The Good Wife “Oppo Research” Recap

This episode begins with Alicia (Julianna Marguilles) getting ready for guests, specifically Eli (Alan Cumming) and her new campaign manager, Johnny Elfman (Steven Pasquale). They are sitting down to talk about oppo research, specifically all of the dirty little secrets in Alicia’s closet. She wore a Jason Wu Tie Bar Blouse ($995). This Ann Taylor Legacy Blouse ($119) is similar:

jason wu

These scenes are hilarious, especially with Grace’s (Mackenzie Vega) choir group in the background. Diane (Christine Baranski) and Cary (Matt Czuchry) call her with more Lemond Bishop drama. Diane’s dress in this scene is incredible. It is a white dress with a lace applique. I found this Ali Ro White And Black Stretch Cotton Lace Detail Dress ($168.99) to recreate her look:

ali ro

Next, Eli reveals that Zack got an abortion with his girlfriend last year, which was a horrible way to tell her. They also reveal pretty awful things about her mother and brother. There were a lot of bombs dropped in this episode! Alicia takes it all in stride, but first she has to fire Lemond Bishop (Mike Colter) as a client. He doesn’t take it very well. Alicia wears an Escada Checkerboard Jacquard Jacket ($1295). This Isaac Mizrahi Live! Jacquard Floral Knit Blazer ($62.48) is similar:

escada2

In order to run for State’s Attorney, a few things need to be fixed. First, Peter (Chris Noth) has to fire his sexy young intern, second, Alicia has to confront her family members and in the case of her mother blackmail a woman and thirdly, dispute her new alcohol problem. Never a dull moment…

At the end of the episode, we find out that Lemond Bishop started a PAC for Alicia and is using his drug money to fund it…I don’t see that being a problem, do you? Note the sarcasm…It should be an interesting few weeks waiting to see how this will end.

The Good Wife “Dear God” Recap

The scenes with Cary’s (Matt Czuchry) pre-trial services officer were hilarious. It is sort of funny to see all the lawyers on the other side of the table. One of the conditions of his bond was to inform all of his clients of the current situation. A few clients left, but one stayed. Alicia (Julianna Marguilles) and their new associate, Dean (Taye Diggs) will argue in court on Cary’s behalf.

Alicia wore a Wool Stretch Tweed Jacket by Akris ($3,590) on the first day of court. This Ann Taylor Tweed One Button Jacket ($144.99) is similar:

akris

Alicia and Cary’s client doesn’t like the bickering and fighting in court, so he decides to take his case to a Christian mediation. Who knew there was such a thing? But first Alicia has to take a spin with Cary’s pre-trial services officer. She is oddly hostile towards Alicia, so I’m not sure what was going on there. Alicia wore the Essa Tweed Zip Jacket by Lafayette 148 (sold out). This Kasper Sparkle Tweed Jacket ($47.60) is a great match:

lafayette 148

The Matthew Process (aka Christian mediation) is not what the team expected and Alicia has to brainstorm with Grace (MacKenzie Vega) to figure out her next move. At home Alicia lounges in a Vince Thermal Zip Front Hoodie ($395). This Paperwhite Open Knit Cardigan Sweater ($39.95) is similar:

vince

In Cary’s case, the State’s Attorney’s confidential informant was killed and the ASA reveals that Kalinda (Archie Panjabi) may have played a role in letting Lemond Bishop know who he was. Diane (Christine Baranski) wore a blue dress and one of her signature chain link necklaces. To get her look I found this Ann Taylor Side Zip Long Sleeve Dress ($129.99) and this Kenneth Jay Lane Oversize Silver Curb Chain Necklace ($155):

kenneth jay lane

As Alicia rides the elevator with Dean, you get a peak at the top of her Muska Lizard Large Vanna Bag by Muska Milano ($450). This Nine West Modern Proportions Tote Large Shoulder Handbag ($30.58) is similar:

nine west

Alicia’s “campaign” is getting out of control and she isn’t even running…until she meets Gloria Steinem at an event for Peter. That was such an amazing moment and you can see that is the moment where she seriously starts to consider it. She looks stunning in an Akris Shimmery Jacquard Short Jacket and Pleat-Detail Dress ($6,580). That is obviously out of my price range so I found this Jacquard Suit from Midnight Velvet ($119.95) that has the same shimmer to it:

akris shimmer suit

Diane is up next with the pre-trial services officer and wears an Armani Collection Tweed Blazer ($576) with her vintage dragonfly pin. To recreate the look I used this Women’s Fringe Textured Jacket ($129) from Land’s End. I had fun searching eBay for vintage dragonfly pins and I liked this one for $22.50 for Diane’s look, but there are a ton!

armani

In the end, Cary’s pre-trial services officer came through for him and he was able to stay out of jail on bail. What was interesting to see was how Alicia has been moving the business forward without him. We get the sense that he isn’t really on board with all of the changes.

Alicia’s final conversation with Castro (Michael Cerveris) was chilling. I think this is what really pushed her over the edge to run. This guy is a real piece of work. I love how Alicia is so calm in these situations. She lets her anger fuel her to success.

I cannot wait to see what happens next, this season is sure shaping up to be a good one!

The Good Wife “Trust Issues” Recap

The second episode jumps right in with Alicia (Julianna Marguilles) and Cary (Matt Czuchry) still arguing over Diane (Christine Baranski) joining their firm. Alicia has the upper hand since Cary is still in jail and things look murky as the bail money is in question.

Next, we are introduced to Dean (Taye Diggs) as a partner from New York who is setting up shop in Chicago. Diane also announces her “retirement” at the Lockhart Gardner staff meeting and convinces Dean to join her.

We also get a little nod to one of the flashbacks last year as Alicia faces Lorraine, a woman she interviewed with when she started looking for a job and wouldn’t hire her.

Kalinda (Archie Panjabi) has a hard time working with Bishop’s crew as she knows who was wearing the wire and if Bishop finds out, he will be killed. Kalinda wears the Anasta Jacket from The Row ($2,790). This Express Leather Double Peplum Moto Jacket ($128) is similar:

leather peplum

Peter (Chris Noth) refuses to sign a second mortgage with Alicia on her condo which she was going to use for Cary’s bail. He tells her that it isn’t a smart move. He does have a good point, but their relationship is further strained.

That doesn’t seem to matter as people are beating down the door to offer Alicia money for Cary’s bail because they think she is running for office. Robin (Jess Weixler) tries to convince her to take the money, but she refuses. Robin wears the most adorable Alice + Olivia Cloud Print Cardigan (sold out). I couldn’t find a similar cardigan, but I did find two other cloud items. The first is a  Vince Camuto Sleeveless Cloud-Print Shell ($99) and the second is a Forever 21 Cloud Print Cutout Cami ($12.80):

cloud

The back and forth between Alicia and Eli (Alan Cumming) is hilarious. He just can’t help himself when he sees the possibility of a winning campaign. I loved her Escada Bore Jacquard Scuba Jacket (Sold out). I found this similar Ivanka Trump Zip Front Jacket ($139) that has the same exposed zipper and definitely looks like it could be in her wardrobe:

ivanka trump

Alicia held a vote and the partners agreed to allow Diane and her team to join the firm. Watching Diane and Dean walk out of LGC gave me goosebumps. Who would have predicted this last year when we saw Alicia leave. So crazy! Diane’s Escada Leopard Jacquard Coat ($2795) was also stunning! This Piperlime Leopard Coat ($159) is similar:

escada

I think watching Cary and Alicia reunite was the best part of this episode. It was so touching, especially because they’ve never had that type of relationship.

I can’t wait to see what happens next and if Alicia, Diane and Kalinda will be able to keep him out of jail.

The Good Wife “The Line” Recap

The Season 6 premiere picks up right where we left off, with Eli (Alan Cumming) asking Alicia (Julianna Marguilles) to run for State’s Attorney. She is having no part of it and is more focused on her potential merger with Diane (Christine Baranski). Cary (Matt Czuchry) doesn’t want to participate in merger talks at all but Alicia convinces him to hear Diane out.

Unfortunately, before he can do anything, Cary gets arrested and we have no idea why!!

Alicia and Diane meet and wait for Cary, but he obviously doesn’t show up. Diane promises to bring her clients, but wants to bring Kalinda (Archie Panjabi) with her and she wants an equal vote.

At the meeting Diane wore the Etro Ponte Paisley-Bodice Dress (849.79 EU). I liked this Karen Kane Goldtone Sequin Front Dress ($138) as a similar look:

etro

As the episode continues, we find out that Cary was arrested for a drug charge, but we don’t know how or why just yet. Cary is so creative – he gets one of the Lockhart Gardner clients he bumps into in general population to tell Kalinda that he is in there. She tells Alicia and gets the ball rolling on his case.

Once Alicia gets there we find out that Cary is accused of a heroin offense – the felony sale of 900 grams! Bail is set in the millions turning this into a much bigger problem than Alicia and Cary could have anticipated. They figure out that this is tied to one of their clients, Mr. Bishop (Mike Colter). They say that Cary advised Bishop on how to sell drugs.

Diane breaks the news to David Lee (Zach Grenier) and Louis Canning (Michael J. Fox) that she will retire at the end of the month…aka move to Cary and Alicia’s firm.

Alicia gets replaced as Cary’s attorney because she also represents Lemond Bishop. She asks Diane to help represent Cary and sets Canning and Lee off on suspicion that Diane is going to their firm. Alicia wears the Jeisina Textured Stretch Cotton Striped Blazer by BOSS ($595). I found this similar Emporio Armani Blazer ($275):

hugo bossDiane gets involved, which means putting Kalinda on the case…good for her, Kalinda’s been working it the whole time. Sometimes I think that Diane is my favorite. She is always cool, calm and collected. She wears a St. John Collection Milano Knit Bateau Neck Long Sleeve Draped Dress (745.65 EU). This American Living Ruffled Faux-Wrap Dress ($69) is a great look for less:

red dress

Things get much more complicated, when Bishop brings 1.5 million to Alicia’s office for Cary’s bail. Then Kalinda finds out that there is a recording of Cary telling Bishops men how to avoid jail for their next drug shipment…he might be screwed. Diane has taken over as his lawyer now and I loved this floral blazer she wore. I found this Susan Graver 3/4 Sleeve Printed Floral Textured Jacket ($42.98) for a similar look:

floral blazer

So in the end, our former friend Finn Polmar (Matthew Goode) questioned the bail funds and Cary has to stay in lockup for at least another week. I can’t believe how awful that turned out for him!

Some of the funny moments were with Eli and his daughter, hilarious and cut some of the serious moments, so I thought that was great writing.

I can’t wait to see what happens next week! The first episode was crazy so far!!

Fall 2014 TV Preview

I could not be more excited for Fall TV this year! I am actually swapping in a new DVR this weekend and am going to get everything programmed in. Here is what I will be watching and I will note which ones I will be recapping. Let me know if there are any shows you would love to see me recap.

September 15

Dancing With the Stars (ABC)

So I ended up skipping last season’s DWTS because I didn’t have time to commit to watching 3-4 hours every week. I am 50/50 on watching this season. I love the show, but it is just soooooo long. There are going to be some good contestants this year like Alfonso Ribeiro (do you think he will do the Carlton?), Betsey Johnson (count on her doing the splits), Antonio Sabato, Jr. (this year’s eye candy), and Bethany Mota (YouTube sensation and probably my only hope of every being on this show, so I need to get more readers, lol).

abc_dancing_with_the_stars_cast_mt_140904_16x9_992September 21

Madam Secretary (CBS)

I love political dramas, but I love Tea Leoni even more, so this seems like a great combination. The show follows the life of a former CIA Analyst turned Secretary of State, Elizabeth McCord (Leoni) and looks like a winner. After watching the clip below, I know I will be hooked!

The Good Wife (CBS)

When we last left Alicia (Julianna Marguiles), she had just been asked to run for the State’s Attorney’s office. Pair that with potentially merging with Diane (Christine Baranski), we have a great new season shaping up. It also looks like Alicia may have a new love interest, but will she ever divorce Peter (Chris Noth)? I will be covering The Good Wife fashion again, you can see my previous Good Wife posts here.

September 22

Gotham (FOX)

Gotham is a new drama that is just what it sounds like, a Batman prequel. This follows Harvey Gordon as he moves up the ranks of Gotham PD and has an all-star cast including Jada Pinkett Smith, Ben McKenzie and Donal Logue among others. This looks like a great one to watch with the hubby!

Forever (ABC)

This show looked interesting and mostly caught my eye because it stars Ioan Gruffudd, who we last saw on Ringer. Gruffudd stars as Doctor Henry Morgan who is NYC’s medical examiner. Henry has a secret, he is immortal, alive for 200 years, but has no idea why.

Update: You can watch the pilot episode OnDemand. I liked it so far, looks like it could be a great series.

 September 23

Chicago Fire (NBC)

John and I are a little behind on this one, so I am just going to post the clip so I don’t ruin it before we get caught up.

Person of Interest (CBS)

This is another one that John and I haven’t caught up with yet. We stopped watching after Carter (Taraji P. Henson) died, so I am excited to get caught up and see where the show ended up.

September 25

Bones (FOX)

I have to admit, I was a little confused at the end of Season Nine, I wasn’t exactly sure what happened or how. Season 10 sees Booth (David Boreanaz) incarcerated for the murder of three FBI agents and Brennan (Emily Deschanel) trying to clear his name.

Grey’s Anatomy (ABC)

And then there were two…can you believe that only Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Alex (Justin Chambers) are the only original interns left? This season opens with Alex and Bailey (Chandra Wilson) fighting over Christina’s board seat, Derek (Patrick Dempsey) moving to Washington DC without Meredith and new doctors on the scene it should be interesting how they keep this show alive.

Scandal (ABC)

Last year’s season finale was jam-packed with surprises, from Fitz (Tony Goldwyn) and Mellie’s (Bellamy Young) son dying, Fitz discovering her secret and then winning a second term, the first family has gone through a lot. Harrison (Columbus Short) is dead, killed by Eli (Joe Morton) who now has everything he wants, including revenge on Fitz. Huck (Guillermo Diaz) came face-to-face with his family and Olivia (Kerry Washington) and Jake (Scott Foley) jetted off into the sunset, but not before sending David Rosen (Joshua Malina) a smoking gun for B613. So where on earth is Olivia Pope? I covered Scandal fashion last year and will again this year. To catch up on my previous posts, click here.

How to Get Away with Murder (ABC)

This is the new show from mastermind Shonda Rimes. This show follows Professor Annalise Keating (Viola Davis) as she teaches her law students how to help their clients get away with murder. From the preview it looks like they will have to put her advice to good use. This looks pretty good and the clothes look great to, so I may have to cover this one as well…

September 28

Revenge (ABC)

When we last left Emily (Emily Vancamp) her plan has finally succeeded. The Graysons are ruined…but not without a price. Aiden was poisoned by Victoria (Madeline Stowe). It also looks like David Clarke (James Tupper) is still alive! What will happen this season is anyone’s guess.

September 29

Castle (ABC)

When we last looked in on Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Beckett (Stana Katic) it was their wedding day…but Castle never made it to the altar. He was kidnapped by someone in the finale cliffhanger. Will these two ever get their happy ending?

October 2

The Vampire Diaries (CW)

Is Damon (Ian Somerholder) really gone?

Reign (CW)

Mary (Adelaide Kane) is officially the Queen of France, just in time to deal with the plague. I’m curious to see how this show will continue as history tells us that Francis (Toby Regbo) doesn’t live very long after their marriage.

October 3

Kendra on Top (WE)

I’ve loved watching Kendra for years, I thought her story of finding Hank and growing out of her party phase was touching. I feel terrible for everything she has had to go through recently and couldn’t watch this clip with out getting goosebumps. I am interested to see how she will react this season.

October 5

Homeland (Showtime)

Last season was heartbreaking as Brody was executed with a devastated Carrie (Claire Danes) watching pregnant with his unborn child. After killing off the main character, I’m not sure where the show goes from here.

October 6

The Originals (CW)

The season finale was surprise after surprise, with Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) giving up baby Hope to Rebekah (Claire Holt). There are lots of new faces this season and it will be interesting to see where it goes. This show most surprised me last year, I like it so much more than the Vampire Diaries.

October 12

The Affair (Showtime)

The only thing I know about this show is that Joshua Jackson is in it and that is enough for me. The preview looks pretty steamy…

October 24

Grimm (NBC)

In the season finale Rosalee (Bree Turner) and Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) got married, Nick (David Giuntoli) lost his powers and Adalind (Claire Coffee) is trying to get her baby back. I also forgot that Nick slept with Adalind while she was pretending to be Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch)! In this clip, the producers talk about what to expect in Season 4.

November 6

White Collar (USA)

I am so sad to see White Collar go! The show was cancelled, but USA is giving the writers six episodes to wrap everything up. When we left off, Neal (Matt Bomer) had been abducted by a mystery group and Elizabeth (Tiffani Thiessen) accepted a job in Washington, D.C. possibly leaving Peter (Tim DeKay) behind. I followed all of Elizabeth’s fashion last season and plan to so so again for the final episodes. You can read my previous recaps here.

whitecollar_aspot_finalseason_2490x1418_V2

Covert Affairs (USA)

We just finished the last season of Covert Affairs, but it was renewed for a sixth season and will follow White Collar on November 6. You can catch up with my recaps of the most recent season here.

