Five on Friday: All Things Pineapple

I am in love with all things pineapple right now! This post is my love letter to all of the awesome pineapple things I’m loving at the moment.

1.Vince Camuto Maro Faux Leather Tote ($88.80)

This tote was the catalyst for today’s post. I’m pretty much in love with it…and it’s on sale too!

2. colada pineapple vase-planter ($6.95)

I am giving this adorable pineapple planter away to one lucky reader…make sure to enter here!

3. Pineapple Stone Necklace ($19.99)

These are dainty and perfect for a little touch of summer to an otherwise boring outfit. Plus they come in rose gold, silver and gold so you have options.

4. Sass & Belle Exclusive Rose Gold Pineapple Money Pot ($29)

I sort of have a thing for piggy banks. I have a ton of different ones and even got a bride and groom set when we were saving for the wedding, so when I saw this one I had to add it to my collection.

5. Chelsea Peers Rose Gold Pineapple Pajama Set ($56)

I’ve died and gone to heaven with these pineapple pajamas! I literally can’t even contain my excitement about them. They are perfect in every way.

I could probably write five more of these just about pineapples so I will stop here, but I would love for you to comment with your favorite pineapple item. If I get enough of them I will do a Part 2!

August Pinspired: Kate Middleton’s Wimbledon Look

Like many others I was enamored with Kate Middleton’s Wimbledon looks, especially this fun polka dot dress. I loved it so much that I decided to recreate it for myself.

©Gareth Fuller/PA Wire

Her dress was Dolce & Gabbana’s Polka-Dot Print Silk-Blend Charmeuse Dress ($1,557):

I found three similar looks, for a lot less. The first one is from Sue&Joe, a Polka Dot Summer Dress ($23.99):

The second one is this Julian Taylor Women’s Polka Dot Short Sleeved Fit and Flare Dress ($58.80):

The third option is ACEVOG’s Vintage 50s Retro Rockabilly Polka Dot Classy Tea Dress ($35.98):

She paired this dress with the Nina Block Heel Sandals in Black Nubuck (about $80):

I also have three shoe options to choose from. Some brands just fit better on different feet so I like to have options. The first one is Sam Edelman’s Yaro Ankle Strap Sandal ($119.95):

Next is Vince Camuto’s Corlina Ankle Strap Sandal ($99.95):

The third option is the Steve Madden Carrson Sandal ($89.95):

Kate is carrying Victoria Beckham’s Quincy textured-leather tote ($1575):

This Michael Kors Mercer Large Leather Tote ($238.40) would work and is a fraction of the Victoria Beckham bag:

What do you think of Kate’s Wimbledon look?

I have been eyeing Trollbeads social media channels the past few weeks to get some inspiration on what I might like. Here are a few looks I will be checking out on Saturday:

These leather bracelets are really fun and light:

I love this stacked bangle look:

I am enamored with this back necklace:

Will I see you next Saturday at Trollbeads?

Bachelorette 13 – Week 7

Here we are – hometown dates. Rachel starts her week off in Baltimore with Eric. She wore the Rails Hunter Button Up ($148), Basic Beaded Necklace from Peggy Li ($29), Kendra Scott Naomi Double Ring – it looks like she stacked two of these the Iridescent Druzy and the Rose Gold Druzy ($130/each), and Paul Green Women’s Alexandra Heeled Sandal ($297.46). To recreate her look, I found this Sanctuary Womens Boyfriend Plaid Button-Down Top ($38.76) and these Circus by Sam Edelman Kipling Peep Toe Booties ($35):

Next up is Miami with Bryan. Rachel wore a NICHOLAS Floral-Print Handkerchief-Hem Top ($122) and the Robyn Rhodes Felice Ring ($79.99). This Vince Camuto Glacier Floral Tank Top ($79) is similar:

Next up is Rachel’s date with Peter in Madison, Wisconsin. Rachel wore a sold out 360 Cashmere Peaches Linen Tank and the  Basic Beaded Necklace from Peggy Li ($29) she wore to Eric’s hometown above. This B Collection by Bobeau Double Layer Tank Top ($19) is similar:

Whew…Rachel’s date with Dean in Aspen was brutal. I feel like they shouldn’t have shown that on TV. Rachel wore a sold out Tart Ilianna Cardigan and the Basic Beaded Necklace from Peggy Li ($29) that she’s been sporting throughout the whole episode. This Style & Co Ombré Duster Cardigan ($39.99) is a great alternative:

To add insult to injury, Rachel eliminated Dean during the rose ceremony. Rachel wore a gown from Theia Couture. This other Theia Metallic Beaded Gown at Saks ($466.20) is very similar:

What did you think about the hometown dates? Are you ready to meet Rachel’s family next week in Spain?

Wine of the Week: Belle Glos Pinot Noir Blanc

I’ve mentioned before that one of my favorite wines is the Belle Glos Pinot Noir. Well imagine my surprise when I saw this in my Facebook feed!

As this was the first I had heard about it I immediately had to have it and found and online retailer that sold it. Craft & Curd had it for $18.99 and I bought three bottles just in case it became unavailable.

The Belle Glos Pinot Noir Blanc is special because its grapes were grown specifically with the intention of making a rosé wine. On the label, you’ll notice that it says “oeil-de-perdrix” which translates to “eye of the partridge.” This is how rosé is traditionally known in France. I was even more thrilled to discover that a portion of the proceeds for every bottle sold go towards breast cancer research!

This wine is crisp with flavors of pink grapefruit, lemon zest, orange creamsicle and hints of dried apricot and sweet spice. Drink it chilled preferably on the patio with your girlfriends.

The glass is from Detroit Scroll in case you’re interested.

Bachelorette 13 – Week 6

This week Rachel and the men are in beautiful Switzerland. As Rachel is taking in the city, she wore an All Saints Balfern Leather Biker Jacket ($560), a Paige Iris Skirt ($62.99) and what looks like the Hannah Necklace from Robyn Rhodes ($99.99). This BlankNYC ‘Easy Rider’ Faux Leather Moto Jacket ($64.60) is similar:

Rachel has decided that there will be three one-on-one dates this week and a three-on-one group date so she can make her decisions about hometowns. She kicks it off with Bryan in a sold-out Tibi hi-low turtleneck and the Ramy Brook Lincoln Pants ($172.50). I found a similar look in gray with the Premise Cashmere Hi-Low Pullover Sweater ($189.90) and the Style & Co Stretch Wide-Leg Pants ($27.98):

Rachel and Bryan are continuing to heat up during their dinner date. She wore a sold out Cushnie Et Ochs One Shoulder Mock Neck Dress. This NY&C Sleeveless Turtleneck Dress ($11.73) is similar:

Rachel’s next one-on-one is with Dean. She looks classic in her sold out Zara Robin Blue Double Breasted Coat and 3.1 PHILLIP LIM Long Sleeve Pointelle Lace Dress ($215) or here . To recreate her look I found this Shein Double Breasted Flap Pocket Coat ($41) and Betsey Johnson Textured Knit Sheath Dress ($138):

For the serious dinner date with Dean, Rachel wore a Solace London long-sleeved cape dress. I found this NY&C Eva Mendes Collection Tessa Cape Sheath Dress ($44.97):

Next up is Rachel’s one-on-one date with Peter on the side of a glacier. She wore the 66 North Esja Long Parka ($650) and Brochu Walker Carrie Turtleneck Sweater ($119.97). To recreate her look for less, try this 1 Madison Insulated Parka with Faux Fur Trim ($151.92) and Style & Co. Cowl Neck Sweater ($18.99):

Rachel and Peter’s one-on-one time was so meaningful. I feel like he definitely opened up to her. She wore a Randi Rahm cocktail dress and a Jesse & Co. body chain ($65) on the back. I thought this Stylestalker Riscal Midi Dress ($189) was similar:

Rachel takes Eric, Adam and Matt on the group date and decides to send Matt home and give Eric the group date rose securing him a hometown date. She wore the sold out Mackage Joslyn Coat and I loved her Tiffany blue scarf. I found this NY&CO Shawl Collar Wrap Coat ($74.97) and this Fargo Scarf from Topman ($25) to recreate her look:

During the evening portion of the date, Rachel invites Adam and Eric back to a castle to deliberate on who she will send home. She wore a black halter dress that had a cool beaded neckline. I found this similar Carmen Marc Valvo Embellished Neck Halter Dress ($357):

Rachel ended up giving her rose to Eric and sent Adam home…I hate to break it to these guys but if you didn’t get the one-on-one you probably aren’t going to make it too much further either way…

Rachel had a number of looks this week and her makeup artist Gina Modica came through with the makeup to match:

Stay tuned to next week for all the hometown dates!

