Friday Favorites: Weekly Roundup

I didn’t really have a particular theme for this week’s Friday favorites, so I figured I would just share a roundup of the cool things I’ve seen this week.

1. Kate Spade Wool Felt Cloche ($148)

Ever since I saw Blair wearing a cloche hat in Gossip Girl, I’ve wanted one. I was randomly searching and came across this gorgeous hat.

2. Limited Lace Clutch ($41.96)

3. LOFT Leopard Haircalf Modern Pumps ($98)

I’ve been searching for the cutest leopard pump and this one totally fits the bill.

4. Crystal Teardrop Tassel Necklace ($20)

5. Yankee Candles – Merlot, Chardonnay, Shiraz and White Zinfandel

I stumbled across these limited edition Yankee Candles in Merlot, Chardonnay, Shiraz and White Zinfandel and have to have them. I was also thinking they would make awesome Christmas gifts.

Friday Favorites: Talk Like a Pirate

Shiver me timbers!! Today is International Talk Like a Pirate Day, one of my favorite days of the year! I figured I should share my favorite pirate themed items to commemorate the day. Don’t forget to change your Facebook language to Pirate, it cracks me up every time!

1. Fold a Pirate Scarf

I found this tutorial on Pinterest on how to tie a Hermes scarf pirate style! Now I need a Hermes scarf to be the most fashionable pirate next year!

2. Krispy Kreme

Krispy Kreme is giving away a free tonight today to anyone who talks like a pirate. If you are dressed up, you could get a free dozen doughnuts. They also have some fun printables on their website.

3. Pirate Skull Tank ($18)

I found this on Etsy and thought it was so cute!

4. Salty Pirate Sign ($19.99)

This sign is totally something I would have!

5. Tiffany Anchor Charm Necklace ($250)

Friday Favorites: Cute Desk Accessories

When I was in school, I loved getting new binders and folders and color coding all of my classes. As an adult, you don’t really get a first day back to school, so I thought it would be fun to share some cute fun desk accessories that would help give a fresh start to any office. Here are my top five favorites (warning…this post might be all Kate Spade focused, because she just makes really cute stuff!):

1. Kate Spade Talk is Chic Notebook ($18)

For my job, I have to track billable hours. Some people do it differently, but I like to write it down in a notebook and then enter it into the system at the end of the day. What PR gal doesn’t need a fabulous notebook?

2. Kate Spade Let’s Do Lunch Business Card Holder ($20)

I had a faux leather business card holder, but it tends to get gunked up in my purse, so I needed a new one and this is just darling.

3. Kate Spade Pen Set ($19)

Each pen has a fun saying. Green: from the desk of, Purple: so well composed, Red: to whom it may concern, Pink: yours sincerely, Blue: what’s the word.

4. Kate Spade Acrylic Pencil Cup ($24)

Now that you have pens, you are going to need a fun pen holder. This one says “Stroke of Genius.”

5. Kate Spade Picture Frame ($29)

I can’t have a desk without have a picture of John on it and I love pink, so this works for me.

Friday Favorites: Michigan Football

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Michigan football is back on Saturday! I can’t wait for some tailgating and football watching fun this season!

For my Friday Favorites this week, I wanted to highlight some of the fun Michigan items that have been on my list, but that I haven’t pulled the trigger on yet.

1. toms campus classics ($48)

Toms has come out with a line of shoes specifically for your favorite college team. These would be perfect to wear to a tailgate.

2. Charming Charlies University of Michigan Victory Hour Watch ($22)

This is so girlie and I love it along with the price! They have a number of other schools as well.

3. Dark Blue and Maize Flats ($58)

These would be great to wear to work on a spirit day or for one of the away game parties we will most likely attend this season.

4. Gabriella Rocha Game Day Tank Maxi ($45.99)

I love, love, love this game day maxi dress! They have different styles and colors depending on what school you root for.

5. Blue & Yellow Jersey Infinity Scarf ($18)

I thought this would be fun for a non-traditional tailgate outfit.

Friday Favorites: All About Druzy

I am currently obsessed with all things druzy! The jewelry I have seen lately is just beautiful and I wanted to share some of it with you for my Friday Favorites. So what is a druzy stone you ask? A druzy is a colorful mineral that is covered by fine crystals. Druzy stones are inexpensive which is why you see them used in jewelry so much. They are sparkly and easy to work with.

Friday Favorites: Fun Finds

For today’s Friday Favorites post, I wanted to share some fun things I recently stumbled upon (the links are in the titles if you click on them it should take you straight to the item):

1. Bath & Body Works SmartSoap Dispenser

This is so new that I can’t even link to it online. Bath & Body Works has developed these awesome no touch soap dispensers and is testing them out in select locations. I recently stumbled upon them when I went to get more handsoap. I bought two of them, one for the kitchen and one for the bathroom. We are in LOVE with them! You just wave your hand underneath the dispenser and out comes the soap. They are currently selling the refills three for $18, so now is the time to try them out.

2. Pastel Multi Chevron Stackable Bracelets ($19.99)

I first saw similar bracelets on another blog, but they were sold out. I liked them so much I needed to hunt them down and get my own pair.

3. Snakeskin Print Clutch ($26.97)

I love this green clutch from The Limited. What a fun clutch to perk up an outfit.

4. Jonathan Adler Champagne Pop Candle ($42)

I love champagne and this candle is so decadent. This would be a great gift. What better than to have the sweet aroma of champagne permeating your house?

5. VS Collection Peep Toe Pump ($49.50)

I love these pink leopard peep toe pumps!

Five on Friday: Luggage Edition

It’s time for another edition of Five on Friday with A Liz Adventures, The Good Life Blog, Hello Happiness and Carolina Charm.

The hubby and I have been traveling a lot lately and we need new luggage! We sort of have a mismatched rag tag gang of bags that we use for our trips. This last trip my bag was much bigger than it needed to be, but that was the only nice one we had. So I decided that for today’s Five on Friday I would find some new luggage that I could get for my next trip.

1. Nine West Luggage Fast Track 3 Piece Hardside Set ($359.99)

I’ve never had hardside luggage before, so I would love to hear what the pros and cons are. I loved that these were hot pink on one side and black on the back.

2. Jessica Simpson Snake Twister Hardside Collection ($509.97)

I love this collection. So girlie and definitely noticeable on the luggage carousel. There are three pieces, a 20″, 24″ and 28″.

3. Nicole Miller NY Animal Instinct Luggage Collection in Burgundy ($349.96)

This might be my favorite collection and the prices are very reasonable. There are four pieces, a 16 inch field bag and 20, 24 and 28 inch expandable spinners.

4. GUESS? Logo Affair Spinner Luggage ($1,920)

I liked the look of this luggage and there are six different pieces available, a 19 inch tote bag, shopper tote, 20 inch rolling duffel, 21 inch carry on spinner, 25 inch spinner and a 29 inch spinner.

5. Michael Kors Signature Carry On ($798)

I had to add one splurge piece, which is this Michael Kors Signature Carry On. You could even get the matching bag!

Five on Friday: Pewabic Garden Party Edition

It’s time for another edition of Five on Friday with A Liz Adventures, The Good Life Blog, Hello Happiness and Carolina Charm.

Every year, I attend Pewabic Pottery’s annual For the House & Garden Show, or as we like to call it, The Garden Party. Back in 2004, I joined the Pottery as the Special Events and Membership Coordinator. This was my first job out of college and I learned so much from working there. I also fell in love with the Pottery and its mission. Check out my previous post for additional background.

Pewabic is on the register of National Historic Landmarks and is a Detroit treasure. I love coming back to this annual event every year to reconnect with old friends and check out all of the awesome new pieces. It also reminds me of how far I have come and makes me grateful for all of the opportunities I’ve had so far in my career.

At the Garden Party, Pewabic introduces its new pieces, and don’t worry those who don’t live in Michigan, you can buy online or via phone. Here are some of the awesome new pieces presented at this year’s party:

1. Detroit Tigers Olde English D Tile ($50)

This tile was presented last year and this year they have a two-tone option. If you’ve ever visited Comerica Park, you might have noticed the 325 Pewabic tiles that decorate the facility.

2.Detroit Map Tile

This is so new, they don’t even have it online yet, but there are all sorts of amazing options. I loved this framed version.

3. Detroit Ornament ($32)

This Detroit ornament is another brand new option. It will look great on our tree next Christmas!

4. Cog Tile

The tile picture is coming soon, but in the meantime, here is a preview. Every year Pewabic makes a pin to hand out at the Garden Party based on their new tile.

5. Botanicals Garment Rack ($390)

I cannot wait to get a house so I can set this up in the mudroom!

4. New Headshots/Photography

Let’s face it, my headshot for this blog is a bit dated. I would love to get some new fun blogging headshots and photos to use.

5. Design Work

I would love to get some new headers for some of my favorite segments like Wine of the Week or some of the new series coming up.
