!
If you really want to complete the look, try adding this Burberry Wool Silk Scarf ($150) nothing says equestrian more than Burberry:
