The Bachelor – Week 4 Recap

This week on The Bachelor, the ladies and Juan Pablo travel to Seoul, South Korea. Chris Harrison kicks it off, letting us know that there are only 13 girls left.

Once the ladies arrive in Seoul, there is a group date card waiting for Elise, Danielle, Cassandra, Kat, Chelsie and Nikki that reads “Pop.” Nikki is less than thrilled to be going on a group date and her attitude permeates the entire date.

For the date, Juan Pablo and the ladies get to be backup dancers for one of the top Korean Pop (KPOP) groups, 2NE1. Kat is thrilled to be on this date, because she’s been a dancer her whole life. Nikki again is not thrilled because she is a terrible dancer.

The song turns out to be pretty catchy and most everyone has a great time (minus Nikki). At that evening’s cocktail party, Kat really opens up to JP. She wears an orange body con dress. I found a similar tangelo Gemma Knit Sweater dress from BCBGMAXAZRIA ($79.99):

Elise makes a rookie mistake and starts her time out by talking about the other girls. Never use your one-on-one time to talk about other girls. She looked great in her blue lace dress though! It looks like it was the Nicole Miller Fair Lady Dress, which you can rent for $40 on Rent the Runway:

The ladies weren’t happy when Nikki ended up receiving the rose. Juan Pablo seems to really like her, much to everyone else’s dismay.

Back at the hotel, the one-on-one date card arrives for Sharleen and says “Will you be my Seoul mate?” Clare wears the Forever 21 Free Spirit Natural Stone Necklace ($10.80) and has a weird edit from a few weeks ago wearing the white sparkly top, which was probably taped then and shown now. There are probably a ton of those, but I just noticed that one because I remembered the top.

Insert gratuitous shower seen with JP as he gets ready for his date with Sharleen. They explore the streets of Seoul together, try some weird food and then have a weird conversation at a traditional Korean tea room. The only thing I can figure about these two is opposites attract. They just don’t seem to fit together, but she keeps coming back for more.

During the evening portion of their date, JP convinces Sharleen to sing for him which I think makes him like her even more. This girl is a mystery to him and he can’t get enough of her. She wears a sexy black lace dress – I found a similar Eliza J Ruched Lace Dress ($158):

At dinner, Sharleen reveals that she really hasn’t thought about kids and that she isn’t too excited about the idea of having to raise someone else’s child. Despite that revelation, JP still gives her the rose. Whatever she is doing it is working for JP.

The next group date card arrives for Renee, Andi, Alli, Clare, Lauren and Kelly. It says “Let’s get Krazy in Korea.” The girls kick off the date at a karaoke house, followed by paddleboating. Then they all are treated to fish pedicures, which is sort of a weird date activity, but when in Rome…

Juan Pablo cannot contain his excitement about making Clare try octopus, he has been waiting the entire date to spring this on her. She eventually tries it, but after a lot of dramatics. JP seemed to love it and was proud that she tried something new.

The evening portion of the date was interesting as JP decided that he didn’t want to kiss anyone because he didn’t want his daughter to see him kissing 27 different women. Renee was the first one to get turned down. Girlfriend is just too nice, she needs to go for it already. Then Lauren was up next, she tried to kiss him and his reaction was to say “I have a daughter.” This is where I got really annoyed with JP. He keeps using Camila as an excuse for not kissing someone, but it is obvious that he just doesn’t want to kiss the girls he doesn’t like. I wish he would just be honest and not kiss them instead of using Camila.

He has no problem kissing Clare on this date, but she is mad when Andi receives the group date rose instead of her.

The rose ceremony was held at an ancient Korean palace which was pretty cool. Right at the start, Sharleen lets us know that all of the girls have agreed if they already have a rose they won’t interrupt other girls’ time with Juan Pablo. This is the perfect intro to Nikki interrupting Clare’s along time with JP.

Clare wears a sold-out Bebe leatherette keyhole tank dress. I found a similar dress from Shani ($280):

Kelly wears a sold-out BCBGMAXAZRIA One-Shoulder Sequin dress. There are a number available here on eBay.

Kat wore a black sequin Rebecca Minkoff off-shoulder sequin dress ($295). You can also find the gold version here:

Lauren and Elise were sent home this week, which was probably for the best as Elise was the worst dressed at the rose ceremony. What was she wearing?

Next week the ladies travel to Vietnam with Juan Pablo.

For this week’s deleted scenes, we start with JP talking about their first international trip:

The next deleted scene shows Clare, Renee and Kelly talking about Nikki’s personality:

The last deleted scene shows Juan Pablo’s first deliberation with Chris Harrison. It’s sort of obvious here that he is really into Nikki:
