True Blood “You’re No Good” Recap

Who’s ready for some True Blood? Episode three starts to explore the various storylines of Season 6.

Eric, Pam & Tara

At the end of last week’s episode, Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) paid a visit to the governor’s daughter Willa (Amelia Rose Blaire). His intent is to get revenge on the governor, but before he can kill Willa, the SWAT team finds him and they have to relocate.

willa-eric-1

Eric takes her to Fangtasia and tells Pam (Kristin Bauer Van Straten) and Tara (Rutina Wesley) to pack up their stuff because the Governor’s men won’t be far behind. We learn that Willa is against the experiments that her father is doing on the vampires. She tells Eric that her father has built a camp to study the vampires.

Willa wears an ivory Jonquil robe ($96) and nightgown ($120):

We see Steve Newlin (Michael McMillian) getting strongarmed into the vampire camp to be tortured and experimented on.

True-Blood-Season-6-Video

Pam and Tara are against Eric kidnapping Willa. He argues that she is their leverage and he wants to keep her alive. They go to Ginger’s (Tara Buck) house to hideout during the day.

Eric and Willa sleep in Ginger’s coffin and Willa tells him that her mother had an affair with a vampire and moved to Hollywood, which explains her father’s crusade.

Back at the vampire camp, Sarah (Anna Camp) visits Steve and gives him a piece of her mind. She is now in the position to get revenge and she takes full advantage of it. She has carried on their vision from the Fellowship of the Sun. The interrogators want to learn everything Steve knows about Eric Northman. Sarah wears a Black Halo Jacket Dress ($375) and the Tiffany Keys Crown Pendant ($1950):

She accessorizes the dress with a Kate Spade Bow Leather Belt ($68):

The governor finally tracks down Eric’s phone number and gives him a call. Ginger stupidly answers the phone so the governor can start tracking his location. Eric tells the governor that he will kill Willa because of the actions he has taken against vampires. Eric tries to bargain, but before he can seal the deal Tara escapes with the Willa.

Bill & Jessica

Bill (Stephen Moyer) explains his vision to Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) and tells her that she dies in his vision. After his vision, Bill is convinced that the sunlight won’t hurt him anymore. Jessica desperately convinces him to come inside but he is firm in his belief. Unfortunately, he is wrong and catches on fire at first light. So much for that theory…

True.6.3

Bill assigns Jessica to help him get the man responsible for synthesizing True Blood, a professor at the local university. He tells her to dress sexy as the professor has a thing for young women. She wears the Elbow Patch Varsity Cardigan from Forever 21 ($22.80), the Pleated Mini Skirt in Olive Plaid from Tripp NYC ($23.95) and Gipsy Mock Zigzag-Garter Tight from Urban Outfitters ($14):

Jessica flirts with the professor and asks him for some private tutoring as a guise to kidnap him.

Bill visits Sookie and asks for her help in making sure that his vision doesn’t come true. She doesn’t invite him in, but it doesn’t matter because he doesn’t need an invitation anymore. He wants her blood and is going to use the professor to synthesize it. She refuses his offer and he tells her that she is dead to him.

TB_603_001-660x330

On his way home from Sookie’s house Bill runs into Andy Bellfleur. He learns that Andy has children know and can smell the fairy scent.

Sookie & Jason

Jason (Ryan Kwanten) and the fairy grandfather are still protecting Sookie (Anna Paquin) against Warlow. The fairy grandfather takes off to the fairy safe haven and discovers it ransacked by a very powerful vampire.

Jason isn’t looking so good and Sookie insists that he gets some rest. He admits that he has been hallucinating for the past few days and that their parents had been encouraging him to kill vampires. It is a nice scene between them as she explains to him that their parents had their faults, just like everyone else does.

She wears the Slub Knit Raglan Sweater from Forever 21 ($17.80):

Fairy grandfather runs into Ben (Rob Kazinsky) as he is looking for the fairy haven. He recruits Ben to help him hunt down Warlow and return to Sookie’s house. Ben tries to make nice with Sookie, but she really isn’t in the mood after Bill’s visit. She starts to warm up to him and wonders why she can feel him listening to her thoughts, but she can’t feel other fairies.

Jason has had one too many concussions and ends up collapsing.

Andy

Holly (Lauren Bowles) visits Andy (Chris Bauer) at the police station and she is surprised by how much his daughters have grown. She is being harassed by vampires, so Andy takes her to the range to teach her how to shoot. There is still some chemistry between them, but she is still hurt that he cheated on her.

true-blood-season-6-andy-holly

Alcide

After Alcide (Joe Manganiello) and the pack steal Emma, they are visited by the police who are looking for Emma. They search the property but Rikki (Kelly Overton) gets her to shift at the last minute. Rikki doesn’t agree with Alcide taking Emma and there is definitely dissension in the ranks.

Sam

Sam (Sam Trammell) wakes up and realizes that the werewolves stole Emma (Chloe Noelle) back to their camp.

Sam’s new Vampire Unity Society friends track down the werewolves’ camp to try to recruit them for the cause. They secretly try to record them which angers the wolves. Rikki loses her cool and changes in front of them. The rest of the pack ends up massacring the group. During the chaos Sam sneaks in and rescues Emma.

Falling Skies “Search and Recover” Recap

In the last episode of Falling Skies, Pope (Colin Cunningham), Tom (Noah Wyle) and General Bressler were in a plane about ready to crash. As this episode opens we see Tom saving Pope just in the nick of time as the plane was blowing up. Unfortunately, General Bressler didn’t make it.

Flash back to Charleston and Ben (Connor Jessup) wakes up Hal (Drew Roy) and Maggie (Sarah Carter) to tell them that Anne (Moon Bloodgood) and Alexis are missing. Dr. Kadar (Robert Sean Leonard) fills everyone in on Anne’s discovery that Alexis is not human, but some sort of hybrid. Col. Weaver (Will Patton) wants to send out a search party immediately, but Ms. Peralta (Gloria Reuben) tells him that they can’t afford to spare anyone right now. She finally agrees, but she wants to discuss how to handle the baby if they do find them.

Back in the woods, Pope wakes up and yells at Tom for being too busy with the big picture to focus on finding the mole back in Charleston. This conversation has to wrap up quickly, as the Espheni start to scout the wreckage for survivors.

The search and rescue party stumble upon a body and Matt (Maxim Knight) wants to bury her.

In the meantime, Marina Peralta goes to meet with Dr. Kadar to talk about the Volm project. Now that she is in charge, she wants more details than Tom was willing to give her. She lies and tells him that Tom Mason asked her to come and talk to him.

FS_S3_Ep5_Marina_Roger5_LARGE

Tom and Pope set up camp for the night and bond over the campfire. I forgot that Pope had two kids before the invasion. We get a little insight into both of their pasts. At the end of the night we learn that Pope still doesn’t trust Tom.

falling_skies_305

In the morning, Pope plays a joke on Tom and drops a snake on his head to wake him up. This starts a fight and Pope and Tom finally have it out, until they hear the Espheni approaching. To escape, they end up jumping into a giant waterfall. When they wash up on shore, Tom realizes that he has broken his ankle.

The rescue party finds Alexis’ blanket. Maggie notices that Hal has been acting weird all day (although we know that he knows what happened to Anne and Alexis). The trail dies and the search party has to head home.

Tom can’t put any weight on his ankle and he tells Pope to leave him. Pope tries to reason with him, but Tom seems to have given up hope. Tom calls him a fake and berates him until he finally leaves.

Dr. Kadar tells Peralta that the Volm device is built with way more power than it needs, basically overkill. This leads them to believe that the device is more than what the Volm have told them.

Tom hears the Espheni coming for him and it looks like he is a goner, until Pope shoes up and saves the day. Pope found a truck and is able to transport them both back to Charleston. He really is a good guy to have around in a crisis.

Falling-Skies-search-and-recover-Tom-with-a-gun

Tom wakes up in the hospital after two days and Pope is waiting for him. He decides that they are even after saving each other’s lives. His family comes to visit him, but they only have bad news when they have to tell him what happened to Anne and Alexis.

images

I’m not sure what to think about this episode, it was more about character development than moving the plot along. It will be interesting to see how Tom reacts to the news about Anne and Alexis. I also think that Marina could lead a major coup against Tom and the Volm.

Graceland “Pizza Box” Recap

This week’s episode begins with Paige (Serinda Swan) going undercover to make a drug bust. She gets arrested to keep up appearances and finds a new strain of marijuana on her bust. I smell a new case coming on. Paige wears a fur vest as part of her undercover persona. I found a similar one at QVC for $94.32:

Back at Graceland, Charlie (Vanessa Ferlito) is telling the house the story behind her great-great-grandmother Francesca’s famous spaghetti sauce. It apparently takes three days to make and is amazing.

Francesca's Sauce

Francesca’s Sauce

Paige can’t get the DEA to approve her case so she needs to bring Jakes (Brandon Jay McLaren) and Johnny (Manny Montana) in to meet with the potential mark. Because they are working his angle with Latin gang contacts Charlie has to give Johnny some fake gang tattoos to look the part.

Mike (Aaron Tveit) is still flirting with Abby (Jenn Proske), his new love interest but Briggs (Daniel Sunjata) interrupts with a call and new assignment from Bello (Gbenga Akinnagbe). When they meet with Eddie (Sheaun McKinney) they find that he is seriously injured from the last encounter they had with Bello. The good new is that Bello still trusts them, the bad news is that he wants to speak with Mike alone. After his demonstration with the bears last week Bello wants Mike to teach his men how to shoot.

Jakes brings Johnny to meet his old contact, Ashika Pearl (Mia Kirshner). The initial introduction was a little dicey – Johnny almost blew it by going overboard on his Latin gang member impersonation. Ashika invites Jakes to come out the “the farm” where it is their job to get eyes on the illegal plants that she is growing.

Mike goes to teach Bello’s men how to handle and shoot their guns. The government has instructed him to stall, not really teaching them anything valuable. He has to convince them that they aren’t actually going to be shooting anything, but learn to understand their weapons.

Jakes, Johnny and Ashika meet at the farm to have dinner. Unfortunately, Ashika won’t show them the plants until the morning. Paige tries to call the sting off and Jakes wants to leave. Johnny insists on staying (mostly because he is trying to get laid) and stays for dinner with Ashika.

Eddie assaults Mike because he doesn’t trust him, but Mike is able to take him down. Eddie suspects that Mike and Briggs are the reason he got double-crossed in the last episode. They decide to bring Eddie in and play upon Bello’s trust issues. Charlie meets with Eddie and lays it out as if they are setting Eddie up to take the fall with Bello. They give Eddie the chance to walk away, we will see if he takes it.

Meanwhile at the farm, Johnny ends up sleeping with Ashika. She figures out he is a fake because his henna tattoos run off on the sheets.

7_109

Ashika launches a shootout in the barn, but Paige ends up saving the day.

NUP_152663_0054.jpg

Finally, Francesca’s sauce is ready, but before Mike can enjoy it he gets called away by Bello. Bello brings Eddie out to teach the rest of his men not to betray him. The irony is that Eddie was right all along but Bello doesn’t believe him. He gives Eddie Mike’s gun and Eddie takes his own life. Mike is so shaken up by this that he ends up bailing on his date with Abby. He tells her that he saw someone die in a car accident and she is sweet and tells him to go home.

When he gets back home all of the sauce night dishes are waiting for him. He is visibly upset by what he witnessed and doing the dishes almost seems therapeutic.

This was an interesting episode. It really highlighted the differences between Mike and Briggs. Mike showed concern for Eddie’s life and Briggs said that he signed up for it and didn’t seem to care. I hope that Mike continues to keep that vulnerable side of his personality because that’s what will keep him human throughout all of this.

Necessary Roughness “Swimming with Sharks” Recap

The new format of Necessary Roughness takes a little getting used to. I find it a little odd that we are being pushed to forget all of the old storylines and just move on. In the beginning scene of this week’s episode it is really obvious that the show is trying to account for these loose ends because we see Dani (Callie Thorne) trying to contact her son, Ray Jay to no avail. It is weird that her kids haven’t really been present in the first few episodes and we really don’t know what happened with Juliet and Ray Jay.

I’m willing to accept the new format, but anytime they address the old stuff I think it comes off as very awkward in the flow of the show. I am interested to see how this will work in the next few episodes. I hope everything will come full circle.

Dani attempts to make her daughter, Lindsay (Hannah Marks), breakfast but she has to run out the door.  In this scene she is wearing some of he fashion staples from last week including her Gucci Peep Toe Buckle Pumps ($615), her Gucci Leather Horsebit Belt ($275) and her Michael Kors Jet Set East West Top Zip Tote ($248).

I was finally able to identify her “D” charm as the Alphabet Charm from Helen Ficarola:

Helen Ficalora Charm

Helen Ficalora Charm

As she heads off to V3, Dani runs into TK (Mehcad Brooks) showing off his first print ad for Machismo. He is proud of his new ad and that he has finally reached his one-year anniversary of sobriety. Paloma (Karissa Lee Staples) interrupts with Dani’s schedule and lets her know that Friday night is MV3, a monthly cocktail party where Connor (John Stamos) gives out a bonus check to an MVP for the month.

Paloma wears a black peplum dress. I found a similar dress from Alice + Olivia ($264):

Alice + Olivia Peplum Dress

Connor takes Dani to a basketball game to meet a potential new client. Everything seems to be going smoothly, until one of the players, Devon Langer (Sinqua Walls), gets a little out of control on the court. The catch? Langer isn’t one of Connor’s clients, but he wants Dani to help bring him in. Dani agrees to help Langer, as long as she can focus on helping him and not try to win him over to the agency.

She layers her navy blazer from the season premiere (Calvin Klein Navy Blazer $89.95) with the Joie Rancher Top ($158), her Helen Ficarola charm (see above) and an Anna Beck Bali Cuff ($412):

pink blouse

Dani meets with Langer (who mentions he grew up in Detroit – shoutout!) with his single mom. Langer’s free throw percentage has gone from 80 percent to 40 percent in the past year, so Dani tries to figure out what has changed in his life. Dani starts working with Langer on his muscle memory and gets him to focus on going back to the basics of his free throw. Everything is going great and we get to meet Langer’s mother, Lana (Gabrielle Beauvais), who is more like a friend then a mother.

In the meantime, Connor, Troy (David Anders) and Nico (Scott Cohen) are dealing with an attack on V3. Someone has messed with the phone system and Connor thinks that another agency is going to try and steal clients. They get the phones back up but find out that they’ve been hacked. Connor receives a mysterious package of  “dirty laundry” from SBG Managament, the agency that represents Devon Langer.

Back at V3, Paloma (Karissa Lee Staples) fills Dani in on the phone system crisis and the V3 agency party. Paloma wears a sold out L’Agence Pleated Bodice Dress. I found a similar style from Calvin Klein ($96):

Sheath dress

Nico and Troy figure out a way to get back at the hackers by giving them a code that can be downloaded, in essence hacking the hackers. Troy doesn’t seem to trust him just yet and we realize just how paranoid Troy is when he has Nico followed.

At Langer’s game everything is going great and he takes Dani’s advice on his free throw. It works and he gets a great momentum going. Unfortunately, he starts to lose his focus when Lana starts a fight with the referee getting them both kicked out of the game.

Now that TK has reached one year of sobriety it means that he can start dating again. A woman approaches him and asks him on a date because of his new Machismo ad. TK is pleased because he’s still got it! TK’s date with Abby (Autumn Reeser) goes very well until he finds out that she is a managing partner at SBG and that their “date” was really a sales pitch. She gets his attention by promising him loyalty…and Nike.

Dani meets with Langer and his mother, Lana for a session to work through their problems. She tries to get them to set some boundries, but Lana blows up at Dani and Langer defends her. The session ends badly with Lana and Langer storming out.

TK comes to Connor to inform him about his “date” with Abby a.k.a. “Bruce.” Connor tells TK that V3 has a 98 percent retention rate but he is free to leave anytime. The caveat is that once you walk out on V3 you don’t get to come back. TK decides to stay at V3 in the end. He also meets a beautiful model at V3 who just became a new client. Will she be a new love interest for TK?

Dani meets with Langer to try to help him again. She has discovered his real problem is that he has anger and tension towards his mother. Langer also has tension directed at his teammate, Kyle Burke, who we discover is sleeping with Langer’s mother.

Dani wears her white blazer from Episode 2 (Jones New York $79), an orange and white print blouse and covered peep toe wedges. I found a similar printed blouse from Sandra Ingrish ($54) and wedges from Pour La Victoire Lena ($227.99):

Necessary Roughness

orange blouse

Langer opens up about his mom and he is worried that history will repeat itself. Lana was depressed in the past and tried to commit suicide. Langer wants to keep her happy because he doesn’t want her to fall into a depression again. Dani and Langer agree to work through this with Lana.

Nico brings the hacker to Connor and Troy and convinces them to poach the hacker by hiring him to hack SBG. At the end of the episode Nico reveals that he is playing Troy and Connor and that the hack/agency war was an elaborate scheme to get a peek at V3’s books. We also learn that Nico is spying for someone, we just aren’t sure who it is yet.

Connor ends up getting Langer to come to V3 by poaching Langer’s agent. We also learn that Bruce broke Connor’s heart. When his father was dying Bruce stole his clients and files and started her own agency. Wow…that is harsh.

At the end of the episode we see Lindsey blowing Dani off for a sleepover and Ray J finally calling her back. This means that she has time to attend the MV3 party. At the party, Dani gets a huge bonus for bringing in new clients and is named the MV3. Dani is still uncomfortable with all of the glitz, glamour and money of this position but I think she will ultimately give in.

Dani wears a Yigal Azrouel Tucked Crepe Dress ($432):

Yigal Azroul Dress

Yigal Azroul Dress

What are your thoughts about this episode? The dynamic between Nico and Dani is interesting. They are still very flirtatious, but he is keeping her at arm’s length. I can’t see her with Connor though, he is too intense and doesn’t seem to be her type.

In case you missed it you can still watch the episode here.

Mistresses “A Kiss is Just a Kiss” Recap

Episode 4 begins with Joss (Jes Macallan) and Harry (Brett Tucker) bantering in the kitchen, while Savi (Alyssa Milano) is at a doctor’s appointment confirming her pregnancy. The characters keep falling deeper into their own problems.

Savi

Savi tells Karen (Yunjin Kim) and April (Rachelle Aytes) that she is pregnant and they try to make her feel better by telling her that the baby is probably Harry’s (fat chance!). She is convinced that she has to tell Harry the truth, which I think is silly. I love how she thinks that everything will be okay if she just tells the truth…WRONG – he will probably kick your cheating butt to the curb!

She wears a sold-out Zac Posen dress in this scene. I found a similar asymmetrical cut dress by Ivy & Blu for $91.90:

Zac Posen Dress

Zac Posen Dress

Savi sets up an appointment to test the paternity of her baby. The appointment runs long and Savi needs to get Dominic (Jason George) to fill in for her in court. This makes up for her getting him kicked off the case in the previous episode.

She can test the paternity of the baby, but it will take a few weeks to get the results back. Now she just needs to get a sample from Harry.

Joss

Joss is building her friendship with Alex (Shannyn Sossamon) and Sally by hiking, although Joss isn’t much of a hiker. She wears the LuluLemon Wunder Under Crop pants in the Mirage Indigo print. You can still find some on eBay for around $100.

Lululemon Wunder Under Crop Pants

Lululemon Wunder Under Crop Pants

Sally confides in Joss that she has been a good friend to Alex and that they have been fighting less since they have been looking for a house. There is some foreshadowing here that Joss might become a problem in their relationship.

Joss talks to Savi about Alex’s relationship and she decides that Alex and Sally should break up because Alex is miserable. This just seems ridiculous to me. This is definitely a case of someone sticking their nose in where it doesn’t belong.

Alex invites Joss to a party because Sally had to cancel. Alex is getting hit on at the party and Joss pretends to be her girlfriend and kisses her (WTF was she thinking? So inappropriate and out of left field). Alex is upset by this and leaves.

Joss wears an All Saints Beige Restrain Skirt, which is sold out. I found two alternative options at Ann Taylor ($275) and Saks Fifth Avenue ($132):

All Saints Skirt

She also wears the Brandy Melville Mirella tank ($24.70) which is sold out, but there is a similar one here for $36 (ID Source: WornOnTV). Alex wears a sold out Betsey Johnson maxi dress, I found another maxi dress from Asos for $81.46 that is just as cute and would work for an evening event.

Joss and Alex

Little Mistress Maxi Dress

Little Mistress Maxi Dress

Alex ends up showing up at Joss’ door and tells her that she broke up with Sally. She temporarily moves in with Joss at Harry and Savi’s guest house.

April

April gets a visit from an attorney representing Miranda Nickelby (Kate Beahan) informing her that Miranda plans to sue if she refuses to pay child support. April meets with Savi to discuss her options. Savi is the voice of reason and tells her not to give Miranda a dime until she has proof. Savi gives April good advice and tells her to handle it in court. April doesn’t want her daughter to find out and is hesitant about going to court.

She wears the Hayley Oversized Top from Gypsy 05 that is sold out, but you can get the same print in a button-up version ($187) or in a similar print ($143):

Gypsy 05 top

Gypsy 05 top

April meets Miranda at her store to try to get more information about her and Paul’s relationship. She finds out that Miranda and Paul had been seeing each other for over a year and that Paul had planned to leave April. During the conversation Scotty hurts himself and they have to take him to the hospital. April pays the medical bills and I believe this is when she changes her mind and starts to feel sorry for Miranda’s situation.

At the end of the episode we see Miranda paying off the attorney who was really an actor. There is something fishy going on here.

Karen

Karen finishes up a yoga class and finds Sam’s (Erik Stocklin) wallet in her car. Just when she thought she was done with him, he left something behind. Now this is typically a chick move, the ole’ “Oh, I left something at your place, can I come and pick it up?” Funny how Sam is not too far away from desperate.

Karen finds Sam's Wallet

Karen finds Sam’s Wallet

The smart thing to do in this situation would be to mail the wallet back to Sam, but in four episodes, I’ve learned that Karen is not that bright when it comes to this kid. She instead takes the wallet to his apartment and tries to squeeze it in his mailbox. She is surprised to run into him and she finds out that he decided to drop out of school.

Sam invites Karen up to the apartment so he can explain that he is dropping out of school to pursue photography. He invites her to dinner (WARNING: Karen, what are you thinking?). Sam tries to kiss Karen and she rushes off. I can’t believe she didn’t see this coming, Sam is totally obsessed with her.

I think Joss and Karen are playing with fire, what did you think about Episode 4? Savi is in a big mess, it will be interesting to see how she handles it.

Bachelorette Week 5 Recap

This week on the Bachelorette, Desiree and the guys visit Munich, Germany for their first international location. They run into Chris Harrison, who tells us that we have three dates this week with roses on the line for each of them. We have a one-on-one date, a group date and the dreaded two-on-one date (yikes!).

The first date card is for Chris, which says, in German, “In Munich, we can fall in love with each other.” Since it is Desiree’s first time in Europe they decide to explore Munich.

Desiree wears a sold out army sherpa jacket and the Steve Madden Intyce boots ($148.95). I found a similar looking Moto Jacket from Jou Jou for $44.90.

Munich Date Outfit

Back at the hotel, Bryden is having second thoughts about his feelings for Desiree and he decides to leave the show. A couple of notes on this:

1. Why didn’t he leave last week? He stole someone else’s spot, plus he didn’t need to waste time and money by coming to Germany.
2. According to Reality Steve, Bryden was photographed making out with a girl before he came on the show and now he is back together with that same girl…coincidence? I think not. To read more about the situation, click here.
3. Why did he have to do it in the middle of Chris’ date, that was bull****.

During Desiree’s ITM (In the Moment interviews), she wore the Townsen Tribal Intarsia Sweater ($79.20).

Townsen Tribal Sweater

Townsen Tribal Sweater

In the meantime, the group date card comes and it says “Will you climb the highest mountain for me?” It includes Juan Pablo, James, Kasey, Zak, Brooks and Mikey. This means that Michael and Ben get the two-on-one date.

Chris and Des head off to a formal dinner, and Des wears a beautiful Randi Rahm dress. I found two similar dresses in this color from DressProm2013 ($168) and AliExpress ($126.80):

Randi Rahm Dress

Desiree and Chris open up about their past relationships and he writes a poem for her. I guess I’m not really the poem type of girl. I feel like it’s sort of awkward to sit there while someone reads you a poem they wrote for you. Maybe if he just gave it to her to read later it would be more romantic. It worked for Des though and she gives Chris the rose. They also got a private concert with Matt White (who?).

On to the group date! The guys visit the highest peak in Germany and learn how to yodel. Desiree wears the Canada Goose Women’s Solaris coat ($650) (ID Source: Possessionista):

Desiree on the group date

The two-on-one date card arrives and it says “Let’s heat things up.” Obviously, Michael and Ben aren’t as excited for this date.

Back at the group date, Des and the guys get to play around with sleds and she takes them to an ice hotel. Zak and Des get some one-on-one time and we find out more details about him, like he was almost a priest. I really like Zak, I think he is interesting.

Des and James make a connection and this is where I believe the guys decide to take him down. I don’t have a problem with James, I think he might be a bit insecure about how Des feels about him, but I think he genuinely likes her.

Des gives the rose to Brooks, who has pretty much been the front runner this season.

On to the two-on-one date with Michael and Ben. I was not a big fan of how this date turned out. I didn’t have a problem with Ben (until he got in the limo) but I thought it was really rude of Desiree to let Michael go after him for the entire date. I wouldn’t have kept either of them, so I think she made a dumb decision. I wouldn’t want to date a jerk like Michael; he totally crossed the line.

The best part of this date with the HOT TUG!! That was AWESOME!!! It’s two bad she didn’t have better company for this one.

Back at the hotel, the guys start their takedown of James. I’m sorry, but what guy doesn’t come on this show and think that he could become the next Bachelor? If you don’t, you are kind of naive. How many relationships actually work out from this show? I think they blew this WAY out of proportion.

During the dinner date, Des wears a black and white colorblock blazer. I found a similar Michael Kors blazer for $160.

Colorblock Blazer

Colorblock Blazer

Des ends up sending Ben home and giving Michael the rose. When Ben gets into the limo, he sort of turns into a jerk, but I would be willing to give him the benefit of the doubt since he was probably angry and pissed off. Desiree treated him poorly at the end and I didn’t think he deserved to go out like that. I thought he showed a lot of restraint for not punching Michael in the face.

For the rose ceremony, Desiree decides to cancel the cocktail party, which means that the tattle tales can’t rat out James and Mikey (these guys are such drama queens!). Des looks very elegant and wears the Graziela Detach and Go in Rock Crystal Earrings ($480 ID Source: Possessionista):

Graziela Earring

Graziela Earrings

She also has a black, one-shoulder formal gown on. It was tough to see since she wore her coat the whole time, but I found a similar option here for $139.18:

Desiree lets Mikey go this week and the rest of the guys are on their way to Barcelona. How funny was Drew’s face? It looked like he was going to explode when she called James’ name.

“Happy Hour” Goodwin Games Recap

On Episode 6 of the Goodwin Games, Chloe (Becki Newton) tries to make friends at college, but it doesn’t go very well. Instead, she runs into Ivan (Adam Rodriguez) and finally realizes that he is her old colleague from middle school. Ivan finally asks her out for a drink.

Chloe wears a yellow snakeprint blouse with her Marcie leather satchel bag (as seen in “Hamletta”).

Chloe meets with Ivan

The snakeskin blouse isn’t available anymore, but I’ve found a number of different options that are similar:

Jimmy (TJ Miller) is still trying to find a job, so he decides to play the guitar and sing about his past crimes. Henry (Scott Foley) is sending “boudoir” photos to his fiance, Kate except he accidentally sends it to his ex, Lucinda (Kat Foster). He tries to beat the text, but Lucinda sees it anyways.

This prompts them to have a conversation about why their relationship ended. Henry reveals that he had a breakup speech that he never used. Lucinda refuses to delete the photo until Henry shares the speech with her.

Jimmy asks Chloe to hand out fliers about his new gig, but he acts really weird. She runs into April (Melissa Tang) on her way to the bar and discovers that April used to have a huge crush on Ivan so she invites her to come along on their date.

Chloe wears a Herve Leger Metallic Colorblock Bandage Dress ($179) and BEBE Jacket with a fur collar ($69.99):

In an effort to redeem her friendship with April, Chloe tries to set her up with Ivan, which is awkward since Ivan likes Chloe. This makes for a very weird date, since Chloe is forcing Ivan and April together.

Henry meets up with Lucinda at the bar and he still won’t give her the breakup speech. Henry tells her that she left him for a man named God (ha!). It’s obvious that there are still unresolved issues here. The siblings keep telling Henry that Lucinda is the love of his life.

Jimmy is working behind the bar as his new job. He seems concerned that Chloe would want to set up April and Ivan. April tells Chloe that she doesn’t need to set her up with Ivan, but Chloe insists and heads off to leave them alone. Ivan follows Chloe outside and he tells her that he named a star after her (so cute!). She can’t help but kiss him and April walks outside and sees them together.

It’s time for Jimmy’s performance, which isn’t very discreet. He sings about his illicit affair with April (I definitely didn’t see that coming!) and shares way too much information with the entire town. April finally stops the song before he details their sex positions.

Henry chases Lucinda and they finally get closure with a real breakup. He gives her the breakup speech, which is actually a pretty good speech (minus the Closing Time part). She tells him that if had said that speech to her in the moment, she never would have let him go. If this show were going to continue longer than seven episodes, I bet these two would end up together.

April lets Chloe off the hook and Chloe gets to make out with Ivan. The siblings end the night together but neither of them believe that Henry is over Lucinda. April stops by to say goodnight, but ends up sneaking into the house to spend the night with Jimmy. She tells Chloe it is the last time (I don’t buy that for a second!).

What did you think of this episode? Chloe and Ivan are so cute together. Since we’ve never seen Kate, I am leaning towards Henry and Lucinda together. The next episode is the series finale, I wonder if they will ever bring this show back?

True Blood “The Sun” Recap

I love that True Blood always leaves us hanging at the end of each episode. That is why you can never stop watching it.

The plot lines for this season are already starting to develop. At the beginning of this episode, we see what looks like Warlow breaking through from some other dimension while Sookie (Anna Paquin) is sleeping.

Jason

We find out that Jason (Ryan Kwanten) wasn’t with Warlow at all, but with his fairy grandfather. The fairy grandfather seems to have a lot more information about Warlow and hopefully will help prepare Jason to kill him.

Jason takes his fairy grandfather home to show him the portal where Warlow first appeared from. The fairy grandfather jumps through the portal for further investigation and discovers that Warlow has already broken through.

Jason introduces Sookie to their fairy grandfather. Sookie makes them dinner and he lets them know that Warlow is here. He tells Sookie that their family is from a royal bloodline, which means that Sookie is a fairy princess. Warlow massacred the fairy grandfather’s village and killed off his entire family. Claudine blasted him to a dark realm where he had been for a hundred years, but now he is free and out to get the family.

Vampires (Pam, Tara, Eric & Nora)

We last left Fangtasia with the SWAT team shooting Tara (Rutina Wesley) with some sort of silver bullet that emits UV light. Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) saves the day and pulls it out of her. This prompts Eric to wonder how they got this sort of technology.

Tara is still wearing her two tone leather jacket (Q40 Viper Jacket, $616). The jacket is sold out, but there is one available on eBay.

Nora (Lucy Griffiths) is still trying to decipher the text about Lillith to figure out what Bill is. There is still a lot of distrust from Pam and she is very angry with Eric.

In the meantime, Eric decides to pay the governor a visit to learn more about his master plan.

The governor’s daughter Willa (Amelia Rose Blaire) wears the Penrose Dress from Anthropologie. Unfortunately, this is also sold out, but I found a similar tea dress at Nordstrom for $92.

Eric has taken on the persona of a reporter to get in to meet with the governor. Eric tries to glamour the governor, but we find out that he has created special contact lenses that are impervious to glamouring.

The governor tries to take Eric to “camp” but he flies off before they can get him. He pays Willa a visit in her bedroom right after she has taken her special contact lenses out.

At the end of the episode we see Tara wearing a Rag & Bone jacket ($346.50), there is also a similar version at Nordstrom ($575):

Jessica & Bill

Bill (Stephen Moyer) is having some crazy visions and still isn’t sure what his new powers mean. He communes with Lillith (Jessica Clark) and she tells him that events have been set in motion. She tells him that a tyrant is rising and that Bill must complete her work. She explains that God created her and then Adam and Eve, that she is not a god and neither is Bill. She tells Bill that he has to save all of the vampires and that he will know what to do.

Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) wears a Honeydew Lace Sleep Tee ($45). It is sold out in blue, but you can still get it in grey, black or pink.

Jessica decides to get Bill someone to eat in hopes of snapping him out of his comatose state. He ends up killing the woman from Human Edibles and leaves Jessica to clean up the mess.

Bill finally comes out of the coma and sees a news report of a vampire being dragged by a truck. They realize that he had a vision of this before it happened. Bill then gets a vision of all of the vampires being burned together in a white room.

Sookie

Arlene (Carrie Preston) wakes up Sookie to remind her that she still is a waitress and has a shift at Merlotte’s.

On her way to work she runs across someone who needs help and she tries to ignore it, but can’t. It turns out that the victim is also a half-fairy like Sookie.

Sookie wears the Taylor Short Boots by FRYE in cognac ($348). They are still available in dark brown, black and smoke.

She also wears a Purple Denim Jacket by J Brand which is sold out. I found a similar colored Denim & Co. jacket at QVC for $44.50:

As she takes care of her guest, she wears a floral lace zip up hoodie from Aeropostale, which is sold out, but there are still a few left on eBay.

Sookie walks him to the fairy haven so he can recover. He tries to ask her out, but it doesn’t go very well and they part ways.

Sookie learns that she has the power to protect herself with one giant fairy blast. Once she uses it she won’t be a fairy anymore, but she can at least take out her attacker.

Arlene & Terry

Patrick’s wife comes to visit Terry (Todd Lowe), to try to find out what happened to Patrick. Arlene covers this up and tells her that Patrick ran off with another woman.

Sam

Sam (Sam Trammell) is visited by Nicole from the US Vampire Unity Society and she wants him to lead the charge and comes out as a shifter and reveal all of the other supernatural beings.

Sam is hiding Emma (Chloe Noelle) with Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis) back at his house. The wolfpack arrives to take Emma back with them to their pack. Alcide (Joe Magniello) tells Sam that Emma is coming with them and doesn’t give him a choice. Things get ugly and the wolfpack turns on Sam and Lafayette, taking Emma with them.

Andy

Andy (Chris Bauer) is still dealing with the aftermath of his fairy babies, who are growing at a rapid rate.

What did you think about Episode 2? I’m not sure I like the path that Alcide is going down, he is getting really dark. What will Eric do to the governor’s daughter? Will Bill be able to save his friends? Does Sookie have a new love interest?

Falling Skies “At All Costs” Recap

When we last checked in on Tom (Noah Wyle) and the 2nd Mass, they were being attacked in Charleston by the Espheni. Tom decides that there is no time like the present to put his new prisoner, Lt. Fisher (Luvia Peterson) to good use. He wants her to see how the Volm have been helping them to fight back against the Espheni so she can report back to her leaders.

Hal (Drew Roy) decides that he wants to tell his dad about what’s been happening to him. Maggie (Sarah Carter) still disagrees with his decision and tries to talk him out of it.

Noah-Wyle-Sarah-Carter-and-Drew-Roy-in-FALLING-SKIES-Episode-3.04-At-All-Costs

Anne (Moon Bloodgood) is looking for answers about baby Lexi, especially after she says “I love you too mama.”

Tom is able to talk to President Hathaway (Stephen Collins) using a shortwave radio. They agree to meet to discuss joining forces.

Ben (Connor Jessup) is wrestling with becoming human again. Lourdes (Seychelle Gabriel) is able to remove his spikes, but he would go back to his original form with his asthma inhaler and everything. He currently has super powers and is able to help in the fight. Without them, he may not be able to help as much.

To meet with President Hathaway, Tom and Weaver need to commandeer the aircraft that Pope (Colin Cunningham) has been hoarding for his eventual escape. Pope’s condition – that he gets to tag along.

pope

Anne goes to meet with Dr. Kadar (Robert Sean Leonard) to see if he can devise a DNA test. She asks under the guise of the harnessed children, but she really wants to test Alexis.

The plane lands at President Hathaway’s base camp and his men don’t take too kindly to Cochise and escort him to a holding area.

Falling Skies At All Costs

The Presidents have the meeting of the minds and discuss options about trusting the Volm. President Hathaway isn’t 100 percent convinced though. He wants to know why the Volm are fighting against the Eshpeni. We learn that they are fighting the Espheni for a special flower from their home planet. The Espheni destroyed the Volm’s home planet and Cochise doesn’t even remember it other than a picture in a file. We also learn that Cochise had a brother who died in battle with the Espheni. This was very convincing and President Hathaway agrees to move forward.

Falling-Skies-S3E4-2

Things are progressing quickly with Hal. Whatever is inside of him starts to take over and push the real Hal out. When we leave him, it seems like this thing has fully taken him over. Hal talks to Maggie and starts acting normal again to throw her off the scent. He tells her that he doesn’t want to tell his father anything and she is perfectly willing to let it go.

seriable-00877

Tom plans to stay with President Hathaway for a while to argue his case with the President’s men. He is able to talk to Weaver and Anne about staying longer. This is unfortunate, because now nobody is expecting him to be back for a while.

Dr. Kadar shares his results with Anne and we find out that Alexis has alien DNA, confirming what Anne has suspected all along. Dr. Kadar figures out that the DNA is from Alexis and wants to tell someone. Anne goes into full mommy mode and knocks out Dr. Kadar. She then goes back to get Alexis, drugging Lourdes in the process. She leaves Charleston with Alexis and is confronted by a Skitter with a harnessed child. She starts to freak out and then Hal appears and tells her everything is going to be fine (Creepy! I think not!)

The President’s men identify an incoming attack and everyone has to leave the base. Cochise ends up going with President Hathaway’s team and Tom and the others go in their own plane. General Bressler (Matt Frewer) does some creative flying to try to escape the attack but they end up crashing in the middle of the woods. We are left with a “To Be Continued” message on the screen.

What do you think will happen to Tom, Pope, Bressler and Cochise? Can President Hathaway be trusted?

Graceland “Heat Run” Recap

We last left off with Briggs (Daniel Sunjata) holding a gun to Mike’s (Aaron Tveit) head. This situation is quickly resolved and the boys are confronted by Bello(Gbenga Akinnagbe)  and his men. Briggs was just playing along with Bello  and pretending like he thought Mike sold them out to place suspicion on Eddie (Sheaun McKinney). Their plan works and Bello blames Eddie for their misfortune by sealing his eye with lead (gross!). Mike takes this all in stride and ends up impressing Briggs with his cool head and ability to go with the flow.

Briggs confronting Mike

Briggs confronting Mike

Back at Graceland, Briggs and Lauren (Scottie Thompson) catch up and we find out that her partner, Donnie, got transferred to Miami. Lauren is still dead set on taking down the Russians and tries to get Briggs to help her. Lauren wears an all black look complete with a leather sleeved jacket. I found a similar one at Forever 21 for $22.80:

Charlie (Vanessa Ferlito) goes to visit a contact of hers, a former meth addict/dealer, who has information on a big score coming their way. This was a side storyline – the contact almost ruins her deal and she ends up having to cut ties with him. Charlie gives him the final payout and tries to get him into a house, but he doesn’t take it and most likely blows the money on drugs.

Charlie & Whistler

Charlie & Whistler

The team assembles early in the morning to take down a shipment of Lamborghinis that the Russians are expecting. Lauren got played and Briggs aborts the mission. She doesn’t listen and blows her cover when she pulls over the decoy trucker.

After the mission, the group goes to a local bar to decompress and teach Mike about the rules of undercover dating. I didn’t even notice this on the first watch but when Mike goes back to the table, he presses his hand into Briggs’ credit card and takes a picture of the numbers imprinted into his hand. This was so fast I almost missed it.

Lauren doesn’t listen to Briggs and risks her life going back to the Russians to get more information. She comes back to Graceland with a black eye which seemed suspicious to me since we never saw it happen. She lies to Briggs and tells him that she saw the low-jacked cars in a warehouse.

Briggs assembles the team again and they go to take down the warehouse. Lauren has on a black leather moto jacket. Victoria’s Secret has a cute one for $298:

There were a lot more men at the warehouse than Lauren said and when Briggs confronts the Russian boss he realizes that he never hit Lauren. At first he talks to Paige (Serinda Swan) and they think that the Russians might be tracking her and they check her car for a tracking device. Paige wears a tiger tank top. I found a similar top at Go Jane in salmon and black ($19.50):

I found a similar green and white striped bikini from Shoshanna for $23.37:

Back at the bar, everyone is celebrating and Mike ends up meeting Abby (Jenn Proske), a girl that he actually has something in common with. He ends up hanging out with her all night and walking on the beach (so cute!).

Briggs puts it together that Lauren never went to the warehouse. Briggs tells her she is done and reported her to the DEA because she put the team in danger. Lauren will get reassigned out of Graceland.

At the end of the episode, Mike is able to access Briggs’ credit card information. He discovers that Briggs bought a GPS tracker and planted it on Lauren’s car. Briggs is impressed that Mike figures it out and lets him know that Lauren got out of control, which is why he had to get her out of the house.

This episode was important because it let us know not to mess with Briggs, which could be foreshadowing upcoming storylines. What did you think about Heat Run?
