Summer 2014 TV Preview

I’m a little late on this one, but better late than never, right? Set your DVRs for what is shaping up to be a great summer lineup.

May 19

The Bachelorette (ABC)

Andi Dorfman is kicking things off on May 19 with another season of our favorite show. This season will be interesting because one of the contestants, Eric Hill, has since passed away. Hopefully, it will give people a chance to get to know him and maybe he will inspire us. Here’s a little taste of what we have in store this season:

You can read about Andi’s previous adventures on The Bachelor here.

June 2

Mistresses (ABC)

So I’m going to be honest here, I never finished last season. I was going to finish blogging it and I was saving them to watch later. So I think I am going to have a guilty pleasure Mistresses marathon before the season starts. This might be fun as I have two big trips coming up and I could probably get through the rest of the episodes on the plane.

You can catch up on my previous Mistresses recaps here.

June 11

Suits (USA)

We just watched the Suits season three finale, but not to worry, season four starts on June 11. The hubs will be happy to hear that – we love this show. In the finale, Mike decided to leave Pearson Spector and go legit. That was a bittersweet moment, but it will be interesting to see what happens to the characters now. Here is a preview of season four:

Graceland (USA)

This is another show that I started blogging about and saved the last few episodes to watch later than never did. Right now Comcast is offering the entire season On Demand so you can get caught up before the new season starts. You can also watch all of season one online here. I will definitely be taking advantage of this if not only for Daniel Sunjata. Here is a preview of season 2:

Here are my recaps of the first half of last season if you want to check it out.

June 22

True Blood (HBO)

So sad that it’s the last season of True Blood, but there are a lot of questions to be answered in Season 7. What happened to Eric? We thought Sookie would finally end up with Warlow, but he turned out to be a jerk. Surprisingly, Bill and company saved her, is there still a chance for those crazy kids to work things out? But hold up – fast forward six months into the future and Sookie is apparently with Alcide (what a rip off if you had been waiting forever to see them hook up and they just glossed over it!). Sam is the mayor and Tara may have reconciled with her mother once and for all. The preview for the final season looks pretty good, I can’t wait:

For my previous True Blood recaps, click here.

Falling Skies (TNT)

Season three definitely delivered on the finale and as we thought the Volm were up to no good. The 2nd Mass’ saviors turned out to be their downfall. Karen finally bought the bullet, but we did find out that Anne and Alexis were still alive. It will be interesting to see how the 2nd Mass gets out of this newest challenge now that the Eshpeni are gone.

If you have no idea what I’m talking about but want to get into Falling Skies, check out my recaps from Season 3 here.

June 24

Covert Affairs (USA)

Annie went all the way last season and finally killed Henry. I’m not sure what that will mean for season 5, but here’s a sneak peek:

June 30

Under the Dome (CBS)

This is another show that I watch with the hubs. This show is so weird, but we keep watching it, go figure… I assume that since it is back for Season two, the network will step it up a bit. With Stephen King at the helm, this is bound to get interesting.

July 6

Witches of East End (Lifetime)

I forgot about this one until Kerry from Till Then Smile Often reminded me. I watched the first season and this really warmed up at the finale. The portal to Asgard was opened and something came out, who knows what…Killian and Dash got their powers, unbeknownst to them and it will be interesting to watch them learn to use them in season two.

August 4

Bachelor in Paradise (ABC)

I cannot wait for this show. I am actually more excited about this than I am for Andi’s season. I can’t wait to see who will be case and how this show will work. More to come on this one soon I hope!

True Blood “At Last” Recap

This week on True Blood…

Sookie and Jason

The episode begins with Jason (Ryan Kwanten) unconscious and Sookie (Anna Paquin) needing to call an ambulance. While she is on the phone, Ben (Rob Kazinsky) reveals that he is a vampire and gives some of his blood to Jason. How is that possible? A vampire and a fairy?

Warlow

Sookie and Jason’s fairy grandfather (Rutger Hauer) chase Nora (Lucy Griffiths) down to find out what she knows about Warlow. She tells him that Warlow is Lillith’s progeny and the only one that can stop her. She gets caught by the governor’s men.

Sookie is surprised when Jason is suddenly okay. The fairy grandfather isn’t happy that Ben left to help Jason instead of talking to Nora.

Jason is exceptionally normal and doing pull ups and Sookie finds a drop of blood on the floor. She starts to question Ben’s intentions and realizes that something might be up.

As usual, after Jason has vampire blood, he starts to fantasize about Ben. Poor Jason always gets the short end of the stick.

Sookie decides to pay Ben a visit to invite him over for dinner to thank him for helping her…it sounds like she might be up to something. She wears the JCrew Jackie Cardigan ($65):

Jason confides to his fairy grandfather that he had some dreams about Ben. This makes him think that Ben might in fact be a vampire hybrid. They come to the conclusion that Ben is most likely Warlow and they decide to go after him themselves. He was expecting them and glamours Jason into forgetting what he knows. Warlow lets Jason say goodbye to his grandpa and then it gets weird. Warlow drinks his blood, but spits it out (possibly doing this to weaken him?). He takes grandpa to a portal and sends him through to some other dimension to spare him.

Back at Sookie’s, she is making dinner with a secret ingredient, Silver… She then starts preparing herself for an evening with Warlow by wearing provocative lingerie, the Darla Bra from Agent Provacateur ($190):

and the Urban Outfitters Ecote Ruffle Hem Lace Dress . You can still find a few on eBay for around $70:

Warlow is late to dinner, but finally shows up as Sookie starts to put everything away. She brings the food back out and he chows down, but he doesn’t have any weird reactions. They talk about her relationship with Bill and she says it ended because he lied to her – implying that if Warlow/Ben lies to her a relationship between them won’t work.

Sookie’s “date” with Warlow is going well and they start undressing each other. After she gets him into a vulnerable position she confronts him with her fairy lightening ball and tells him to get off of her.

Alcide and Sam

The pack is still dealing with their visit from the Vampire Unity Society. They realize that Sam (Sam Trammell) has taken Emma and they have to track him down.

Lafayette comes to rescue Sam, Emma (Chloe Noelle) and Nicole (Jurnee Smollett-Bell). Nicole is having trouble dealing with the fact that her friends are dead and the werewolves are coming after her.

nicole

Sam thanks Lafayette for his help, but doesn’t want him getting caught up with the wolves, so he sends him home. Sam finally comes clean with Nicole and shifts into a horse right in front of her so they can ride away. Nicole wears the Steve Madden Jaane Ankle Boot ($110.93-161.49):

Steve Madden Jaane Boot

Sam, Nicole and Emma find a motel for the night and Sam and Nicole bond over their recent losses. One thing leads to another and they have sex. I sort of felt like that came out of nowhere.

Eric, Pam and Tara

The governor’s men break in on poor Ginger (Tara Buck), thinking they will find Eric (Alexander Skarsgard). Of course, Ginger doesn’t remember anything.

Eric and Pam (Kristin Bauer Van Straten) have come after Tara (Rutina Wesley) who has hidden Willa (Amelia Rose Blaire) . She tells Eric where Willa is (after some threatening) and he tells them to meet back at the same spot the next day.

Eric catches up to Willa and she tells him that she is on his side because she doesn’t agree with what her father is doing to vampires. She also tells him that she thinks she deserves to taste his blood.

He decides to go further than that and turns Willa into a vampire so she can help him achieve his goal.

751726_tbjj604_3_6_04485B15D

After Willa is turned into a vampire, Eric tells her to go home to her father to try and persuade him that hunting vampires is not black and white.

On their way to meet Eric, Pam is captured by the Governor’s men. Tara witnesses what happens, but stays in the shadows because there are too many of them with advanced technology.

Willa goes home to confront her father and pleads with him to stop persecuting vampires. Sarah Newlin (Anna Camp) is there to save the Governor’s life when Willa gets too close. As a baby vamp, she was unable to control the temptation to feed on him. Sarah pushes him to send Willa to Camp Truman.

The Bellefleurs, Bill and Jessica

Andy’s (Chris Bauer) fairy daughters are listening to Terry’s (Todd Lowe) thoughts and they know he killed his friend Patrick and call him a killer. Arlene (Carrie Preston) tells them to mind their own business, but it’s too late, the guilt is starting to get to Terry.

Andy puts them to bed, but all of a sudden they are having another growth spurt and are suddenly teenagers. Since they don’t know how long their lifespan is they decide to go out on the town and live it up. Little do they know, Bill (Stephen Moyer) and Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) are staking them out.

fairy daughters

Jessica feels especially protective towards the Bellefleur girls since they are the same age she was when turned into a vampire. The girls try to buy beer but don’t have ID’s. Jessica saves the day by glamouring the cashier. She invites the girls over to her house to “party.”

true-blood-6.04-at-last-the-girls

Bill straps a special device onto one of the girls that takes some of her blood so the good doctor can synthesize it.

In the meantime, Andy has realized that his girls are missing, but has a problem providing a description because of their unpredictable growth spurts.

Bill and the good doctor are having trouble synthesizing the fairy blood because it decomposes once it is out of the fairy body. The girls are getting restless and they want to leave. Jessica tries to stop them, but in all the commotion she snaps and can’t help herself. The fairy blood smells/tastes so good to her and she couldn’t resist feeding on the girls.

hungry-jessica

After Andy talks to Jason he realizes that Bill knew his girls were fairies and that he’s the one that took the girls.

What did you think about this week’s episode? Do you think the girls are still alive? What will the Governor do to Willa and Pam? What will happen with Sookie and Warlow?

If you missed this week’s episode, you can still watch it online here.

True Blood “You’re No Good” Recap

Who’s ready for some True Blood? Episode three starts to explore the various storylines of Season 6.

Eric, Pam & Tara

At the end of last week’s episode, Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) paid a visit to the governor’s daughter Willa (Amelia Rose Blaire). His intent is to get revenge on the governor, but before he can kill Willa, the SWAT team finds him and they have to relocate.

willa-eric-1

Eric takes her to Fangtasia and tells Pam (Kristin Bauer Van Straten) and Tara (Rutina Wesley) to pack up their stuff because the Governor’s men won’t be far behind. We learn that Willa is against the experiments that her father is doing on the vampires. She tells Eric that her father has built a camp to study the vampires.

Willa wears an ivory Jonquil robe ($96) and nightgown ($120):

We see Steve Newlin (Michael McMillian) getting strongarmed into the vampire camp to be tortured and experimented on.

True-Blood-Season-6-Video

Pam and Tara are against Eric kidnapping Willa. He argues that she is their leverage and he wants to keep her alive. They go to Ginger’s (Tara Buck) house to hideout during the day.

Eric and Willa sleep in Ginger’s coffin and Willa tells him that her mother had an affair with a vampire and moved to Hollywood, which explains her father’s crusade.

Back at the vampire camp, Sarah (Anna Camp) visits Steve and gives him a piece of her mind. She is now in the position to get revenge and she takes full advantage of it. She has carried on their vision from the Fellowship of the Sun. The interrogators want to learn everything Steve knows about Eric Northman. Sarah wears a Black Halo Jacket Dress ($375) and the Tiffany Keys Crown Pendant ($1950):

She accessorizes the dress with a Kate Spade Bow Leather Belt ($68):

The governor finally tracks down Eric’s phone number and gives him a call. Ginger stupidly answers the phone so the governor can start tracking his location. Eric tells the governor that he will kill Willa because of the actions he has taken against vampires. Eric tries to bargain, but before he can seal the deal Tara escapes with the Willa.

Bill & Jessica

Bill (Stephen Moyer) explains his vision to Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) and tells her that she dies in his vision. After his vision, Bill is convinced that the sunlight won’t hurt him anymore. Jessica desperately convinces him to come inside but he is firm in his belief. Unfortunately, he is wrong and catches on fire at first light. So much for that theory…

True.6.3

Bill assigns Jessica to help him get the man responsible for synthesizing True Blood, a professor at the local university. He tells her to dress sexy as the professor has a thing for young women. She wears the Elbow Patch Varsity Cardigan from Forever 21 ($22.80), the Pleated Mini Skirt in Olive Plaid from Tripp NYC ($23.95) and Gipsy Mock Zigzag-Garter Tight from Urban Outfitters ($14):

Jessica flirts with the professor and asks him for some private tutoring as a guise to kidnap him.

Bill visits Sookie and asks for her help in making sure that his vision doesn’t come true. She doesn’t invite him in, but it doesn’t matter because he doesn’t need an invitation anymore. He wants her blood and is going to use the professor to synthesize it. She refuses his offer and he tells her that she is dead to him.

TB_603_001-660x330

On his way home from Sookie’s house Bill runs into Andy Bellfleur. He learns that Andy has children know and can smell the fairy scent.

Sookie & Jason

Jason (Ryan Kwanten) and the fairy grandfather are still protecting Sookie (Anna Paquin) against Warlow. The fairy grandfather takes off to the fairy safe haven and discovers it ransacked by a very powerful vampire.

Jason isn’t looking so good and Sookie insists that he gets some rest. He admits that he has been hallucinating for the past few days and that their parents had been encouraging him to kill vampires. It is a nice scene between them as she explains to him that their parents had their faults, just like everyone else does.

She wears the Slub Knit Raglan Sweater from Forever 21 ($17.80):

Fairy grandfather runs into Ben (Rob Kazinsky) as he is looking for the fairy haven. He recruits Ben to help him hunt down Warlow and return to Sookie’s house. Ben tries to make nice with Sookie, but she really isn’t in the mood after Bill’s visit. She starts to warm up to him and wonders why she can feel him listening to her thoughts, but she can’t feel other fairies.

Jason has had one too many concussions and ends up collapsing.

Andy

Holly (Lauren Bowles) visits Andy (Chris Bauer) at the police station and she is surprised by how much his daughters have grown. She is being harassed by vampires, so Andy takes her to the range to teach her how to shoot. There is still some chemistry between them, but she is still hurt that he cheated on her.

true-blood-season-6-andy-holly

Alcide

After Alcide (Joe Manganiello) and the pack steal Emma, they are visited by the police who are looking for Emma. They search the property but Rikki (Kelly Overton) gets her to shift at the last minute. Rikki doesn’t agree with Alcide taking Emma and there is definitely dissension in the ranks.

Sam

Sam (Sam Trammell) wakes up and realizes that the werewolves stole Emma (Chloe Noelle) back to their camp.

Sam’s new Vampire Unity Society friends track down the werewolves’ camp to try to recruit them for the cause. They secretly try to record them which angers the wolves. Rikki loses her cool and changes in front of them. The rest of the pack ends up massacring the group. During the chaos Sam sneaks in and rescues Emma.

What did you think about this week’s episode of True Blood? Can you believe how Bill treated Sookie?! Do you think Jason will be okay? What do you think Bill will do to Andy’s girls?

True Blood “The Sun” Recap

I love that True Blood always leaves us hanging at the end of each episode. That is why you can never stop watching it.

The plot lines for this season are already starting to develop. At the beginning of this episode, we see what looks like Warlow breaking through from some other dimension while Sookie (Anna Paquin) is sleeping.

Jason

We find out that Jason (Ryan Kwanten) wasn’t with Warlow at all, but with his fairy grandfather. The fairy grandfather seems to have a lot more information about Warlow and hopefully will help prepare Jason to kill him.

Jason takes his fairy grandfather home to show him the portal where Warlow first appeared from. The fairy grandfather jumps through the portal for further investigation and discovers that Warlow has already broken through.

Jason introduces Sookie to their fairy grandfather. Sookie makes them dinner and he lets them know that Warlow is here. He tells Sookie that their family is from a royal bloodline, which means that Sookie is a fairy princess. Warlow massacred the fairy grandfather’s village and killed off his entire family. Claudine blasted him to a dark realm where he had been for a hundred years, but now he is free and out to get the family.

Vampires (Pam, Tara, Eric & Nora)

We last left Fangtasia with the SWAT team shooting Tara (Rutina Wesley) with some sort of silver bullet that emits UV light. Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) saves the day and pulls it out of her. This prompts Eric to wonder how they got this sort of technology.

Tara is still wearing her two tone leather jacket (Q40 Viper Jacket, $616). The jacket is sold out, but there is one available on eBay.

Nora (Lucy Griffiths) is still trying to decipher the text about Lillith to figure out what Bill is. There is still a lot of distrust from Pam and she is very angry with Eric.

In the meantime, Eric decides to pay the governor a visit to learn more about his master plan.

The governor’s daughter Willa (Amelia Rose Blaire) wears the Penrose Dress from Anthropologie. Unfortunately, this is also sold out, but I found a similar tea dress at Nordstrom for $92.

Anthropologie Penrose Dress

Eric has taken on the persona of a reporter to get in to meet with the governor. Eric tries to glamour the governor, but we find out that he has created special contact lenses that are impervious to glamouring.

The governor tries to take Eric to “camp” but he flies off before they can get him. He pays Willa a visit in her bedroom right after she has taken her special contact lenses out.

At the end of the episode we see Tara wearing a Rag & Bone jacket ($346.50), there is also a similar version at Nordstrom ($575):

Rag & Bone Jean Jacket

Jessica & Bill

Bill (Stephen Moyer) is having some crazy visions and still isn’t sure what his new powers mean. He communes with Lillith (Jessica Clark) and she tells him that events have been set in motion. She tells him that a tyrant is rising and that Bill must complete her work. She explains that God created her and then Adam and Eve, that she is not a god and neither is Bill. She tells Bill that he has to save all of the vampires and that he will know what to do.

Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) wears a Honeydew Lace Sleep Tee ($45). It is sold out in blue, but you can still get it in grey, black or pink.

Honeydew Lace Sleep Tee

Jessica decides to get Bill someone to eat in hopes of snapping him out of his comatose state. He ends up killing the woman from Human Edibles and leaves Jessica to clean up the mess.

Bill finally comes out of the coma and sees a news report of a vampire being dragged by a truck. They realize that he had a vision of this before it happened. Bill then gets a vision of all of the vampires being burned together in a white room.

Sookie

Arlene (Carrie Preston) wakes up Sookie to remind her that she still is a waitress and has a shift at Merlotte’s.

On her way to work she runs across someone who needs help and she tries to ignore it, but can’t. It turns out that the victim is also a half-fairy like Sookie.

Sookie wears the Taylor Short Boots by FRYE in cognac ($348). They are still available in dark brown, black and smoke.

FRYE Taylor Short Boots

She also wears a Purple Denim Jacket by J Brand which is sold out. I found a similar colored Denim & Co. jacket at QVC for $44.50:

As she takes care of her guest, she wears a floral lace zip up hoodie from Aeropostale, which is sold out, but there are still a few left on eBay.

Sookie's lace hoodie

Sookie walks him to the fairy haven so he can recover. He tries to ask her out, but it doesn’t go very well and they part ways.

Sookie learns that she has the power to protect herself with one giant fairy blast. Once she uses it she won’t be a fairy anymore, but she can at least take out her attacker.

Arlene & Terry

Patrick’s wife comes to visit Terry (Todd Lowe), to try to find out what happened to Patrick. Arlene covers this up and tells her that Patrick ran off with another woman.

Sam

Sam (Sam Trammell) is visited by Nicole from the US Vampire Unity Society and she wants him to lead the charge and comes out as a shifter and reveal all of the other supernatural beings.

Sam is hiding Emma (Chloe Noelle) with Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis) back at his house. The wolfpack arrives to take Emma back with them to their pack. Alcide (Joe Magniello) tells Sam that Emma is coming with them and doesn’t give him a choice. Things get ugly and the wolfpack turns on Sam and Lafayette, taking Emma with them.

Andy

Andy (Chris Bauer) is still dealing with the aftermath of his fairy babies, who are growing at a rapid rate.

What did you think about Episode 2? I’m not sure I like the path that Alcide is going down, he is getting really dark. What will Eric do to the governor’s daughter? Will Bill be able to save his friends? Does Sookie have a new love interest?

If you missed this week’s episode, you can still watch it online here.

True Blood “Who Are You, Really?” Recap

We left off with Bill (Stephen Moyer) drinking all of Lillith’s blood, dying, then getting resurrected as Lillith. This is where we begin the Season 6 premiere with Sookie (Anna Paquin) and Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) trying to escape from Bill/Lillith (Billith?).

Sam (Sam Trammell), Luna (Janina Gavankar) and Emma (Chloe Noelle) have finally escaped from the vampires. Luna is in bad shape after her recent shape-shifting episode on national television and before she dies she asks Sam to take care of Emma. I was a little disappointed by this, poor Sam finally gets a girl and then she up and dies on him – he just can’t catch a break.  Sam brings Emma back to Merlotte’s and they run into Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis). He is one of my favorite characters, who wouldn’t want to spend time with Lafayette?

RIP Luna

RIP Luna

We have a few different storylines going on in this episode and I’m not sure how everything will end up coming together:

Vampires and Sookie

Everyone is able to escape from the Authority’s lair, but not before they see Billith coming out of the burning building all bloody and naked. He appears to fly off into thin air.

Eric and Pam (Kristin Bauer van Straten) are also having a relationship crisis. Eric never told Pam that Nora (Lucy Griffiths) was his sister. He tells her to get over it and she doesn’t take it well. Nora and Eric have no idea what Bill is and they think the best option is to kill him which upsets Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll). Sookie lets her know that she will never be alone.

Who_Are_You_Really_Main

Tara (Rutina Wesley) and Pam have a weird bonding session on the beach and it looks like they have sex, which is confirmed later in the episode. It is odd to see Pam so vulnerable. Who would have thought that Tara and Pam would ever get together, I guess that confirms how strong the sire bond is.

Nora wants to question Jason (Ryan Kwanten) about Warlow, but she has to glamour him for the information. This is pretty much his last straw and he freaks out. He points a gun at Nora and we learn that Warlow was Lillith’s progeny, one of the very first vampires. Sookie defends Nora and Jason disowns her and leaves.

Who_Are_You,_Really_Gallery3

Billith summons Jessica and her heart is almost ripped out of her chest. Sookie decides to take her to Bill in order to save her life. Tara tries to come along, but Eric won’t let her. He orders Pam and Tara back to Fangtasia and he leaves with Nora.

Jessica and Sookie arrive at Bill’s house and aren’t sure what they are going to find. Bill seems somewhat himself again, but Sookie stakes him. I can’t believe she did that!! It’s okay, because Bill seems to be invincible. Bill says that he is still himself, but something more. Sookie believes that Bill is really gone, she tries to convince him to leave Bon Temps, but Jessica defends him and kicks Sookie out.

136

Tara and Pam get back to Fangtasia and have it out about Eric. Tara tries to convince Pam to give their relationship a chance and to forget Eric. A SWAT team comes to close Fangtasia and Tara threatens them. The SWAT team ends up shooting her with something that actually takes a vampire down.

Eric walks Sookie home and says that he didn’t expect her to stake Bill. She says that Bill’s not the only one who’s changed. Eric says that she will always be that girl in the white dress (so romantic!). Eric finally deeds the house back to her so she can be safe from other vampires. Sookie rescinds his invitation so she can go back to having a normal life. Nora is waiting outside and confronts him, saying that she knows he loves Sookie. Eric orders her to stay away from Sookie. This part is so bittersweet, in a different reality Eric and Sookie would be together.

thumb_8027-1371488467

Bill puts Jessica to bed and they resume their father/daughter relationship. Bill says that he needs Jessica to keep him in check with all of this new power. He doesn’t know what he is or what kinds of new powers he has. Bill starts seeing and hearing things, this turns out to be Lillith and a few of her friends who take over his body.

Louisiana Governor

The Louisiana Governor makes a declaration that vampires must have a curfew and that all vampire-run businesses will be closed. He then has a late night meeting with the True Blood representative, Miss Suzuki. He wants to bail out True Blood and offers them a new factory to get things back on track. His goal is to keep the peace by making True Blood available again and to line his pockets by getting a cut of the profits.

gov-burrell-season-6
Alcide and the Wolfpack

Flash to the wolf pack and we left off with Alcide (Joe Manganiello) killing the packmaster which means that he has become the new packmaster. Apparently, it comes with a lot of perks and sexual favors from the other members of the pack. Alcide starts cashing in on some of the packmaster perks, but Rikki (Kelly Overton) makes it known that she is his number one girl.

True-Blood-Season-6-Trailer-nekkid-Alcide

 Andy’s Fairy Babies

Back at the Bellefleur residence where Terry (Todd Lowe) and Arlene (Carrie Preston) are taking care of all of Andy’s (Chris Bauer) fairy babies. This was the comic relief portion of the show, Terry and Arlene teaching Andy how to change a diaper, ha! We also learn that Andy’s fairy babies have grown fast – they grow into children overnight.

True-Blood-Andy-baby

Jason

Jason is hitchhiking (he is a trouble magnet) and ends up hitching a ride with an older gentlemen, who he pretty much tells his life story to. For those of you watching True Blood for the first time, you have to remember that Jason is not the brightest bulb in the box. Poor Jason ends up hitchhiking with Warlow of all people.

What did you think of the premiere? Some things surprised me like Sookie staking Bill and Jessica choosing Bill over Sookie, but some things stay the same – poor Sam getting the short end of the stick and Jason getting himself in trouble again. Let me know your thoughts in the comment section.

If you missed the pilot you can still watch it online here.

For more information on Summer TV premieres check out my Summer TV Preview Extravaganza post.

Summer TV Preview Extravaganza

I love TV. Every fall I used to get a schedule together of all the new shows I was going to watch and what I could reasonably tape on my VCR. Many of the networks have changed this format so now I get Fall and Summer premieres. And I have a DVR which means even more shows to watch. It’s like Christmas!

Here are the shows that I plan to tune in for this summer. Some are returning and some are brand new:

FOX The Goodwin Games – premieres on May 20 at 8:30 p.m.

The show focuses on siblings who inherit a fortune from their father but only if they can play by his rules. It is the newest endeavor from the executive producers of How I Met Your Mother and stars Scott Foley who I have crushed on since Felicity. The pilot is currently screening on Hulu so you can check it out in advance. The reviews look promising so far.

ABC The Bachelorette – Season 9 premieres on May 27 at 9 p.m.

I am slightly obsessed with the Bachelor and Bachelorette so I can’t wait for a new season! Desiree Hartsock is this year’s bachelorette. You might remember her emotional exit during Sean Lowe’s season. If you want to know who Desiree picks and spoilers from the season make sure to read Reality Steve’s blog.

If you tune in on Monday night, Desiree will take live questions on Twitter from 8-10 p.m. @DesHartsock.

ABC Mistresses – Premieres June 3 at 10 p.m.

I don’t know too much about this one except that Alyssa Milano is in it and I heart her. I’m interested to see how make the characters likeable even though they’re mistresses. It should be a good soap to watch and I hope everyone will have fantastic clothes!

One of my favorite blogs, Possessionista, has already posted a fashion preview here.

USA Graceland – Premieres June 6 at 10 p.m.

Graceland follows a group of undercover FBI agents as live together in a beachfront house. It’s from the creator of White Collar, Jeff Eastin, which is another great show. I’m mostly just watching this one for the eye candy…Daniel Sunjata…yum!

TNT Falling Skies – Season 3 premieres June 9 at 10 p.m.

My husband and I have watched Falling Skies together since it premiered. It’s an action-packed sci-fi action drama starring Noah Wyle. We last left the 2nd Mass with Tom taking on the role of U.S. President and Anne finding out she was pregnant.

USA Necessary Roughness – Season 3 premieres June 12 at 10 p.m.

This show has really started to heat up! We last left Dr. Dani revealing all of her feelings to Matt, but it looks like Matt’s new girlfriend is pregnant. Rex came out of the closet and Nico might be gone for good. John Stamos is joining the cast so it could mean a third love interest for Dani!

HBO True Blood – Season 6 premieres June 16 at 9 p.m.

True Blood is back! Last season left off with Bill becoming possessed by Lilith, the first vampire, and ended in a cliffhanger. Will Bill kill Sookie and Eric? Who will Sookie end up with? Is Bill gone forever?

Lifetime Devious Maids – Premieres June 23 at 10 p.m.

Created by Marc Cherry and produced by Eva Longoria this show is gunning to be the next Desperate Housewives. The show follows five maids for the rich and famous who use their position to achieve their own dreams. The preview teases lots of different plot twists and if it’s anything like the first season of Desperate Housewives we should be in for a good show.

CBS Under the Dome – Premieres June 24 at 10 p.m.

From auther Stephen King, Under the Dome should be a great sci-fi survival show, after watching the preview it sort of reminds me of Lost. I anticipate lots of fun twists and turns along the way. I also like Rachelle LeFevre and thought she was great in Twilight and Off the Map. I think this will be a show that both my husband and I can watch together.

USA Covert Affairs – Season 4 premieres July 16 at 9 p.m.

Season three ended with some big cliffhangers – Auggie and Annie finally kissed and Annie was presented with a mysterious file from Henry Wilcox. I really liked last season’s arc with Lena and Simon, hopefully we will see Annie get challenged again this year. I think Auggie is great but I would really like to see Annie end up with Eyal because their chemistry is hot!

USA Suits – Season 3 premieres July 16 at 10 p.m.

At the end of season two, Mike finally revealed to Rachel that he never went to Harvard. This didn’t seem to bother her because they hooked up in a very steamy sex scene. Harvey and Jessica are back in control of the firm, but moving forward with the merger. My husband and I love this show and we have a little crush on Gabriel Macht who plays Harvey. It will be interesting to see if he ever gets together with his secretary, Donna. One of my favorite parts of this show are the clothes. The women are impeccably dressed every week and I would kill for their wardrobe.

What shows will you be watching this summer? What are you most looking forward to? Let me know if there are other shows you think I should check out.
