Episode 4 begins with Joss (Jes Macallan) and Harry (Brett Tucker) bantering in the kitchen, while Savi (Alyssa Milano) is at a doctor’s appointment confirming her pregnancy. The characters keep falling deeper into their own problems.
Savi
Savi tells Karen (Yunjin Kim) and April (Rachelle Aytes) that she is pregnant and they try to make her feel better by telling her that the baby is probably Harry’s (fat chance!). She is convinced that she has to tell Harry the truth, which I think is silly. I love how she thinks that everything will be okay if she just tells the truth…WRONG – he will probably kick your cheating butt to the curb!
She wears a sold-out Zac Posen dress in this scene. I found a similar asymmetrical cut dress by Ivy & Blu for $91.90:
Savi sets up an appointment to test the paternity of her baby. The appointment runs long and Savi needs to get Dominic (Jason George) to fill in for her in court. This makes up for her getting him kicked off the case in the previous episode.
She can test the paternity of the baby, but it will take a few weeks to get the results back. Now she just needs to get a sample from Harry.
Joss
Joss is building her friendship with Alex (Shannyn Sossamon) and Sally by hiking, although Joss isn’t much of a hiker. She wears the LuluLemon Wunder Under Crop pants in the Mirage Indigo print. You can still find some on eBay for around $100.
Sally confides in Joss that she has been a good friend to Alex and that they have been fighting less since they have been looking for a house. There is some foreshadowing here that Joss might become a problem in their relationship.
Joss talks to Savi about Alex’s relationship and she decides that Alex and Sally should break up because Alex is miserable. This just seems ridiculous to me. This is definitely a case of someone sticking their nose in where it doesn’t belong.
Alex invites Joss to a party because Sally had to cancel. Alex is getting hit on at the party and Joss pretends to be her girlfriend and kisses her (WTF was she thinking? So inappropriate and out of left field). Alex is upset by this and leaves.
Joss wears an All Saints Beige Restrain Skirt, which is sold out. I found two alternative options at Ann Taylor ($275) and Saks Fifth Avenue ($132):
She also wears the Brandy Melville Mirella tank ($24.70) which is sold out, but there is a similar one here for $36 (ID Source: WornOnTV). Alex wears a sold out Betsey Johnson maxi dress, I found another maxi dress from Asos for $81.46 that is just as cute and would work for an evening event.
Alex ends up showing up at Joss’ door and tells her that she broke up with Sally. She temporarily moves in with Joss at Harry and Savi’s guest house.
April
April gets a visit from an attorney representing Miranda Nickelby (Kate Beahan) informing her that Miranda plans to sue if she refuses to pay child support. April meets with Savi to discuss her options. Savi is the voice of reason and tells her not to give Miranda a dime until she has proof. Savi gives April good advice and tells her to handle it in court. April doesn’t want her daughter to find out and is hesitant about going to court.
She wears the Hayley Oversized Top from Gypsy 05 that is sold out, but you can get the same print in a button-up version ($187) or in a similar print ($143):
April meets Miranda at her store to try to get more information about her and Paul’s relationship. She finds out that Miranda and Paul had been seeing each other for over a year and that Paul had planned to leave April. During the conversation Scotty hurts himself and they have to take him to the hospital. April pays the medical bills and I believe this is when she changes her mind and starts to feel sorry for Miranda’s situation.
At the end of the episode we see Miranda paying off the attorney who was really an actor. There is something fishy going on here.
Karen
Karen finishes up a yoga class and finds Sam’s (Erik Stocklin) wallet in her car. Just when she thought she was done with him, he left something behind. Now this is typically a chick move, the ole’ “Oh, I left something at your place, can I come and pick it up?” Funny how Sam is not too far away from desperate.
The smart thing to do in this situation would be to mail the wallet back to Sam, but in four episodes, I’ve learned that Karen is not that bright when it comes to this kid. She instead takes the wallet to his apartment and tries to squeeze it in his mailbox. She is surprised to run into him and she finds out that he decided to drop out of school.
Sam invites Karen up to the apartment so he can explain that he is dropping out of school to pursue photography. He invites her to dinner (WARNING: Karen, what are you thinking?). Sam tries to kiss Karen and she rushes off. I can’t believe she didn’t see this coming, Sam is totally obsessed with her.
I think Joss and Karen are playing with fire, what did you think about Episode 4? Savi is in a big mess, it will be interesting to see how she handles it.