Celebrating Four Years of Blogging

Four years ago I took a leap of faith and hit publish on this little blog of mine. Since then, I’ve learned so much about blogging, writing and social media and had a lot of fun in the process. I’ve had some amazing opportunities with partners and sponsors and am always honored when amazing companies want to work with me. I mentioned in my Miracle Morning post at the beginning of the year, that this last year was personally very difficult for me. My posts have been fewer and further between, but I’m glad I pushed through and didn’t give this up. For those of you that have kept reading, I LOVE having you here. My sincerest wish for this site is for you to imagine we are enjoying some girl talk over a glass of wine.

As I tried to take some photos, Sport kept trying to eat my candle – this little boy brings me tons of joy! I thought Sport and I would announce my annual blogiversary giveaway with a month of giveaways. Enter the giveaway below and each week I will choose another winner.

Week 1 – August 8

I started The Miracle Morning this year and it has changed everything! I want to help someone else change their life so I’m giving away a copy of Hal Elrod’s The Miracle Morning as my first prize.

Week 2 – August 15

This year, I was able to attend a screening of Beauty and the Beast and this was one of my favorite movies. Of all the Disney princesses I most identified with Belle. As a child I always had my nose in a book. I loved the live action movie so much and want to give away a little piece of the story to my readers. My second prize is this Beauty and the Beast stained glass rose compact. It is so beautiful!

Week 3 – August 22

Speaking of movie screenings, I covered 50 Shades Darker this year and had SO much fun at the screening and pulling together Anastasia’s looks from the movie. I’m a huge romance novel fan (my guilty pleasure) and 50 Shades is one of my favorites. I recently re-read the books and wanted to give one reader her very own masquerade mask. This is the authentic Samantha Peach mask that Anastasia wore in the movie.

Week 4 – August 29

Last but not least, is this adorable little pineapple planter from my Summer Favorites list. I am obsessed with pineapples right now and I thought this would look perfect in someone’s home.

You can enter the giveaway here, and I will announce a new winner each week. Thank you for all of your support over the past four years!

Bachelorette 13 – Week 5 Part 2

We picked back up on the two-on-one, where Rachel finally sent Lee home. The whole thing was really immature – I couldn’t believe Kenny left Rachel to go back…he may have a rose but he pretty much sealed his fate in that moment. Rachel looked comfy in a white v-neck sweater. I found this Anne Klein Ribbed Hem V-Neck Sweater ($34.97) to recreate her look:

Rachel arrived at the rose ceremony wearing a gold Randi Rahm creation. I found two similar options to recreate her look. The first, this Cannes Dress from Nookie ($469) and the second, the X Revolve Alitz Gown from NBD ($288):

You can see her gorgeous makeup from The Bachelor’s resident artist, Gina Modica:

Rachel decided to let Anthony and Josiah go home this week. Josiah was a little surprised that she kept some of the men over him. Rachel flew out to meet the men in Copenhagen for the next leg of their journey. She wore a Mackage Double Face Wool Blend Coat ($374.97), CHAN LUU Ombré cashmere and silk-blend scarf ($205) and Coup’s Mr. Right Earrings ($340). To recreate the look I found two coat options with Laundry By Shelli Segal Wool-Blend Wrap Coat ($136.99) and Diane von Furstenberg Two Tone Double Face Wool Blend Wrap Coat ($219.97) this Paul Smith Women’s Light Pink Ombré Lambswool-Cashmere Scarf ($195), and A.B.S. By Allen Schwartz Teardrop Earrings ($24.99):

Rachel took Eric on the first one-on-one date this week and she wore a Mackage Nori Belted Wool Blend Coat ($690), sold out Maison Mere Sweater, Nanfusco Palmwood Necklace ($7,175), Sermona Gloves ($69). To recreate the look, I found this Belle Badgley Mischka ‘Lorian’ Faux Leather Trim Belted Asymmetrical Wool Blend Coat ($299), Old Navy Textured Raglan-Sleeve Sweater for Women ($34.99), and Radiant – Petrified Palmwood & Citrine Sterling Silver Necklace ($185):

I loved Rachel’s glowy look which you can get below:

Eric got the rose and the next day, Rachel took the rest of the group on a Viking themed date. Her outfit was perfect for what they did and her stylist, Cary Fetman, got a great picture:

Her cape is from Blessed Are the Meek, the pants are the cropped skinny trousers from Frame, and those fabulous brown gloves. To recreate her outfit, I found this Loose Fit Slit Hooded Cape Coat ($30.99), C by Bloomingdale’s Cashmere Crewneck Sweater ($79.99), Karen Karen Stretch Faux Leather Skinny Pants ($109), and Saks Fifth Avenue Polished Leather Gloves ($79.99):

During the evening cocktail party, Rachel sent Kenny home to his daughter and it was the nicest breakup yet. Rachel wore a sold out lace tank from Wolford and a black tuxedo jacket from Theory. To recreate her look, I found this Bailey/44 Bravura Top ($178) and Shawl Collar Tuxedo Blazer ($88.80).

Rachel took Will on a one-on-one date to Sweden and looked fresh faced in a green coat, white scarf and chocolate beanie. I found this Michael Kors Hooded Drawstring Long Coat ($79.90), Pashmina Style Scarf ($15.99) and Cashmere Knit Beanie ($39) to recreate this look:

Following their dinner, Rachel sent Will home. She wore a the Ivana Cold Shoulder Cashmere Sweater Dress from 360 Cashmere ($149.99) and three different rings from Robyn Rhodes. The Aella Ring ($74.99), the Jona Ring ($74.99), and the Valery Ring ($74.99). This Jessica Simpson Cold-Shoulder Sweater Dress ($69.50) is similar:

I loved Rachel’s look as she was walking and deliberating prior to the rose ceremony. She had on this great black trench coat and a cool wine colored cut out sweater. For this look, I found a Splendid Draped Trench Coat ($124.60) and this Cashmere Cutout Turtleneck Sweater ($118.80) which looks like the exact same sweater.

For the rose ceremony, Rachel wore a custom Randi Rahm black velvet halter gown and she sent home our Michigan boy, Alex. I found two great options to get this look. Both from Shail K, the first, a High Halter Lace-Up Velvet Sheath Gown ($250) and the second, a Jewel-Neck Long Velvet Sheath Gown ($250):

Her look, from the talented Gina Modica, was on point:

I like all the guys she has left, especially Peter – I mean, should we just start calling him McDreamy?

Who are your favorites?

Freshen Up Your Home with Febreze One

Disclosure: I received sample products and a gift card from Meijer in exchange for this post. All opinions expressed are my own.

Have you ever walked into someone’s home and could tell they had a pet even before seeing it? Many times they have become immune to the smell and don’t realize that their guests can’t ignore it. Sport is the apple of our eye, but sometimes he has a smell only we can love. There are tons of things you can do to combat pet odor, but sometimes you just need something to tide you over until the next wash. Enter Febreze One

I know you’ve heard of Febreze before, but the new Febreze One uses “flairisol” technology for a light spray and it’s the first of its kind that contains no aerosols, dyes of heavy perfumes. I was please to hear this because John is very sensitive to smells in the house, so I don’t like to use things that will irritate him. Febreze One was just released at your local Meijer on July 23 and is available in Mandarin, Bamboo and Orchid scents. I tested out the Bamboo and Orchid scents.

We keep a crate for Sport and he spends his afternoons there while we are at work. We first used towels in the bottom of his crate, but they didn’t make for a comfortable surface, so we upgraded to a very plush pad. Sport loves the pad, but it retains a lot more puppy odor. I have a reminder in my phone to move and clean his crate/wash the pad at least once a month. In between that monthly cleaning, we need Febreze One to keep it fresh.

We have a bed for Sport in our bedroom and he will chill out there at night sometimes and when we are getting ready in the morning. I usually put a blanket over the bed so I can wash it more often. If you get close enough you can definitely smell dog which is where we need the Febreze One. Our bedroom is supposed to be our sanctuary so we want it to smell fresh.

Sport also likes to sleep in our bed most nights and since our comforter is dryclean only, I only take it in to be cleaned once a year. I change the sheets once a week, but a lot of times I’ll catch Sport laying on our bed, which is fine, but you can definitely tell where his spot is. Febreze One is the perfect solution to keep our comforter fresh and airy and not smelling like dog.

If you have an mPerks account, Meijer is currently offering a coupon to save $1.50 when you purchase a Febreze One Starter Mist through July 29.

Do you use Febreze to freshen up your home? What are your tips to combat pet odors?

Bachelorette 13 – Week 5 Part 1

Jack Stone gets the next one-on-one date and Rachel wore a cute leather jacket, a mesh, embroidered dress and cute booties. To recreate the look I found this ASOS Sleeveless Embroidered Dobby Mesh Skater Dress ($72), Blank NYC Life Changer Moto Jacket ($98) and Dolce Vita Double Buckle Peep Toe Suede Booties ($59.99):

On this date, she wore a number of Robyn Rhodes rings, including the Foxglove ring ($29.99), the Forget Me Not ring ($42.99), the Rosemary ring ($59.99), and the Thistle ring ($39.99):

https://www.instagram.com/p/BV2qbE5lcqX/?taken-by=robynrhodes

Rachel’s outfit looked more cozy than Jack Stone, who got sent home during dinner. It was so obvious that they didn’t have chemistry in this scene, it was awkward to watch. I loved Rachel’s gray cardigan sweater and thought this Halogen Rib Knit Wool & Cashmere Cardigan ($149) is similar:

Rachel cancelled the cocktail party and wore a sexy, custom Randi Rahm gown with a high slit up the thigh to send home Iggy and the Tickle Monster. It was hard to find anything similar, but you could try this Sequined Lace High Slit Fit and Flare Evening Dress by Jasz Couture ($224):

Rachel’s makeup is on point with this look:

The episode picks up on the next week where Rachel and the guys travel to Oslo, Norway. Rachel wore a BB Dakota Cowl Neck Sweater ($60). I think this BB Dakota Tegan Off the Shoulder Sweater ($83.60) is the same or similar but I can’t quite tell from the photo:

Rachel is sporting the Robyn Rhodes Xyris ($63.99) and Oleander ($49.99) necklaces.

She also wore the Harlow ($69.99) ring.

She takes Bryan on a crazy rappelling date (no thank you!). During the evening dinner, Rachel wore a sexy Jovani 36730 Jumpsuit ($480). I thought this LuLu’s Thinking Out Loud Black Backless Jumpsuit ($49) had a similar feel at a more reasonable price.

The next day, Rachel took the men to learn how to play handball while Kenny and Lee stayed back to prep for their two-on-one. I loved Rachel’s cool black and gold bomber jacket and found this Satin Brocade Bomber Jacket ($25) which you could style similarly.

Rachel turned it up for the evening party with a Mackage Alva Fitted Leather Skirt ($450), ALC Valerie Sweater ($375), Sam Edelman Kent Over the Knee Boots ($99.97), and Nan Fusco Woven Chain Dusters.  This Bishop + Young Vegan Leather Skirt ($64.99), Lace-Up Back Circle Hem Sweater ($47.92), and Ettika Chain Tassel Drop Earrings ($35) are similar looks for less:

Rachel arrives by helicopter to pick up Kenny and Lee for their face off. As she arrives we get a peak at her Robyn Rhodes Aella Ring ($74.99). You can select a variety of different colored stones.

This two-on-one ends in a cliffhanger, but I’m pretty much ready for her to be done with both of them. I liked Kenny, but he needs to grow up and learn to ignore Lee. The fact that he can’t do that is pretty unattractive.

What did you think about this two-on-one?
