Hooray for the new season of The Bachelorette! Andi seems like a great choice for this season, smart, beautiful and knows what she wants. If you’ve seen some of the promos for Andi’s season, then you’ve wondered about her gold dress. Well not to fear, I have it and a great look for less. Andi is wearing the Val Stefani Strapless Gown with Sweep Train ($598). DressFirst has a similar dress for $197.99 that is a great alternative. The picture only has pink shown, but they have it in gold:
My big comment as the show kicks off is the promo with Andi talking about how much she loves her job and how awesome it is. Flash forward two minutes and now she is giving it up for a TV show where the majority of the contestants don’t find love. Hmmmmmm…I just felt like that was a sort of misleading intro. It will be interesting to see what Andi does with her life after The Bachelorette is over.
Since we last saw her, Andi has received The Bachelorette makeover. She is looking fit and has gotten rid of that awful ombre hair (normally I like the ombre look, but I didn’t like it on her). She is also getting the wardrobe, as witnessed by her intro shopping trip in California. During the shopping trip she wears the Free People Ethereal Daze Ginger Sheer Panel Envelope Tank ($78):
She also wears the White Double Chain Bar Necklace from BouCou Jewelry ($42):
Andi also tries on this Civilianare Military Dress ($195) maybe we’ll see it sometime this season:
On the beach, Andi wears the Crocheted Lace Shorts from Express ($41.94):
Under her hoodie, Andi wears the Voda Envy Push Up Braid Halter & Hipster Bikini ($77 for the top $51 for the bottom):
As Andi enters the house to greet Chris Harrison and kick off this crazy journey, she wears the A.L.C. Lily Top ($280), which you can get here, here and here. A.L.C. has a similar Harper Twist Back Tank for $165 or you can get this Charlotte Russe version for $4.99:
She is also wearing her beautiful Michael Kors Large Runway Watch ($275) from last season:
Andi’s sister visits to help her get ready for the first night. They fake us out and make us think she is going to wear the gold lame dress, but surprise! She looked stunning in her rose ceremony dress (I’m glad she went with this one as opposed to the gold lame). The dress is designed by Brian Rennie for Basler. This gown is a one of a kind runway piece, which can be produced in each size on demand. If you are interested you can private message Basler here on Facebook. This Floor Length Sleeveless Jewel Embellished Dress ($343) is similar:
If you liked the other dress better, it was the David Meister Pleated Halter Gown ($197.28):
Here are some of the men that stood out to me:
The Good
Marquel – he brought her cookies! Need I say more…
Tasos – gets most creative gimmick for the night. I figured he had to step it up since he’s a wedding planner, but I don’t think the lock thing has ever been done on the first night before, so I liked it.
Eric Hill – Eric seems like a great guy, I’m not sure if he would fit into Andi’s lifestyle, but I can’t imagine what girl wouldn’t want to be his travel companion. This is bittersweet as Eric has since passed away after filming the show. Hopefully, his time on the show will be a tribute to who he was and a chance for the world to know him.
Josh M. – Josh and Andi seem to have a lot in common and she seemed really into him right off the bat.
Nick V. – Nick got the first impression rose, I’m not really sure why, but I think it was because he was so opposite of her normal type and she wanted to try something different for a change.
Chris is probably my favorite. He was super cute and is a successful farmer. I’m not sure he is Andi’s type, but I won’t mind watching him for the next few months.
The Bad
Emil – I’m sorry did he just say “Anal” on TV?
Brett – he brought her a stolen lamp from his hotel room. Other than the fact that she is a district attorney and he just stole a lamp, I don’t get what he was going for. He should have at least had a witty pickup line to accompany the lamp.
Jason – As an urgent care physician you think he would have been smarter than to use a lame pickup line like “I’m a doctor and I can tell that you might have a fever because you look hot.” I probably laughed about this for 20 minutes.
Cody – Cody comes up pushing the limo with a popped collar, need I say more…
JJ – What exactly is a Pantsapreneur? I hate to break it to you but pants have already been invented.
Chris Bukowski – I’m not sure why he came back, but it was totally staged and pointless. The producers obviously set him up to come out there (he wasn’t there for a whole week regardless of what he said). He was miked up and everything. What may have been the wild card factor is Andi not wanting to see him. Which was a wise choice for her, because if she saw what a tool he was on Bachelor Pad that decision was a no brainer.
At the rose ceremony, Andi eliminated: Emil (shocker), Jason, Josh B., Mike and Rudie.
Some of you may have noticed that to accomodate the shortened time, ABC cut out the intro videos that they normally do in the first episode. Well not to worry, I’ve added them below for your viewing pleasure! At the beginning of all of these promos, Andi wears the Aqua Grecian Pleated Blouson ($258). I found a similar Pleated Bodice and Skirt from Eliza J ($158) for one hundred less and there are a few sizes at Nordstrom for $94.80:
We also have a few deleted scenes to watch this week. The first one are the long hair don’t care boys talking hair tips:
In this clip, the Rosemaster himself breaks a glass and reveals that this has happened before:
Who knew that Andi’s dad decided to surprise her on the first night?:
He jokes around with some of the bachelors:
Andi and her dad have a touching moment as she walks him out:
I enjoy reading Bachelor spoilers and if you are interested in finding out what happens in advance you can check out Reality Steve for more information. He also has great behind the scenes details on which cast-offs are dating and who is going take the final rose this season.
