Five on Friday: March Madness Edition

It’s time for another edition of Five on Friday with A Liz AdventuresThe Good Life BlogHello Happiness and Carolina Charm.

5 on Friday Logo - Final

It’s that time of year again…where everyone goes crazy over college basketball, myself included! I personally root for the University of Michigan: Go Blue! I would love to hear what teams you are rooting for in the tournament. This is also the perfect excuse to shop for your favorite Michigan or college gear. Every time your team advances is another opportunity to show your school spirit. Here are a few of my favorite Michigan items (most of them you can customize to your school):

1. Toms Campus Classics ($48)

Toms has come out with a line of shoes specifically for your favorite college team. These would be perfect to wear to a basketball game or to watch the tourney at a bar with friends.

Screen Shot 2014-03-20 at 7.46.37 PM

2. Slater Zorn Stadium Style Collection

Slater Zorn offers a collection where you can pick your team’s colors and get tons of cute clothes and accessories to match. I am partial to this Suite Blouse ($175) because it would be a great transition from work to the bar.

Screen Shot 2014-03-20 at 8.03.16 PM3. Yankee Candles Collegiate Collection ($27.99)

Yankee Candles has a cool set of collegiate candles (unfortunately, no Wolverines candles yet) so I have to post a Spartan candle as an example. But you can choose your school and each has it’s own unique scent.

Screen Shot 2014-03-20 at 8.14.25 PM4. iPhone Case-Mate Cover ($40)

Nordstrom has a line of collegiate cell phone cases so you can pick one for your favorite team.

Screen Shot 2014-03-20 at 8.24.17 PM5. University of Michigan Heels

March Madness is the perfect time to wear collegiate inspired shoes since you aren’t tailgating in the mud. Ms. Mary Mac creates custom shoes for whatever university you hail from. She has two different styles that you could customize for your school:

Cougar Town “Hard on Me” Recap

On this episode of Cougar Town, Jules (Courtney Cox) worries that Ellie (Christa Miller) might be getting sick…and that means bad news for the gang. Apparently, sick Ellie can lead to disastrous consequences.

Title Image

Ellie wears the Helmut Lang Obstructed Borders Sweater ($346.27). This long-sleeve top from Heather ($49.50) is a great look for less:

Ellie Helmut Lang

Chick (Ken Jenkins) is depressed after his Alzheimer’s diagnosis, so Jules tries to figure out how she can cheer him up. At the same time, Andy (Ian Gomez) gets caught sleeping on the job as mayor. Andy decides to organize a 5K to distract the public from his scandal and Jules can get Chick involved because he used to be a track coach. Jules wears the sold-out Splendid Soho Stripe Henley in coral. You can get the same henley in black at 6 p.m. for $39.99:

Jules Henley

I also have to pause to celebrate the introduction of the “cough tail” which is a mixture of cough syrup and wine for Ellie (amazing!).

Grayson (Josh Hopkins) decides that he misses acting and Bobby (Brian Van Holt) convinces him to never give up on a dream by finding him a great opportunity for a handsome man over 40. He goes on the audition and ends up winning the part!

Jules gets Chick pumped up to train the group to participate in the 5K. What she didn’t realize was what a hard-ass trainer he would be. Laurie (Busy Phillips) makes a deal with the devil…a.k.a. Ellie to get her sick so she doesn’t have to train for the 5K.

chick training

One by one, the group falls – Travis (Dan Bryd), Tom (Bob Clendenin) and Bobby. Andy discovers what they are doing and they get him sick too! Jules ends up snapping at Chick because of his tyrant behavior. She wants to quit, but Grayson convinces her to set a good example and not give up.

Grayson discovers that his commercial is really for a low-testosterone gel for men. Not exactly what he was hoping for. Bobby ends up convincing him to stick with his dreams and that they cast him to be the young stud that all the old guys wish they could be. He makes a good point:

bobby quote

Jules finds Chick and they make up. She convinces him not to give up on life and decides to run the 5K after all. Jules wears the sold-out Madewell Mini-Check Market Popover. The Everyday Gingham Shirt from Forever 21 ($15.80) is a good match:

Jules plaid

Jules crosses the finish line with a little help from her friends and Grayson’s commercial ends up being pretty hilarious.

After this ridiculous Michigan winter, I could not be anymore ready for Spring! Today is the first day of Spring and I am rolling out the red carpet for it by sharing my favorite Spring things with you.

Fioni Krime

Every year Payless comes out with a shoe that I have to have. Last year, my Mom went on the hunt and secured them for me after hitting a bunch of stores. I am just as in love with the newest release this year. They are sold out in my size online, so let the hunt begin! I have been watching for a 10 on eBay and am going to check out some of the stores this weekend for my size.

Every year for as long as I can remember, I’ve had an Easter dress. This year will be no different. Things to keep in mind – your Easter dress should be colorful and floral. I’ve had my eye on this sheath dress.

The Bachelor – Week 5 Recap

Good Morning Vietnam!!!!

Juan Pablo and the 11 remaining ladies jet off to Vietnam as we begin Week 5 of this “amazing journey.”

Renee gets the first one-on-one this week with a date card that reads “Are we the right fit?”

Renee and JP rent bicycles in Hoi An and spend some time shopping. Juan Pablo gets her fitted for a traditional Vietnamese dress and they have a great night together. I think Renee is my favorite from the season, she is so sweet and down-to-earth. It becomes more obvious every week that she could do so much better than Juan Pablo. JP still refuses to kiss her and she seems okay with it. Despite the fact that he obviously isn’t that into her, Renee still gets the rose.

1897934_10151891875363053_2120574919_n

Back at the hotel, the group date card arrives for Kat, Clare, Cassandra, Danielle, Alli, Andi, Sharleen, Chelsie and Kelly. It reads “Can you go with the flow?”

They girls meet Juan Pablo for a boat ride down the river in a Vietnamese boat. The boats only fit two people each and since Clare didn’t have a teammate she got to ride with JP. So after he doesn’t kiss Renee last night (because of Camila) he has no problem making out with Clare on the group date.

Kelly and the rest of the ladies aren’t happy that JP is basically having another one-on-one date with Clare right in front of them. She wore the Stella & Dot On the Mark Necklace ($59):

Kelly necklace

They stopped for lunch at Tra Que Village and to do some work on the farm…not really my idea of a vacation. Sharleen wore the Stella & Dot Maya Pendant ($39):

Sharleen necklace

At the cocktail party jealousy is flying as JP asks Clare for the first alone time of the evening. Andi is really put off by this, along with the rest of the girls. Andi wore a pink maxi dress and the Pave Duo Necklace ($32) from BaubleBar. This Go Jane Coral Maxi Dress ($28) is similar:

pink dress

Clare is on a high with Juan Pablo, he has paid her special attention and even invited her back to his private suite for a swim. She wore a bright blue maxi dress with her trademark Believe necklace (see Week 2). This Maxi Tank Dress ($69.99) from The Limited is similar:

Blue maxi

Sharleen’s up next and she wants JP to see her as a panda in a room full of brown bears. Unfortunately, I think that might be a little too deep for him. She is also great at rocking the backless dress, this black and white striped one is fabulous. This Stripe Maxi Dress ($141) by Eight Sixty is a great match:

black maxi dress

Kelly wore an Alexis Bittar Spear Necklace ($155) and deep purple maxi dress. This Royal Grapevine Dress ($48) is similar:

purple dress

Much to the dismay of the other women, Clare gets the group date rose, but that doesn’t stop her from continuing her group date high. She sneaks out of the hotel to meet up with Juan Pablo. They end up having a very steamy swim in the ocean. There was a lot of controversy around this and I don’t think they had sex in the water. You can read Clare’s People interview on the topic here.

Previous contestants and even Reality Steve doesn’t think that they did it in the ocean. As I’m writing this we are at the end of the season so I think it doesn’t really matter anymore – she obviously slept with him at some point, so does it matter if it was in the ocean or in the fantasy suite. I think Clare was on a high on this date, this was probably the peak of her journey on the show and she went for it…I can’t blame her for that. Everything he did on that date led her to think that her attention was warranted. In this situation, JP is the textbook definition of leading someone on.

Nikki gets the final date card that reads “Let’s have a hell of a good time.” Juan Pablo gives Nikki her surprise, which is rappelling down into a cave called “Hell.” She is terrified, but totally impressed me with her courage. I would not have done that date, but she didn’t go back and forth about it. This is the best I’ve seen Juan Pablo so far, he was very supportive of Nikki and genuinely helped her overcome her fear.

Until he tells her that he didn’t sleep well last night – which we all know is because he stayed up late with Clare. They end up having a great conversation and JP gives her the rose.

At the cocktail party, JP sets the tone by telling the women that he plans to let three people go. Andi is insecure about where she fits in, so JP distracts her with besitos (kisses). She wore the sold-out Naven Heartthrob Dress. This Amanda Uprichard Madison Tulip-Skirt Dress ($77.35) is similar:

Naven dress

Renee finally gets her kiss from Juan Pablo and their relationships finally seems to be moving forward. At this point I wasn’t sure if they had waited too long and she would get stuck in the friend zone. She wore a soldout Gianni Bini Becca Strapless Colorblock Dress. I found this BCBGMAXAZRIA Kira One Shoulder Colorblock Dress ($186.99) this provides a similar style:

gianni bini

Then things totally blew up when Juan Pablo decided to take back his ocean rendezvous with Clare and tell her that he made a mistake. I really don’t understand what the point of this was. There was no problem and he had to make a problem. In my opinion this was the beginning of the decline of their relationship. She wore the sold-out Nightcap Belize Victorian Lace Dress in Hot Orange. This Ellen Tracy Women’s Cap Sleeve Belted Lace Dress ($42.33) was the closest I could find to match this look:

orange dress

At the end of the day Juan Pablo sends Danielle, Kelly and Alli home. Juan Pablo seemed really upset about it at this ceremony. He was actually more upset than the girls.

Next week the ladies and JP are off to New Zealand!

For this week’s deleted scenes we have Sharleen and Juan Pablo talking about their must-have qualities in a significant other:

The second clip is Juan Pablo and Kat talking about The Bachelor experience:

For the last video we get to hear what Clare really thinks of Nikki:

What did you think of this episode and what was your take on the Clare/Juan Pablo ocean rendezvous?

I enjoy reading Bachelor spoilers and if you are interested in finding out what happens in advance you can check out Reality Steve for more information. He also has great behind the scenes details on which cast-offs are dating and who is going take the final rose this season.

White Collar “Diamond Exchange” Recap

As I write this I just found out that next season will be the last for White Collar. The network is giving us a six-episode season six to wrap things up. While I am bummed that the show is ending, I am glad that they are giving us a chance to wrap things up. It definitely makes you appreciate the season finale.

The season finale picks up with Peter (Tim DeKay) and Neal (Matt Bomer) trying to figure out what Rebecca/Rachel’s (Bridget Regan) next move is. We learn soon enough that she poisoned Mozzie (Willie Garson) as leverage so Neal would find the diamond in exchange for an antidote.

While Peter, Neal and Mozzie hunt down the diamond, Diana (Marsha Thomason) and Jones (Sharif Atkins) are left to hunt down the poison. As they arrive at Fort Totten, a mason built fort, Mozzie makes a discovery only to succumb to the effects of the poison, thus leaving Peter and Neal to find the diamond.

diamond exchange

Before they can find Rebecca, she finds them first when they are alone with no backup. She takes the diamond and locks Neal and Peter up so she can get away. Unfortunately, she still doesn’t give them the antidote for Mozzie, she says she will only provide it when she is safely out of the city.

Not to worry as Diana and Jones come to the rescue with a possible antidote. Elizabeth (Tiffani Thiessen) is at the hospital with Mozzie and insists that the doctors give him the antidote even though the tests haven’t been confirmed. The antidote works, and Mozzie will be fine! She wears a military green blouse while yelling at the doctor. This Glossy V-Neck Blouse from The Limited ($49.95) is similar:

military blouse

Meanwhile, Neal and Peter break free and Neal tries to stop Rebecca with a reason to stay before she helicopters off the island.

Just when we think Rebecca has won, Neal reveals that she doesn’t actually have the diamond, but a piece of brick that Neal swapped in with a little slight of hand. Peter has the real diamond, leaving Rebecca with nothing. Neal convinces her that it’s finally over and that she has to stop running once her helicopter abandons her.

At the end of the day, Mozzie is better and Peter will turn the diamond over to the state department. All is well except for Neal’s freedom. Peter makes a call and recommends that Neal be released from his anklet.

WC_513_0011

As Mozzie and Neal discuss what Neal’s freedom will mean, Neal notices that he is being watched. He tells Mozzie that he will leave the criminal life after he gets his freedom.

WC_513_1019

Unfortunately, that isn’t going to happen because the FBI doesn’t want to lose Neal as an asset. This makes Peter change his mind about going to D.C., but that doesn’t stop Elizabeth who already accepted a job at the National Gallery. She is willing to try long distance, but Peter would be giving up a lot to stay in New York. She wears a grey zip up hoodie while packing up the house. This North Face Kirata Full Zip Hoodie ($90) is similar:

hoodie Neal agrees to let Mozzie crack his anklet so that he can take his freedom. Before they can figure out that plan, Neal is black bagged by the man who was following him and thrown into a van with his anklet thrown out the window.

Now that we know there are only six episodes left of the series, what do you think will happen to Neal next season? Who do you think abducted him? Will he ever get his freedom? What will happen to Peter and Elizabeth?

If you missed this week’s episode, you can still purchase it from iTunes for $2.99.

The Crazy Ones “Simon Roberts Was Here” Recap

This week on The Crazy Ones, Simon (Robin Williams) gets a quant and Sydney (Sarah Michelle Gellar) gets a cat.

A cat food client decides to hire Lewis, Roberts & Roberts because of their increased focus on numbers and data. Simon thing advertising is an art, not a science and doesn’t think that Colin (Sandeep Parikh), the quant, understands advertising. The client also drops off Princess the cat so the office can get a feel for their business.

Sydney wears the Gaylord Plaid Knit Jacket from Isabel Marant ($480). This Star Jones Tweed Jacket ($49.87) is similar:

Screen Shot 2014-03-09 at 8.56.34 PM

Simon and Colin make a bet – the winner gets to pitch the client their way. So they decide that they each have to come up with a campaign for Ice. Simon will be creative and Colin will use science. Unfortunately, Colin wins the bet and the team judges that his ad is the better one.

Screen Shot 2014-03-09 at 9.10.06 PM

After Simon loses the bet, he decides to completely embrace the numbers. He figures out that the quant made profiles on each team member so that the ad would specifically target them.

Sydney’s relationship with Princess takes an interesting turn. She isn’t really a cat person, but Princess starts to grow on her. Sydney is upset when she finds out that Colin’s profile on her predicts that she will be single forever. He tells her that the best way to avoid this is to ignore her new relationship with Princess and not become a cat person.

Sydney wears the Emeraude Top by Sandro ($260) and the Smoking Tux Jacket by Helmut Lang ($575). To recreate the look I found this Greylin Black And White ‘Renee’ Lace Accent Short Sleeve Top ($49.50) and Bisou Bisou High-Low Ruffled Jacket ($39.99):

Screen Shot 2014-03-09 at 9.23.49 PM

Colin presents his new cat food ad based on the numbers. Simon is distraught about this turn of events and all seems lost until Simon stumbles upon a billboard that the team put up for him, but ends up getting arrested for graffiti.

Lauren (Amanda Setton) ends up getting the security footage of Sydney giving in and bonding with Mr. Princess and her and Andrew (Hamish Linklater) thing that she is going down the crazy cat lady path. Mr. Princess has to go back to the client and the team is worried that she will fall apart when the cat leaves.