The Good Wife “We, the Juries” Recap

This week’s episode of The Good Wife finds Will (Josh Charles) and Alicia (Julianna Marguilles) thrown together again on a new case, but this time they have to work together for the good of their clients. Alicia wears a grey skirt suit in the courtroom. I found a similar Emporio Armani blazer ($290):

Screen Shot 2014-01-26 at 8.29.57 PM

Cary (Matt Czuchry) and Diane (Christine Baranski) agree to co-chair on the case so Will and Alicia keep level heads. Diane wears a red asymmetric blazer. This Lafayette 148 Couture Cloth Stellan Jacket ($358.80) is similar:

Screen Shot 2014-01-26 at 8.42.23 PM

The double jury trial starts to get confusing as each jury is only allowed to hear certain parts of the trial. Alicia wears a black blazer with white print. This Calvin Klein Tweed Jacket ($87.99)  is similar:

Screen Shot 2014-01-26 at 9.07.34 PM

Diane wears a wine colored dress with a pearl necklace, similar to her outfit from The Next Month episode. The same Anne Klein Ribbed Sweater Dress ($72.52) would work for this one as well:

Screen Shot 2014-01-26 at 9.31.31 PM

In the meantime, Kalinda (Archie Panjabi) is trying to get back into Cary’s good graces, but I think that ship has sailed for her. Cary gets a drink spilled on him and goes to the bathroom. He leaves his phone on the bar and Kalinda sees a private text from Robyn about one of Lockhart Gardner’s clients jumping ship. It doesn’t take her long for her to talk to Will and get him to set up a meeting with the client. What she doesn’t realize is that Cary played her with false information that seriously offended the client. Who’s laughing now?!

After last week’s video reveal of the election fraud, Marilyn (Melissa George) has to question everyone on Peter’s (Chris Noth) team, including Alicia who acted as his lawyer. Once Alicia sees the video she is furious and marches down to Peter’s office to demand that he fixes this immediately for the Zach’s sake as he would have to testify in front of the Feds if it continues. Alicia wears a grey blazer with a lighter lapel. This Joie Neville B Two Tone Blazer ($126.40) is similar:

Screen Shot 2014-01-26 at 9.21.06 PM

I love the scene between Kalinda and Cary because she isn’t even mad at him, she just respects his cunning maneuver! She still wants to get a drink with him and he agrees to go with her…maybe they will still be friends after all.

Marilyn finally gets to investigate Will, but he can’t say anything because Peter is covered by attorney/client privilege. They speak alone in chambers and Will finally throws down with Peter about taking away Diane’s judgeship and then Peter throws back sleeping with Alicia in his face! They are at a standstill, but Peter frustrates Marilyn by not allowing him to testify for Marilyn.

Eli (Alan Cumming) and Marilyn are at a standstill – she can’t complete her investigation because Will won’t testify. This is really going to hurt Peter. Who knows what will happen next?!

The Good Wife “Goliath and David” Recap

Before we get started, a big congratulations is in order to The Good Wife and Josh Charles for winning People’s Choice Awards for best drama series and best actor in a drama series!

If you love the style on The Good Wife, costume designer Daniel Lawson is taking pre-orders for his new clothing line 35DL.

On to this week’s episode…We pick up where we left off at the Florrick, Agos & Associates Christmas party when Eli (Alan Cumming) finds out that Marilyn (Melissa George) is naming her baby Peter, after the father. Eli freaks out thinking that Peter (Chris Noth) is the father. Marilyn tells him that is crazy, but he can’t take that at face value.

During the party, Alicia (Julianna Marguilles) and Cary (Matt Czuchry) retain a new client – a band that is suing for copyright infringement. Matthew Lillard guest stars and is great in this role. The band ends up suing one of Burl Preston’s clients (guest star Murray Abraham) who is an old foe of Alicia’s. He heads to Lockhart Gardner, but finds Will (Josh Charles) instead who wants to get in on the action to piss off Alicia and to start expanding in LA.

