Fall 2018 Favorites

I’m really not ready for fall this year, I was just starting to get into the swing of summer and really enjoy it and BOOM fall. One of my mottos is Fake it Till You Make it which applies here so I will just start talking about fall and getting all my fall items and then the excitement will follow. I already have a few easy favorites to share with you on my annual list.

Fergalicious Rattle Peep Toe Bootie ($44.99)

I had a similar pair on my year last year but never ended up getting them. I bit the bullet and bought these and they are SO cute! I have a really wide width and have a hard time finding shoes to fit when they encase your whole foot, but these work really well. They are a great transition from sandals and wedges into fall.

CND Dreamcatcher ($10.50)

I’m loving this new color from the CND Wild Earth Collection. It’s a fun purpley pink color.

Twist Back Sweater ($54.99)

I love the sexy twist detail on this sweater for fall. It’s like the mullet of sweaters – business in the front and party in the back.

Pumpkin Coconut Candle ($24.50)

This is a Bath & Body Works online exclusive, but talk about a great transition from summer to fall! the fragrance includes Spiced Pumpkin, Toasted Coconut, Creamy Vanilla, and Sea Salted Caramel.

The Jean Jacket in Pinter Wash ($118)

I’m not sure how I don’t already have a jean jacket, but ever since I saw this one on Meghan Markle, I had to have it. It’s a great way to take those summer dress and tanks into fall.

Thea Lace Chandeliers ($49)

These caught my eye the first time I saw them, so elegant. They also have a matching cuff.

Calvin Klein Bell-Sleeve Sheath Dress ($100.50)

I came across this while running through the mall the other day and WOW! I tried it on and it is now on my fall wish list. The color is fantastic. Lately, I’ve been having a love affair with Calvin Klein dresses, they are so stylish.

Exuberate Slingback Pumps ($69.99)

Another great shoe for transitions, I am loving the detail on this slingback!

Pumpkin 24K Gold Sheet Mask ($8)

Pumpkin and gold in one mask? Where do I sign up?

Charlie Carryall 28 In Signature Rose Print ($295)

This is so me! I love anything with a feminine detail and these flowers just make the bag!

Addy Versatile Poncho ($89)

Who knew Stella and Dot had clothing? I am living for this poncho that you can also turn into a cardigan! When I saw that I couldn’t believe it – two pieces in one has my vote!

Lily Knit Back Midi Coat ($125)

I am loving the idea of a camel coat for fall and I like the oversized look of this one. This is one piece I don’t already have and think it could be really versatile.

Sexual Chocolate

This really is the perfect fall wine.

Boone Cocktail Ring ($75)

I am obsessed with this Kendra Scott ring! I have tried it on twice and can’t wait to get it!

Drink Up Witches Stemless Wine Glass ($1.99)

I’m already getting into the Halloween spirit and thought it would be fun to enjoy my wine in one of these cute glasses.

Expert in Your Zeal A-Line Dress in Plaid ($79)

I love wearing dresses and hate wearing pants, so I love fall dresses that you can add a pair of tights or leggings too. This would look really cute with my new booties too!

What’s on your list for fall?

Friday Favorites: Breast Cancer Awareness

I know sometimes that October can be a little crazy with all of the Breast Cancer Awareness, but I am one person that doesn’t mind. My mom is a breast cancer survivor and she is my inspiration. She is the strongest person I know and I hope that I can be half as strong as she is if I ever have to face the disease. I thought I would share some of my favorite products supporting Breast Cancer Awareness this month and make it my personal goal this month to support research this month. I am going to go a little over five this week, but I think it will be worth it:

1. Bobbi Brown Pretty Pink Ribbon Lip Gloss Collection ($60)

This great set includes four pink glosses including Pretty Pink Sheer, Pink Tulle High Shimmer, Bright Lilac and Soiree Pink Shimmer. Bobbi Brown will donate $12 of every sale to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

2. Tory Burch York Small Buckle Tote ($245) and Tory Burch Kerrington Zip Continental Wallet ($185)

Tory Burch is donating 20% of these purchases to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation up to $35,000. I LOVE the wallet so much!

 3. La Mer Breast Cancer Awareness Hand Treatment ($45)

This is the most luxurious stuff out there and would make a wonderful gift. La Mer is donating a portion of each purchase to the Breast Cancer Research Fund.

4. Stella & Dot Strength Bracelet ($39)

100% of the proceeds from this adorable elephant bracelet benefits the Noreen Fraser Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds for women’s cancer research and creating awareness of the importance of early detection.

5. Smashbox Limited Edition Breast Cancer Research Be Legendary Lip Gloss ($20) and BCA Photo Finish Foundation Primer ($36)

$5 from the primer will be donated to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, it is unclear how much of the proceeds of the lip gloss are donated.

6. Gaiam Forever Pink Yoga Mat ($21.98)

I’ve previously mentioned my 100 Day Yoga Challenge and it would be fun to get this mat to use for October. $1 from every mat purchase is donated to breast cancer research.

7. Donna Karan Cashmere Mist Breast Cancer Awareness Eau de Parfum Rollerball Duo ($45)

I’ve talked about how the Donna Karan Cashmere Mist Deodorant is one of my favorites and it is awesome that Donna Karan will donate 20% of the proceeds of this sale to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

9. Eminence Sweet Red Rose Whip Moisturizer

10. 2013 ONEHOPE California Chardonnay ($18.99)

Now you can have your wine and donate too! Half of the proceeds of the One Hope Chardonnay go to fight breast cancer.

11. Clinique Pink with a Purpose Long Last Lipstick ($16)

$3.00 from this purchase will be donated to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

12. Nine West Tatiana ($79)

I think I may have saved the best for last – at least we are changing up the color! Nine West partnered with Fashion Targets Breast Cancer to create a limited edition shoe, the Tatiana. With or without this particular shoe, Nine West will donate $10 to FTBC for every blue “shoefie” you post to Instagram or Twitter using the hashtag #9WFTBC. I think the only blue shoes I have are my wedding shoes, so I will have to kick it off with that.

5 on Friday: Road Trip Edition

It’s time for another edition of Five on Friday with A Liz AdventuresThe Good Life BlogHello Happiness and Carolina Charm.

I was challenged by Relay Rides to participate in their Road Trip Essentials campaign and come up with my must have road trip items. Relay Rides is a really cool company. It’s a peer-to-peer  car rental service where you can rent other people’s cars instead of doing a car rental or you can make extra money on the side by renting out your car when you aren’t using it. What a great way to save or make some extra cash!

This could not have come at a better time because we are heading out to Chicago this weekend and we have a few additional road trips this summer. Here are some of my favorite road trip essentials:

polyvore travel

1. Smartfood White Cheddar Popcorn

This is my absolute favorite snack in the world. I could eat this all day and all night. I usually try to save it for a road trip, but it is delicious!

2. Starbucks Refreshers

So John and I are terrible at road trips. We both get in the car and instantly want to fall asleep. I hope that bodes well for our future children that they will pass out in the car. Caffeine is extremely important for both of us when we are taking a road trip and my favorite is Starbucks’ refreshers. I don’t drink coffee or tea and these are the perfect beverage for me!

3. Donna Karan Cashmere Mist

When you go on a road trip you spend a lot of time in the car. I have found that Donna Karan’s Cashmere Mist Deodarant is the best item to have on hand in these situations. It will keep you fresh and smelling amazing for the rest of your trip.

4. Coach Nylon Signature Duffle Weekender Bag Tote

I got a Coach Duffle Bag in black at the Coach Outlet a few years back and I LOVE it. It is durable and perfect for road trips. I was trying to find a similar one online and stumbled across one in fuschia! I may have to invest in this one too!

5. RocketFish Lighted Cable

During a road trip I can’t put my iPhone down, whether it’s listening to my podcasts, playing my Oregon Trail game or checking Facebook, I need my phone to last for the whole trip. I just bought this new charger cable for myself and it lights up and is awesome!