Sydney wears a Floral Print Jacket from Rebecca Taylor ($198). I love this floral blazer from Old Navy ($39.94) to recreate the look:

Screen Shot 2014-03-09 at 9.44.17 PM

After his stint in jail, Simon has a breakthrough. He can take what the quant learned and add his own creative spin to it. The client hated the quant’s data only ad, but they loved Simon’s creative ad based from the data.

Simon convinces Sydney to keep the cat and that it doesn’t necessarily mean she will be single forever. When she takes Mr. Princess home she meets a sexy veterinarian in the hallway and there is a glimpse of hope that this doesn’t mean that she will be the crazy cat lady after all.

She wears a fabulous sold-out Ted Baker Adalya coat. I found two great matches, a Calvin Klein Sweater Knit Swing Coat ($171) and a Calvin Klein Blue Stretch Double Breasted Belted Trench Coat ($99):

Screen Shot 2014-03-09 at 10.02.40 PM

I couldn’t help reading a little too much into this episode, because in my line of work (social media) anytime you can back things up with analytics the clients love it! So I definitely found the humor in this.

What did you think about this episode?

If you missed this episode, you can purchase it on iTunes for $2.99.

5 on Friday: Oscars Best Dressed Edition

It’s time for another edition of Five on Friday with A Liz AdventuresThe Good Life BlogHello Happiness and Carolina Charm.

THE GOOD LIFE BLOG

The Academy Awards were last Sunday and we saw some amazing outfits. I fell in love with a few looks and it reminded me of Gwyneth Paltrow’s pink Ralph Lauren Dress at the 1999 Academy Awards. I loved that dress and actually purchased a look for less that I wore on a cruise after graduation.

52438026This inspired me to pick my top favorite looks from Sunday’s awards and find a great look for less. Here are my top picks:

1. Lupita Nyong in Prada

This was by far my favorite dress of the evening, It is just stunning and so feminine. I found this Faviana chiffon dress with a beaded belt ($438):

Screen Shot 2014-03-06 at 10.24.47 PM

I recently stumbled across this Donna Morgan Julie Twist Gown ($230) that would also be a great match:

Cougar Town “The Trip to Pirate’s Cove” Recap

This week on Cougar Town, Ellie (Christa Miller) is enjoying the perks of being the mayor’s wife – drinking wine in public, handicapped parking, free stamps and getting the fire department to open jars for you. She’s living the life.

Laurie wears an orange hi-low dress with a cute jean jacket. I found this Culture Phit Lacie High-Low Dress ($67.99) and 1969 Gap Denim Jacket ($69.95) to recreate the look:

Screen Shot 2014-03-07 at 9.02.18 PM

Jules (Courtney Cox) wears the sold-out JCrew Boy Shirt.  This Everyday Plaid Shirt from Forever 21 ($19.80) is similar:

Screen Shot 2014-03-08 at 8.02.40 AM

It’s Buccaneer Week and as mayor, Andy (Ian Gomez) has to help things run smoothly or the town might oust him as mayor. What he really needs is some help from Charming Ellie.

buccaneer week

Ellie wears the Schoolboy Blazer from JCrew ($198) and a sold-out wheat print blouse from Phillip Lim. I used this Classiques Entier Flawless Jersey blouse to recreate the look ($110):

Screen Shot 2014-03-08 at 8.29.02 AM

While Grayson’s (Josh Hopkins) bar is booming, Laurie’s Krazy Kakes business is flailing. She needs to find a way to get parents to purchase cakes for their kids. Tom (Bob Clendenin) asks Laurie to make a dirty cake for a bachelor party and she agrees. She wears a black polka dot Jessie Steele Apron from Layla Grace ($32) and a pink dress with cut-out sleeves. I found some similar style dresses from Gibson ($58) and Eliza J ($54.97) and this Aqua Multicolor Bib Necklace ($34) to complete the look:

Screen Shot 2014-03-08 at 10.11.03 AM

Buccaneer Week is going smoothly, until Bobby (Brian Van Holt) stumbles upon killer jellyfish and decides to warn the town to stay out of the water. Unfortunately, it is a big week for Gulfhaven and they can’t have the beaches close because they would lose tourist money. To keep his job, Andy has to let everyone know that he doesn’t believe Bobby’s jellyfish story and Bobby is crushed. Andy convinces Bobby to publicly address the town and smooth things over, but he just makes it worse for Andy.