Will and Diane (Christine Baranski) are butting heads on expanding Lockhart Garder. Will is making too many changes too quickly and Diane tries to slow him down by putting a two-month ban on soliciting new clients. She wears a red wrap coat and a black chain link necklace. To recreate this look try this Le Suit Jacket ($59.99) and NEXTE Cuban Link Necklace ($27.59):

Screen Shot 2014-01-09 at 7.11.38 PM

Will and Burl visit Alicia and Cary to negotiate. Alicia is genuinely stunned to see Will there. She tells him to get over it, her that is, but he just laughs it off. Alicia wears a Armani Collezioni Herringbone Blazer ($523.25). This Antonio Melani Kloey Jacket ($119.40) is similar:

Screen Shot 2014-01-10 at 6.12.59 PM

In the meantime, Eli decides to hire Kalinda (Archie Panjabi) to investigate Marilyn and find out who the father of her baby is.

In court, Will uses everything he knows about Alicia to throw her off of her game. Alicia wears a Smokey Plaid Cecille Jacket ($798) and Aviana Skirt ($298.80) by Lafayette 148. This Pendleton Cordelia Jacket ($207.99) is similar:

Screen Shot 2014-01-10 at 7.12.13 PM

Cary tells Alicia that Will is trying to get under her skin and convinces her not to let him get to her. She decides to leave and change into the suit she wore the first time they slept together in the Season 2 finale to remind him of that event. This definitely shows that they aren’t over each other. If that can still throw him off his game, he still has feelings for her. I can’t believe how she talked to Will, it definitely seems like the gloves are off in a big way! This Calvin Klein Khaki Skirt Suit ($144.96) is similar:

Screen Shot 2014-01-10 at 7.45.13 PM

Kalinda meets Marilyn at the doctor’s office trying to get more information out of here in casual conversation, but is interrupted by her new cop friend, courtesy of Damian. This pisses her off – don’t mess with Kalinda at work!

Back in court, Alicia and Cary lose the court ruling, but they aren’t ready to give up yet. They got back to court to get an extension to find additional evidence. Alicia wears a color block suit from Basler (Jacket, $521.25, Skirt $221.25). This black and white Tahari colorblock suit ($164.98) provides a similar look:

Screen Shot 2014-01-10 at 8.15.03 PM

Diane is dealing with a tricky situation of her own as Damian is trying to swing the firm’s vote in her favor on the expansion. She wears a great snow leopard blazer. This Calvin Klein Blazer ($97.99) is similar:

Screen Shot 2014-01-10 at 8.26.07 PM

Will and Diane eventually come to terms with the direction the firm is going and she agrees to let him move forward. Well that’s what it seems like in the moment, but we will see if she has something else up her sleeve.

Kalinda’s investigation of Marilyn doesn’t provide anything conclusive…if anything it only makes Eli’s suspicions stronger. A reporter calls Eli with a video of what he thinks is Marilyn and Peter, but it is really of the Florrick campaign rigging votes…you didn’t think that was forgotten did you? After it doesn’t matter anymore, Marilyn reveals that the father of her baby isn’t Peter Florrick, but another Peter.

Robin (Jess Weixler) ends up finding the missing link in the band’s song in order to get them back in the court game. Alicia is able to best Will at his own game and the band gets the money they deserve. I loved Matthew Lillard in this role, so much fun!

What do you think will happen to Peter and Alicia with this new damaging video? Just as she started her new firm, this would ruin everything she’s worked for.

Don’t forget that at the end of last season Will had a copy of this video too – he may not be so forgiving this time…

The Good Wife “The Decision Tree” Recap

This marked The Good Wife’s 100th episode and I love how they did a little homage to it with the speedometer in the opening scene.

We begin with a Kalinda (Archie Panjabi) car chase…only to find out that she is chasing Damian Boyle (Jason Mara) on behalf of Diane (Christine Baranski). It doesn’t sit well that he ends up at Florrick Agos on some unknown mission.

Turns out that he is on a mission from David Lee (Zach Grenier) to settle Alicia’s (Julianna Marguilles) exit package. In looking over the documents she finds an odd mention of an old client, Matthew Ashbaugh (John Noble). Alicia wears a Basler Jacket and Armani Skirt. This Anne Klein Tweed Fringe Jacket ($84.99) provides a similar look:

Screen Shot 2014-01-02 at 6.16.52 PM

We are taken back in time when Alicia was working with Mr. Ashbaugh. She wears a deep purple blazer. I found a similar Cashmere One Button Blazer ($189):

Screen Shot 2014-01-02 at 10.16.20 PM

It turns out the Mr. Ashbaugh left Alicia $12 million dollars in his will, but his wife is contesting the will. Alicia wears a sold-out Michael Kors Origami Collar Tweed Jacket. This Anne Klein Tweed Fashion Blazer ($70.79) has a similar unique collar:

Screen Shot 2014-01-03 at 1.06.05 AM

This is where things start to get interesting. Alicia takes us through some flashbacks as she is remembering specific details of the case. In the first flashback, she is wearing a bright plum blazer. I found a similar Calvin Klein Aubergine blazer ($57.59):

Screen Shot 2014-01-03 at 11.10.11 AM

I love that they let Clarke Hayden (Nathan Lane) cross-examine the witness. He is so wonderfully awkward but perfect for the role! I especially love when he comes up the the loophole every time!

In the meantime, Kalinda is still chasing down Damian, but he has her pulled over and arrested by one of his cop friends on the force.

In court, Diane wears an mandarin style collar Armani jacket with a vintage pin. This Tahari Ivory Suit Separates Jacket ($69.99) is similar and I found this great vintage pin on Etsy for $3.50 – you can’t beat that:

Screen Shot 2014-01-03 at 12.10.54 PM

As the hearing continues we see that the weekend Will (Josh Charles) and Alicia spent with Ashbaugh, were smack dab in the middle of their affair. It is deliciously awkward to watch them interact now knowing that they have to relive this again. I also love how the costume designer has both Will and Alicia remembering Alicia wearing different colors – that is such a great detail that works great in the scene.

Watching Will work on his cross questions was probably the best scene since he confronted Alicia about leaving. We find out that being with Will was the happiest time in her life and that Will thinks that Alicia made him think that she loved him so she could steal his clients. WOW…that was such a cathartic scene. There is so much between these characters and I will be so disappointed if they never circle back together.

As all of this is happening, Eli (Alan Cumming) is trying to block Peter (Chris Noth) from attending Alicia’s holiday party because of some of the unsavory clientele that might attend. He ends up setting up a meeting with Donna Brazil and dangles a possible Vice-Presidential nod in front of Peter – this boy is moving on up…

Will’s cross-examination of Alicia doesn’t exactly go as planned when she turns the table on them. There are so many awkward pauses but they speak volumes! I love how the writers/directors put that scene together – it was so awesome! In the end it turns out that Mr. AshBaugh had numerous wills, so they were all deemed invalid. I feel like Will’s conversation with gave us a glimmer of hope – at least he said Happy Holidays.

So much to Eli’s dismay, Peter decides to bring Donna Brazil to the holiday party and Lemond Bishop (the drug dealer client) ends up attending the party. But the real kicker is when Alicia’s mom (Stockard Channing) is talking to Marilyn (Melissa George) about her crazy pregnancy sound system and asks about the baby. Marilyn tells us that its a boy and its name is Peter, which causes Eli to spit his water out. I don’t know if that is foreshadowing of any kind because the writers have flirted around with Peter and Marilyn, but it could also just be a joke – who knows?

What did you think of this week’s episode of The Good Wife? Do you think that Peter is Marilyn’s baby daddy? What about Kalinda’s new relationship with the cop? And what will happen with Will and Alicia?

The Good Wife “Whack-a-Mole” Recap

Florrick Agos and Lockhart Gardner are in similar positions this week. FA needs to get more clients and make a splash. LG needs to hire more attorneys to make up for their loss and work on retaining their clients. Alicia (Julianna Marguiles) gets a call from an old client who is in need of her help. She is wearing an embellished Escada Jacket and an Etro Embellished Top ($810). To recreate the look, this Calvin Klein Hardware Jacket ($66.96) and this Beaded Silky Halter Top ($21.47) do the trick. Thanks to WornOnTV for the Jacket find. embellished halter Will (Josh Charles) and Diane (Christine Baranski) meet with a headhunter to find some new talent. Will takes a different approach to hiring, by trying to find non-traditional people for the firm. Diane wears a teal and black colorblocked dress. I found a similar dress by Gabriella Rocha ($13.80): colorblock dress Will ends up looking into Damian Boyle (Jason Mara) who is a hunk with an Irish accent, LOVE! Will goes ahead and hires Damian without consulting with anyone else. This puts Diane in a difficult spot. She wears a blue and purple tweed dress and jacket. I found a similar tweed outfit in this Tahari Sheath Dress ($90.30) and matching blazer ($104.30):

Meanwhile, Alicia is in court trying to get an injunction against a social entertainment website that is disparaging her client. Alicia wears a red Gucci blazer and Escada skirt. I found a similar Merona blazer ($29.99):

While they are in court, the new guy decides to play a prank on Florrick Agos and steal all of their office furniture. This guy is definitely going to shake things up. He sneaks a peak at their files and decides to hop in on Alicia’s internet case and has the gall to wear the #1 Mom pin from her desk on his lapel. This threw Alicia off, but let’s be honest, it would have thrown me off too. I wouldn’t expect anyone to act that immature.

Jackie (Mary Beth Peil) and Eli (Alan Cumming) butt heads again when he tries to find a new Supreme Court Justice to replace Diane. Jackie doesn’t want him to hire the candidate because she slept with Peter’s (Chris Noth) father (wow…like father like son…).

Diane gathers the partners to take a vote on Damien’s partnership, but they all decide to change their minds and keep him on. So she asks Kalinda (Archie Panjabi) to properly vet him. Diane wears a patterned blouse. I found a similar color Antonio Melani blouse ($89):

In the end the win goes to Florrick Agos. Alicia wears a Basler Side Panel Blazer ($637.50). I found a similar Anne Klein Jacket ($104.99):

The Good Wife “The Next Month” Recap

This week on The Good Wife Lockhart Gardner becomes “LG.” Will (Josh Charles) is fired up about expanding and rebranding the firm. Diane (Christine Baranski) wears a red paisley brocade jacket by Stella McCartney. I found a similar scroll blazer at Dress Barn ($46):

red blazerLG is so busy with the expansion, they don’t have time to talk to Natalie Flores (America Ferrara), who is bringing them an important case with the State Department. They pawn her off to Howard Lyman (Jerry Adler) who is racist and completely unprofessional with her. Natalie instead takes her business to Alicia (Julianna Marguilles).

In the meantime, Florrick Agos finally gets office space in a factory style building. They are trying to bill it as a hip startup. They decide to take Natalie’s case because it has the potential to send them lots of extra business. Alicia wears a floral embroidered Rena Lange jacket. I think the best match is the same scroll blazer at Dress Barn ($46), but the grey version:

Marilyn (Melissa George) and Eli (Alan Cumming) visit Alicia because Peter (Chris Noth) wants to come to the office and congratulate his wife. They wanted to come first and make sure there weren’t any ethical violations. Marilyn wears a Saint Laurent Black Leather Ruffle Cady Dress. This was pretty unique, so I just tried to find a professional leather trim dress that you could wear to office. This dress from Venus ($34) does the trick:

Eli runs into Natalie at Alicia’s office and is visibly moved by seeing her again. He invites her out to dinner. Will finally realizes that they messed up with Natalie by letting her talk to Howard and desperately try to get her back.

Unfortunately, Florrick Agos needs to make cuts to keep moving forward. Robin (Jess Weixler) was the last person hired and they decide to let her go but she overhears them talking and decides to approach Kalinda (Archie Panjabi) to get her old job back. Kalinda tells her to make herself indispensable so they won’t fire her. I thought this was great advice to give any young professional.

Robin decides to help Alicia and Natalie out in there case, and boy is she determined. She ends up hunting down their missing person in less than two hours.

During Eli’s dinner with Natalie, he tells her that Peter won’t be giving his minority talk anymore. She was disappointed and this eventually leads Eli to reschedule the talk. This change ends up embarrassing Marilyn in front of Peter, so she starts looking into why Eli might have changed his mind about the speech.

Alicia and Cary (Matt Czuchry) end up running all over town to different courts in order to appeal their case. Alicia wears a gold zip front L’Agence suit jacket ($299) with an Alexander McQueen pencil skirt. I found a similar Dana Buchman blazer for $24:

On the other side, Will is busy drowning his sorrows in his college-aged girlfriend. She is the complete opposite of Alicia, which makes it interesting to watch Will with her. He does end up getting Natalie to reconsider taking her business to LG since its not going very well with Alicia and Cary.

Poor Diane gets stuck with trying to wrangle Howard into apologizing to Natalie. He is a piece of work! Diane looks great in a wine colored dress with lots of pearls. I found a similar Anne Klein ribbed dress ($129):

Eli almost cancels his dinner with Natalie, but then he mans up and decides to meet with her. It is so funny to see him be so off balance with her.

Peter finally visits Alicia’s office with no ethical violation, whew, I was worried about that one (insert sarcasm here).

Nothing too crazy this week, most of the fun was watching Eli be nervous.