Life on Crutches: Step One Get a Stylish Backpack

We are nearing the end of my journey with crutches and a broken foot. I got great news at the doctor last week and was able to stop using my crutches and put weight on my foot again. I still have to wear the walking boot, but it has made such a difference being able to get around on my own! I can’t wait until I can actually wear a normal shoe.

Since my journey is coming to an end, I thought I would impart some advice to the next person that might need to use crutches. Aside from getting flats (see my previous post here) and getting crutch pads (see my previous post here) you need to get a stylish backpack. When you try to go to work, out with friends, out to eat, you need a way to carry your laptop or phone and other personal belongings. I tried to carry my purse around, but it really threw off my balance with the crutches, so my husband let me borrow his backpack to carry my stuff around. Let me tell you it was a lifesaver! There is no way I could have done it without that backpack.

If I wouldn’t have spent all of my money on flats, the next thing I would have purchased is a stylish backpack…and who knows, I still might need one to lug my laptop around from home, to work, to school. Here are my top stylish backpack choices for life on crutches:

Adidas Climacool 2 Backpack ($46)

I carried my husband’s Adidas backpack around and really loved it, but I would need to get a girlier version. This would be great for traveling or hiking.

Q45049_01

Prada Backpack ($795)

I have wanted a Prada Backpack ever since Larisa Oleynik wore hers in 10 Things I Hate About You. It is stylish and gorgeous! It also comes in black, blue and red.

a149f81de7c81582584700cb326bd68cMarc Jacobs Preppy Nylon Backpack ($248)

I love the color of this backpack!

29e40a196b42492adbb8ef46c86e8c85

Coach Signature Backpack ($278)

I love all things Coach and this is just sleek and sophisticated.

15755967fb95bd1f12944064b5411b2d

Michael Kors Jetset Backpack ($328)

I can’t decide which color I like best, maybe white for summer.

Let me know if you have any other suggestions for the list.

July Pinspired

I had fun putting together last month’s June Pinspired looks with Shay at MixandMatchMama, Sheaffer at Pinterest Told Me To and Mel at The Larson Lingo so I thought I would try my hand at a July Pinspired look. For those of you wondering I am still trying to complete my June look, but can’t find colored pants that look good on me. I have all of the other items, but am still on the hunt for the pants.

pinspired2 copy

I am attending an outdoor wedding at a winery later this month and need to put a look together that is cute but functional. It will most likely be hot and I probably won’t want to wear heels. I really want to try a hi-low dress with wedges and I found a ton of inspiration on Pinterest:

Hi-Low Dresses

Hi-Low Dresses

I liked this Suzi Chin dress in Paradise Pink for $81.99 for a number of reasons. I have another Suzi Chin dress and I love the cut of it, I like that this dress has a v-neck instead of a strapless or blousy neckline and I think the waistline will be more flattering on me:

Suzi Chin Hi Low Dress

The key to this look will be the accessories, they will really dress it up.

I am going to wear my Vera Wang Lavender Penny Wedges with this since I don’t want to wear heels that will sink into the ground. They are sold out, but you can still find a number of them in the nude color on eBay:

I plan to carry my Patent Leather Coach Ashley Wristlet:

For jewelry, I want a statement necklace, so I decided to go with this Stella & Dot Bloom Necklace ($198) and to accessorize with earrings and a few bracelets that I already have:

n366g_dot_bloom_1

I am excited about this outfit, because I already have most of the pieces and it will cost me $279.99 to finish the look (I just need to buy the dress and necklace). I could wear the necklace with a number of other outfits and it would be a good investment.

I think this is the perfect outfit for my upcoming summer wedding. Let me know if you have any other ideas on how I could dress this look up.

UPDATE So we went to the wedding and it was fantastic! I loved seeing my friends get married and it was great to hang with all of my besties at once. Here is a picture of us (isn’t the bride breathtaking?). I loved this look, the dress fit great and I love, love, love the necklace and can’t wait to wear it again.