In the meantime, Ellie has to become Charming Ellie to charm Gulfhaven’s ladies who lunch. Jules can’t believe Ellie’s transformation and dubs her “Chellie.” It’s all going well until Ellie finds out that Jules likes Chellie better. Jules wears a red sleeveless blouson dress and Ellie wears a sold-out Vince colorblock cardigan. I found a similar Adrianna Papell Blouson Dress ($138) and Gabriella Rocha Sheila Color Block Cardigan ($40.99) to recreate their looks:

Screen Shot 2014-03-08 at 3.59.45 PM

Screen Shot 2014-03-08 at 4.12.16 PM

Laurie’s naughty Krazy Kakes are taking off, but Grayson warns her that she is on a slippery slope. Eventually, she has to kick all creepy weirdos out of her shop after they take it too far.

1794615_519908528125930_1298020450_n

In the end, Andy and Bobby agree to go and test the water together, but are stung by jellyfish – at least they were together!

Jules convinces Ellie to be herself again, but with a side of Chellie for her so everyone wins!

5 on Friday: Academy Awards Edition

It’s time for another edition of Five on Friday with A Liz AdventuresThe Good Life BlogHello Happiness and Carolina Charm.

THE GOOD LIFE BLOG

I have been working extra hard lately at my day job which means late nights and not a lot of time for blogging. I hope this weekend will give me some time to catch up, but in the meantime I am enjoying keeping up with the 5 on Friday posts. It gives me something to look forward to every week.

I decided this week’s 5 on Friday would be about the Academy Awards. I used to love to host Oscar parties when I lived with my parents, but I haven’t had the chance to do one in the past few years. I was going to write this post about my favorite items from the 2014 gift bags, but I didn’t really see anything affordable that appealed to me. So I decided to create my own Detroit Duchess Academy Awards gift bags. Here are a few of glamorous things I would include in my gift bags:

First of all, I would use these fabulous Kate Spade reusable shopping bags ($16) as the actual gift bag:

Screen Shot 2014-02-27 at 10.32.00 PM

1. Deborah Mitchell Bee Venom Mask ($45.22)

This is the favorite face treatment of Kate Middleton and Camilla Parker Bowles. It’s touted as nature’s alternative to Botox and is definitely something that has been on my list for a while.

Screen Shot 2014-02-27 at 11.06.38 PM

2. Alpepi Plus ($64.99)

The gift bags usually have some sort of technology gift and I thought this mobile phone charger would be perfect. You can take this with you on a hike, at the mall, or anywhere you don’t have the ability to plug in. It works for both Apple and Android devices. The cutest part is that it’s shaped like an apple!

3. Faux Fur Keyhole Scarf ($19.99)

I don’t know why but I always think of fur scarves as so luxurious. I have wanted one for a while and you can’t beat the price on this one from The Limited.

Screen Shot 2014-02-28 at 7.48.02 AM

4. Clare Vivier Foldover Leopard Clutch ($210)

I had this on my list last summer and thought it was sold out. Imagine my surprise when I found it in one of my searches! I think this is just darling.

Screen Shot 2014-02-28 at 8.18.23 AM

5. Kate Spade Silver Street Flask ($40)

What says Oscars more than a cocktail? I was actually in the market for a nice looking flask and when I stumbled upon this one I couldn’t resist. I love the Happy Hour text on the front.

The Bachelor – Week 4 Recap

This week on The Bachelor, the ladies and Juan Pablo travel to Seoul, South Korea. Chris Harrison kicks it off, letting us know that there are only 13 girls left.

Once the ladies arrive in Seoul, there is a group date card waiting for Elise, Danielle, Cassandra, Kat, Chelsie and Nikki that reads “Pop.” Nikki is less than thrilled to be going on a group date and her attitude permeates the entire date.

For the date, Juan Pablo and the ladies get to be backup dancers for one of the top Korean Pop (KPOP) groups, 2NE1. Kat is thrilled to be on this date, because she’s been a dancer her whole life. Nikki again is not thrilled because she is a terrible dancer.

