The Book Was Better Book Club: Firefly Lane

Having just come off of our last book pick, A Simple Favor, I’m ready to switch gears back to a TV series. Firefly Lane on Netflix has already received a ton of hype so I thought it was the perfect selection for our next pick. The series stars Katherine Heigl and Sarah Chalke. From the synopsis, it sounds like this is a story of two lifelong friends over a period of 30 years – perfect for our book club!

The reading/watching schedule is below and you can move as quickly as you want to through it – just remember not to spoil past the schedule for anyone in the Facebook group.

I found the book on Amazon for $9.99 and you can get a basic Netflix plan for $8.99/month to watch the series. Here is a little preview for the Netflix series – it looks SO good!

The Book Was Better Book Club: A Simple Favor

Last year I started a new book club that would specifically focus on books that have been turned into movies or TV shows. We had a great first run with Little Fires Everywhere. I had every intention of keeping this going, but as you may have noticed in my previous post, I’m having a baby! I wasn’t expecting to be so sick, but it sort of took me out of commission for a while and I had to pause the book club. I am still committed to keeping this going and would LOVE to get this next round in before the baby comes and hopefully start the next round after she’s born as I’m sure I will need things to read and watch as I’m up for all those late-night feedings.

I will most likely rotate between a TV series and a movie and I had previously announced that A Simple Favor would be our first book/movie selection. If you haven’t picked up the book yet, you can find A Simple Favor here for $2.04! In addition, you can watch the movie on Hulu and Amazon Prime. I also found the DVD for $3.74 if you don’t have a streaming service.