The song turns out to be pretty catchy and most everyone has a great time (minus Nikki). At that evening’s cocktail party, Kat really opens up to JP. She wears an orange body con dress. I found a similar tangelo Gemma Knit Sweater dress from BCBGMAXAZRIA ($79.99):

Elise makes a rookie mistake and starts her time out by talking about the other girls. Never use your one-on-one time to talk about other girls. She looked great in her blue lace dress though! It looks like it was the Nicole Miller Fair Lady Dress, which you can rent for $40 on Rent the Runway:

The ladies weren’t happy when Nikki ended up receiving the rose. Juan Pablo seems to really like her, much to everyone else’s dismay.

Back at the hotel, the one-on-one date card arrives for Sharleen and says “Will you be my Seoul mate?” Clare wears the Forever 21 Free Spirit Natural Stone Necklace ($10.80) and has a weird edit from a few weeks ago wearing the white sparkly top, which was probably taped then and shown now. There are probably a ton of those, but I just noticed that one because I remembered the top.

Insert gratuitous shower seen with JP as he gets ready for his date with Sharleen. They explore the streets of Seoul together, try some weird food and then have a weird conversation at a traditional Korean tea room. The only thing I can figure about these two is opposites attract. They just don’t seem to fit together, but she keeps coming back for more.

During the evening portion of their date, JP convinces Sharleen to sing for him which I think makes him like her even more. This girl is a mystery to him and he can’t get enough of her. She wears a sexy black lace dress – I found a similar Eliza J Ruched Lace Dress ($158):

At dinner, Sharleen reveals that she really hasn’t thought about kids and that she isn’t too excited about the idea of having to raise someone else’s child. Despite that revelation, JP still gives her the rose. Whatever she is doing it is working for JP.

The next group date card arrives for Renee, Andi, Alli, Clare, Lauren and Kelly. It says “Let’s get Krazy in Korea.” The girls kick off the date at a karaoke house, followed by paddleboating. Then they all are treated to fish pedicures, which is sort of a weird date activity, but when in Rome…

Juan Pablo cannot contain his excitement about making Clare try octopus, he has been waiting the entire date to spring this on her. She eventually tries it, but after a lot of dramatics. JP seemed to love it and was proud that she tried something new.

The evening portion of the date was interesting as JP decided that he didn’t want to kiss anyone because he didn’t want his daughter to see him kissing 27 different women. Renee was the first one to get turned down. Girlfriend is just too nice, she needs to go for it already. Then Lauren was up next, she tried to kiss him and his reaction was to say “I have a daughter.” This is where I got really annoyed with JP. He keeps using Camila as an excuse for not kissing someone, but it is obvious that he just doesn’t want to kiss the girls he doesn’t like. I wish he would just be honest and not kiss them instead of using Camila.

He has no problem kissing Clare on this date, but she is mad when Andi receives the group date rose instead of her.

The rose ceremony was held at an ancient Korean palace which was pretty cool. Right at the start, Sharleen lets us know that all of the girls have agreed if they already have a rose they won’t interrupt other girls’ time with Juan Pablo. This is the perfect intro to Nikki interrupting Clare’s along time with JP.

Clare wears a sold-out Bebe leatherette keyhole tank dress. I found a similar dress from Shani ($280):

Kelly wears a sold-out BCBGMAXAZRIA One-Shoulder Sequin dress. There are a number available here on eBay.

Kat wore a black sequin Rebecca Minkoff off-shoulder sequin dress ($295). You can also find the gold version here:

Lauren and Elise were sent home this week, which was probably for the best as Elise was the worst dressed at the rose ceremony. What was she wearing?

Next week the ladies travel to Vietnam with Juan Pablo.

For this week’s deleted scenes, we start with JP talking about their first international trip:

The next deleted scene shows Clare, Renee and Kelly talking about Nikki’s personality:

The last deleted scene shows Juan Pablo’s first deliberation with Chris Harrison. It’s sort of obvious here that he is really into Nikki:
